Christmas Day...

Merry Christmas Corrie Fans...
And those who watch through habit.

Rita's in the floor, Derek's in a bind, Gemma's had babies and is going out her mind.
Nick is grimacing nicely, and Sarah's forgot the plot.
And we're all just gathering around and hoping Dev gets shot.

@Deadringer He doesn't need to pretend to be nice now he's broken her. I know it's just a soap but there are wicked people like this out there in real life...
Think I need to change channels for a whole Grin

Clawdy · 05/02/2020 19:49

Those "Fat Yas" comments were silly though, I'm sure he would find horrible things to say about her appearance, but calling her fat, when she is so slight and slender, was just ridiculous. It's as if the script writer had never seen the actress playing Yasmeen.

woodhill · 05/02/2020 19:50

I want someone to punch Geoff in the face

informedisgood · 05/02/2020 19:50

..for a while Wink

DaisyStarburst · 05/02/2020 19:58

Phew, glad it was Tim and not Geoff!

Redshoeblueshoe · 05/02/2020 19:58

I'm glad Daisy was right about Tim

Thesearmsofmine · 05/02/2020 20:27

I really hope this is the end for the storyline. It is so awful. I have a friend who left an abusive arsehole like Geoff a few months ago, he destroyed her.

Honeyroar · 05/02/2020 20:30

Yes we normally complain about plots being rushed but I’d be glad if this one finished!

TheGinGenie · 05/02/2020 20:38

I can't bear to watch it, it's so awful

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 05/02/2020 20:42

Eileen would be a good pick to help Yasmeen after some of the guys she's been with. Hopefully she'll slap the taste out if Geoff's mealy pissant mouth.

My ex used to “warn” me about getting fat. I was a size 8 when we met and never got bigger than a size 10 except for baby bump. Day after baby 2 was born I was in size 10 jeans and he still had to “warn” me. He would take food out of my hand and say “I don’t think you need that, do you?” Warn me that he would leave me if I turned into my mum (size 14/16) and say “you’ve been warned” it was nothing to do with my size. I wasn’t fat at all. It was to keep me insecure and be grateful for any attention from him.

Redshoeblueshoe · 05/02/2020 20:46

Juan thank goodness he's your X

Redshoeblueshoe · 05/02/2020 20:47

Bullshit
I expect him to be threatening suicide any minute now

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 05/02/2020 20:50

I expect him to be threatening suicide any minute now

That’s exactly what I thought! It’s what ex did whenever I tried to stand up to him. Waterworks then suicide threats.

TheSquitz · 05/02/2020 21:57

The bloke who plays Geoff is really good because I'm boiling with rage just watching him. When he came back from the cafe and deliberately belched, I felt so angry!! Really hope that Nina stays with Roy. She's so vulnerable.

Redshoeblueshoe · 05/02/2020 22:26

I hope Tim talks to his mum, I don't think anyone believed that BS about him being abused by Tim's mum

Deadringer · 05/02/2020 22:43

Why didn't Cathy open her big gob when Eileen was questioning Yasmeen's situation? We knew she has suspicions and she has plenty to say at other times.

sidneyp · 05/02/2020 22:44

God I hate Geoff. Seriously!

thenightsky · 05/02/2020 23:18

I think the writers have been reading some of the relationship threads on mumsnet as Geoff certainly seems to be following 'the abuser script' that is often mentioned.

AgentCooper · 06/02/2020 08:43

I could have cried watching those scenes with Yasmeen last night, Geoff is such a piece of shit. I really, really hope they don’t have her killing him or wounding him and then going to court for it à la The Archers. I hope he gets his arse handed to him asap.

Susiesoap7 · 06/02/2020 09:46

I hate Geoff! Hope Yasmin finds the courage to stand up to him and kick him out! I have a feeling he will have taken all her money too. What an evil creep! Speaking as a victim!!

Clawdy · 06/02/2020 09:48

Yasmeen could have said "Yes, you can stay, but I want my card back and your phone with that video on it, things are going to be different from now on....."

Thesearmsofmine · 06/02/2020 10:03

It’s so frustrating seeing her let him get away with his behaviour but it is realistic, she’s been worn down by him and is doubting herself. It is interesting that they chose Yasmeen for the storyline because she has been a strong person, dealing with family problems, being single and running a business etc, not someone already meek and who needs a partner.

I do think Corrie have done well because there has been a fairly long lead up to this point. Even when Geoff first joined there were bits showing a nasty side(wasn’t he horrible to Audrey in hospital?), I don’t know if they had this planned back then though!

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 06/02/2020 10:08

Agree they are doing this very well. I wasn’t impressed when it first started ramping up so quickly but it’s very realistic now.

So we’ve seen Yasmeen realise he is being deliberately cruel to her. The bells have started ringing and she’s taken a deep breath and confronted him. Which is great but also now is the most dangerous time for her. Geoff will see he is losing control of her and will up the ante. A woman trying to leave a DV relationship is at highest risk of being killed. It will be interesting to see how this isn’t portrayed. They are working with WA on this storyline so should be pretty accurate.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 06/02/2020 10:09

Is portrayed.
