OP posts:
AuntieMarys · 29/10/2019 14:48

I'm just catching up with it. My word, Victoria is dreadful. Very unpleasant .

marywinchester · 29/10/2019 15:29

slb37 your reply is why i need to do more research as i didn't know the percentage of people putting it back on was that high.

i think body positivity is a really good thing (and i wish i had some)but you have to be healthy or well at the same time and i'm not sure if being obese is healthy especially later in life
i've lost 15 stone, managed to keep it off for 8 years except about 7lbs that go on and off at various points in the year and its flipping hard work but i don't want to have aching joints or other problems when i get older.
looking forward to tonights episode.

Tannerfamily · 29/10/2019 16:28

@SLB37. I warmed to you immediately. Your baby is divine, such a beautiful baba. I wish you the best of luck and positivity on your journey. Xxxxx

Victoria-no words for her. I agree with body positivity but she is damaging to others, she is in denial. She was incredibly rude when they man who had his leg amputated was speaking.

I enjoyed the show.

Elodie2019 · 29/10/2019 17:28

The woman with short blonde hair and glasses is horrendous.
Yes, have a positive body image but why on earth is she arguing that being overweight has no impact on health? What an idiot.

Being my size puts me at greater risk of developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease and the rest. It's science and has been researched and proven extensively.

She wants to do talks in schools? Not a chance she would be allowed through the door. Balanced views are good but she's in complete denial.

Elodie2019 · 29/10/2019 17:29

I also agree... her biggest problem is that she's manipulative and everyone's worst critic.
Nasty piece of work.

Skinnychip · 29/10/2019 17:43

One of the ladies said if her weight got to a point she struggled to walm then she epuld do something about it. I got really frustrated and thought why would you let it get to that stage... ?
Then i realised what a massive hypocrite i was being as i had an ED in my teens and it did get to the stage i needed to be hospitalised.....so reckon its more of a psychological thing than physical in a way.

MrsJamin · 29/10/2019 18:28

I see Victoria as a prime example of the identity politics of today- she identifies as a healthy person and sees it as a choice to see yourself as healthy, regardless of the actual reality of obesity. She doesn't understand why the rest of them choose to see themselves as healthy too. It was very highlighted by the "triggered" type response when someone said the words obesity and overweight. The whole thing was fascinating, I'm looking forward to the second episode tonight.

Limer · 29/10/2019 18:39

Interesting programme, so many issues going on, lots of complex backgrounds of the participants too.

SLB37 I recognised you too, you did a triathlon around Jersey as the finale of your previous programme!

Dramaofallama · 29/10/2019 21:18

Anyone watching tonight?

Aria2015 · 29/10/2019 21:23

I did laugh at the accusation of the interviewer being ableist! They were just asking her, as a person with no mobility issues now, if she'd be willing to sacrifice that mobility because of her weight! The thing is Victoria's career is built on body positively, she'd do herself out of a job to consider that her weight could be bad for any reason so they'll be no changing her mind!

Gilead · 29/10/2019 21:23

Victoria is stirring. Nasty, spiteful tattle tale.

St0pTryingT0MakeFetchHappen · 29/10/2019 21:24

Oooooooh.... this is getting interesting...

Lessthanzero · 29/10/2019 21:26

I'm behind due to bake off.

Just watched the dance thing. That Victoria is really smug and really fucking loves herself.

Dramaofallama · 29/10/2019 21:32

I feel for babs, i hope she gets help. You can see it is an addiction and needs help Sad

Victoria is just not listening to others stories about the surgery

Lessthanzero · 29/10/2019 21:39

Babs is lovley and what she just explained is why obesity needs to be classified as an illness. She needs counciling. That's very obsessive and compulsive behaviour.

St0pTryingT0MakeFetchHappen · 29/10/2019 21:40

God Victoria is rude.

Gilead · 29/10/2019 21:42

You are not a political activist.

CaveMum · 29/10/2019 21:43

The smirk on Victoria’s face as she sat at the table patronising everyone about her privileged body 🤬

longwayoff · 29/10/2019 21:47

Body fascism? Victoria, for all her protestations, is a prime practitioner.

TheDogsMother · 29/10/2019 21:50

Live in smaller bodies ??

soupmaker · 29/10/2019 21:54

Go Babs.

Dramaofallama · 29/10/2019 21:57

Constantly judging us?!
Victoria is the biggest judge of all. That whole body privilege conversation was uncomfortable.

Lessthanzero · 29/10/2019 22:02

From what I can understand, Victoria has set up a whole categorisation system where she gets the be the thinnest and the most privileged.

She wants to be a skinny bitch but can't compete, so she just compares herself with people much bigger than her.

Preparingfor · 29/10/2019 22:05

Babs, Sarah, Jed and the Indian chap (sorry didn't catch his name) were all lovely and so sensible, Victoria -. I have no words to describe her I really don't

Popfan · 29/10/2019 22:10

I enjoyed this programme and thought the genetic bit really interesting. I thought Victoria was much more insecure than she appeared actually. She really did talk a lot of nonsense. Well done @SLB37 for being so sensible and articulate. Your baby is beautiful and you are a wonderful mum!!
