Starts tomorrow

When a young, talented ballerina is found dead on an ancient stone altar, her death drags up another tragedy that befell this community years before - when three children disappeared into the local woods and only one returned

Just watched ep. 1, does it not seem as though the four teens were involved in whatever happened to Peter, Jamie and Adam?

I think I read this book but cannot remember what happened. Clear as mud after one episode too.

Mookins14 · 19/10/2019 13:11

Oh...I watched ep2 first. No wonder I'm so lost Blush

longtompot · 20/10/2019 11:19

Dh and I watched both episodes last night and really enjoyed it. Its got a nice feel to it, a bit like some of the Skandi dramas.
I do like how similar the younger actors are to the older versions, so did work out who they were. The only one I am confused about is the female detective and the younger girl who went missing. I thought they were one and the same, but seems not.
Looking forward to seeing what happens.

ageingdisgracefully · 20/10/2019 17:23

I'm lost already.

It's like a Noir version of Red RockGrin.

Vince is in it, and nasty ponytail man was a baddie in RR too.

WeWantSweet · 20/10/2019 20:28

It's a slow burner, but I'm ok with that. The central male detective has a strangely mannered way of speaking though.

Bellasblankexpression · 20/10/2019 20:46

I liked it. I don’t think it’s that confusing but it is one you have to pay attention to all the way through.
Cassie hasn’t changed her identity, she was previously undercover and her identity then was Lexie but it it seems that someone else has now adopted it.
I agree they are pointing us in a father abuse direction but I hope that’s not the case.

Rollergirl11 · 20/10/2019 21:28

Wewant sweet: He absolutely does doesn’t he? DH and I have commented on this when he was in Ripper Street and we thought it was down to the character he was playing but he’s exactly the same in this! We said the way he spoke was very oddly measured.

Corneliawildthing · 21/10/2019 13:47

I'm enjoying this and just about managing to follow it, although I am struggling with following some of the dialogue, especially when the lead female detective is speaking.

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/10/2019 13:51

Def need to concentrate and not mn /fb while watching it

Wonder if the dead twin Katie is really the other one, Jessica?

AnyFucker · 21/10/2019 22:00

.

JellyfishAndShells · 21/10/2019 22:18

Ah - so the lead male character is played by an Irish actor - playing the adult who was an Irish child who developed an English accent in an English school.

When I saw ep 1, I thought he seemed quite wooden, though didn’t doubt that it was an English accent at the time. Is it meant to be a deliberate way of speaking because the character is repressing his Irish accent because he is hiding his true identity ? And will slip back into his childhood accent at some point ? Though, if that were the case, surely it would have dropped or broadened out when he was talking to his mother ?

Or am I overthinking this and this is just the delivery of that actor assuming a ( convincing ) English accent.

Head spinning slightly.

peppinanna · 21/10/2019 22:28

It's getting really weird and creepy

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/10/2019 22:42

Very quiet tonight

Thought be lots of replies

And yes I wondered if the twins swapped

Wasn’t quite sure about the naked dancing by the fire 😂😂😂

peppinanna · 21/10/2019 22:45

I think loads of people have given up on it as it's so confusing 😂 I would have to but do want to find out what happened haha

mogtheexcellent · 21/10/2019 22:45

What a waste of wine...

I'm still enjoying it. Smile

Clawdy · 21/10/2019 22:58

So many names, so confusing! Anyone else think the naked dancing guy was the homeless man? I'm enjoying it though.

MerryInthechelseahotel · 21/10/2019 23:10

I'm loving it too but I never know what's going on! Is it on tomorrow?

AnOojamaflip · 21/10/2019 23:14

I was getting it but now a little thrown by Lexie being dead then apparently in hospital.

Everyone's dodgy!!

Adam/Robs accent hasn't slipped but he did say 'jacks' which was picked up by disgraced detective (wish I was good with names, it'd make it a lot easier!!)

Why was Cassies boyfriend with Frank? Who was the other man there - we're seen him before haven't we?

AnOojamaflip · 21/10/2019 23:16

Third man was the coroner! Yeah me for remembering!!

implantsandaDyson · 21/10/2019 23:20

I thought the bit from the trailer where Lexie was in hospital was Cassie pretending she was Lexie in hospital to flush out the real murderer - touch of the Scooby Doos!

DameSquashalot · 21/10/2019 23:21

I'm totally confused. I'm tired today and dropping off every now and then didn't help.

AnOojamaflip · 21/10/2019 23:22

Maybe the wolf did it. By laughing in the woods. Or everyone did. Or everyone has a twin, and they did it.

Ah!!!

LoafEater · 21/10/2019 23:46

Me and DH kept pausing the tv to explain things to each other so much that it took us two hours to watch tonight’s episode!

CoolCarrie · 21/10/2019 23:49

implants I think you are right, Cassie is pretending to be Lexie, who she pretended to be in an undercover case.
