Starts tomorrow

When a young, talented ballerina is found dead on an ancient stone altar, her death drags up another tragedy that befell this community years before - when three children disappeared into the local woods and only one returned

No it was 3 kids.

Rollergirl11 · 15/10/2019 19:50

Clawdy: That actor was also the abducter in the BBC program Thirteen with Jodie Comer. Can’t imagine an actor ever wanting to be typecast as a paedophile!

AnOojamaflip · 15/10/2019 20:09

That's also possible Rollergirl11, I certainly felt she was there for protection. Hers or the little sister.

She's similar to the mum isn't she. Also had to step in for her in caring for her sisters. I don't know maybe it's not sexual abuse, but there's something creepy about the whole family set up isn't there. It could be overtly religious vibe, though they all seem quite numbed/too calm other than the older girl.

I mean it'd hardly be odd for a father to not sleep the day he discovers his daughter had been murdered and go check his other children!!

MadeForThis · 15/10/2019 20:14

I got an abuse vibe too. Or maybe that's what they want us to suspect initially.

The two detectives definitely have a deep relationship. Wouldn't imagine many know that he's one of the missing kids. Albeit the one that came back.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/10/2019 20:41

I enjoyed

Hadn’t a clue rob the copper was the found boy till he smelt the clothes and thought something not right

Not sure who the rich ponytail bloke and tramp are

Wasn’t sure of the no bra thing either

Hope tonight’s is as good

I am lost again already 😂

MistyMinge2 · 15/10/2019 21:40

Well so far this is having the effect of making me fall asleep

SouthWestmom · 15/10/2019 21:47

Dh is really into this but I have no clue what anyone is or who they are etc

peppinanna · 15/10/2019 21:55

There is so many characters and side stories I cannot keep up at all

Itsrebekahvardysaccount · 15/10/2019 21:56

Very confused about the man in the blue and orange jacket.

purpleme12 · 15/10/2019 22:03

I wouldn't be bothered about not knowing what's going on if it made me want to know more. But it doesn't really

Clawdy · 15/10/2019 22:03

So both detectives are using false identities, for completely different reasons? A bit.....unlikely.

peppinanna · 15/10/2019 22:21

@Clawdy exactly my thoughts! It's way too far fetched

mogtheexcellent · 15/10/2019 22:41

The Lexi storyline and undercover book is actually the next book in the series the author wrote. I assume for television purposes they are doing a bit of blending with the storylines.

I'm enjoying it so far.

Rollergirl11 · 15/10/2019 22:50

The new “lexi” storyline is too much. It’s getting too complicated.

Also it’s bugging me that they are calling the older teenagers in the 80’s timeline witnesses. What did they witness exactly?

AnOojamaflip · 16/10/2019 00:01

I'm incredibly confused

Though I am glad they raised how she was living in a big flat like that in 2006. I was chewing DH's ear off yesterday about it (though I had it as renting in Dún Laoghaire yesterday!!)

Someone's going to cotton on English Rob is Irish Adam. Think Cassie's boyfriend and disgraced detective might together.

AnOojamaflip · 16/10/2019 00:03

Oh and realised Cathal and the drunk mentioned Shane, not Jane!! Misheard that.

AnOojamaflip · 16/10/2019 00:18

Also who's Lexie? Only one I think possible is Jamie. But it's making my head hurt.

longwayoff · 16/10/2019 06:01

I'm annoyed. This should be gripping but, as pp has said, it's not holding my interest. It's not pacey enough and its over-staffed, who are all these people who all look much the same? I'm going to save it and try it in a couple of chunks on iPlayer, it might be easier to follow.

The80sweregreat · 16/10/2019 06:23

I've given up on it ; I'll read this thread to find out what's going on and if it's improved at all or just read the books!
The main guy in it is nice though ; something about him I like.

peppinanna · 16/10/2019 09:46

I feel like maybe the Lexie/tramp/man in ponytail are flashbacks of why Cassie had to change her identity maybe? That's the only plausible explanation I can think of right now.
There are way to many people to know what the hell is going on. I didn't understand the conversation Robert and Cassie were having with the old lady eating scones at all.

implantsandaDyson · 16/10/2019 10:43

The hi vis jacket tramp, the ponytail man, Jonathan (the father of the murdered girl) and the cleaner were a group of friends older than the three who went into the woods and only Adam came back. Obviously they were aware of something going on in the woods (all the he has risen graffiti and the reluctance of pony tailed man to call the guards on hi vis jacket man). There is obviously some secret that binds them together.

The dad and the girl in the group (now the cleaner in the dance school) were a couple, she became pregnant and had an abortion. He then took up with a new girl (the mum), she became pregnant but no abortion for her, they married quickly, had Rosalind (the older daughter), then twins. The judgy neighbour was quick with her info!

Lexie is a link to a case Cassie had been working on when undercover, as is the man who was watching her/in the flat/on the train - he was her handler/boss.

I'm assuming (haven't read the books) that there's a link or a situation that caused Rob/Adam to reveal all to Cassie. It's not really a post job drinks down the pub chat and she is a relatively new transfer to the team.
See clear as mud Wink

youngestisapsycho · 16/10/2019 10:46

I thought Casie was Lexie... that was her name when undercover? Or is Lexie a seperate person??

CoolCarrie · 16/10/2019 11:54

Cassie is Lexie, Lexie is the name she used when she went undercover on a different case. The series is a mash up of two books. The scone woman was the gossip of the area, that’s why she was a fount of info. As pp said the flashbacks are to the cleaner, hi vis guy , pony tail guy and the murdered girl’s father as young adults who hung around the woods, and probably know more than they let on. The interesting thing is no bodies were found, just Adam alive. I hope it doesn’t turn out like an irish Picnic At Hanging Rock !

youngestisapsycho · 16/10/2019 12:54

Have we only seen pony tail guy the once, when hi-vis guy approachd him? I dont remember seeing him again?
