A 3 partner shown mon to wed this week

Sales associate Thomas faints at a pitch presentation and loses the sale

His colleagues then seem out to get him - is it bullying or banter

Looks good

I think workplace bullying could have been portrayed better than this somehow

MrsWhites · 17/12/2019 21:48

Finding this really uncomfortable viewing to be honest. Especially the scene with the younger girl talking about his family, really nasty!

HabbyHadno · 17/12/2019 21:48

ALSO... if he's got all these good connections could he just not go and work for another company if they're that impressive? I'd just take my knowledge and contacts elsewhere if my work team were acting like children.

adhdme2019 · 17/12/2019 21:49

Oh this is awful.

I feel so uncomfortable watching them push him and push him then turn themselves into the victims.

BitOfFun · 17/12/2019 21:49

This is such uncomfortable viewing, I'm practically watching through my fingers.

HabbyHadno · 17/12/2019 21:54

"Sorry, he's had to reschedule. I'll give him a call to set a new date". SURELY!!!!

BitOfFun · 17/12/2019 21:57

I bet that snek woman accuses him of sexual harassment.

BodenGate · 17/12/2019 22:03

It’s good that workplace bullying is being portrayed and discussed. It’s happened to me twice and I’ve never known it to be portrayed or discussed in the media within at least the last 10 years. It shows how a climate such as threat of redundancy can breed a culture of bullying and the impact on the ‘victim’ well. My bullying has been much more insidious. It’ll be interesting to see how it concludes as it doesn’t usually end well for the bullied person in real life sadly.

MrsWhites · 17/12/2019 22:09

@BitOfFun I thought the same, she was very quick to jump on and twist what he was saying!

Rollergirl11 · 17/12/2019 22:12

Just watched the 1st one. It’s totally stupid. And utterly implausible. The thing with all the post-it notes on his desk, that would take an hour to set up.

And what the fuck is “the grip” that they keep talking about? That’s so not a THING!!! I’m actually infuriated by it.

unique1986 · 17/12/2019 22:15

Episode 2 was much better than the first.
I did laugh at him having to be at three places at once and getting drunk.

adhdme2019 · 17/12/2019 22:23

And did he spend a grand on champagne?

BustedDreams · 17/12/2019 22:24

Compelling and uncomfortable viewing. I’ve seen the same behaviour in the civil service. It does happen.

BustedDreams · 17/12/2019 22:26

@adhdme2019 yes I think near enough. I saw £195 per bottle and he bought 5.

unique1986 · 17/12/2019 22:38

I can't believe they drank so much.

Couldn't agree more ^^

Bellagio40 · 18/12/2019 03:43

I’ve just watched the first two episodes. Everything about it is awful.

butterpuffed · 18/12/2019 07:52

I'm wondering if it's all been a 'dream' after he fainted at the presentation at the beginning but then there would have to be a twist at the end and I can't think what that would be unless he turns out to be a bully himself

I found the bit with his colleague mocking his daughter very uncomfortable and unnecessary

hobbler · 18/12/2019 10:07

@BustedDreams yep civil service employee here and was bullied by own manager for two years. Higher management did nothing.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 18/12/2019 10:46

It sounds wrong, with the context of the series, to say I have really enjoyed this series . Looking forward to tonight when I assume he goes renegade and seeks his revenge .

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 18/12/2019 10:47

@butterpuffed that would be an excellent twist .

Gemma2019 · 18/12/2019 11:38

I'm really glad it's ending tonight - it's extremely uncomfortable to watch but somehow compelling. It'll be really interesting to see how it ends, and find out which person was the main instigator.

Igotmylipstickon · 18/12/2019 12:42

Am finding it annoying and implausible too:

How could someone change the time on his phone - surely the clock would change back automatically?
His car wouldn't be towed in less than 5 mins.
Why on earth would anyone make 3 important arrangements on the same evening? Can't he just say "tonight doesn't suit".
Why is wife saying they need a break? Surely he needs her more now than ever and she should be supporting him?
I would have taken a photo of the post-its & recorded Andy with the headphones - use as evidence for the future.

But I will watch the last one as I really want to see what happens. He better get his revenge!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/12/2019 14:03

I think it’s good a show is showing bullying at work and how it ‘seems’ innocent

I don’t get why THOMAS stays there. He has a horrible team - did they used to be nice before the e1 pitch failure

Or was he an awful leader And why they behave like that

He doesn’t help his self (sorry to those who are bullied) for example the red ant prank - he should have said yes mate was funny. Water under the bridge rather then Standing there

But I guess years of being bullied at school got to him :(

One lady of team is nice warning him not to drink lots etc

The other lady. Taking the piss out of his deaf daughter and rude about his wife - she’s a bitch

Spending £1k on bubbly. Insane !!

I’m in agreement with what he told his daughter

Fight back

My dd is 2. When she goes to school if someone starts on her I want her to fight back

Maybe that’s wrong ...........

This must be the most uncomfortable tv drama I've ever seen. A lot of the storyline is very far fetched and unbelievable which is really dragging it down (car tow, champagne bill, phone clock change etc) but the workplace bullying seems very realistic (desk covered in post it notes aside) and gut wrenchingly horrible to watch. The worst thing is that he has no one that seems genuine to tell and to support him. His boss is totally incompetent. The 'nice lady' is not nice, she's been setting him up to fail from the beginning and dragging the other two into it, she's the ring leader here. Andy with the headphones was horrific Sad.

I hope the writers will pull it back for Thomas now. I almost don't want to watch any more in case it gets worse.

I feel so sorry for anyone who has been through this Flowers.
