Starts tomorrow

When a young, talented ballerina is found dead on an ancient stone altar, her death drags up another tragedy that befell this community years before - when three children disappeared into the local woods and only one returned

It would be a lot better to watch it all in one go rather then wait a week until the next episode as there is waaaaaay too much to remember!

CoolCarrie · 16/10/2019 13:46

Are there two episodes, mon &tues next week?

SisterFarAway · 16/10/2019 15:16

I didn't quite get what scone woman was talking about when she said that Jessica was a "fetch child" (or did I mishear?).

It is very confusing and I am not sure if I will tune in on Monday.

implantsandaDyson · 16/10/2019 15:53

A fetch is an old word for a sort of supernatural, malovelent double of a person. Sort of like an evil twin but more supernatural than that. A portent to sadness kind of thing.

AnOojamaflip · 16/10/2019 16:59

'Lexie' is who Cassie was living as when she was undercover.

Cassie is no longer undercover so is back to being herself. However someone is attempting to take up as Lexie. There is no hint who this is, but we know they tried to get the birth certs etc (which Cassie would have used when undercover as Lexie) Frank (Cassies rather dupius boss when she was undercover) assumes for bank account and passport. (Why he thought she was trying to resurrect Lexie I'm not sure.)

We can assume that this 'Lexie' knows hi-vis man, but as her real self (whoever that is). Scence in car suggests this. My only guess is this Lexie is Jamie (based on her having dark hair and her body never discovered).

AnOojamaflip · 16/10/2019 17:04

@youngestisapsycho no we saw him at the airport, talking to his work about a man on drugs needing to be cleared away from outside the (work) building. He was clear it was security that were to move him off and not the Gardaí (aka An Garda Síochána - the irish police).

ktel1 · 16/10/2019 17:16

I'm enjoying this so far.

I'm concerned that those who have read the books will give something away on this forum.

There have already been comments from people , well intentioned I'm sure, giving more information than we already have at this stage.

AnOojamaflip · 16/10/2019 17:33

Not getting that myself!! (Not read the books, but know it's the first two this is based on.)

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 16/10/2019 21:43

Just tuned in on RTE. I loooove Tommy's Killian's accent ❤️

Hooked already Smile

Dulra · 16/10/2019 22:18

Just caught up with episode two I'm still enjoying it. Don't find it slow at all but you have to pay attention or you'll be lost as my dh now is Grin. I do think for people who aren't Irish some of the dialogue must be quite hard to follow because they are using some colloquialisms you wouldn't be familiar with and they're talking quite fast...
For those that like the actor playing the main character rob/Adam his name is Killian Scott and his brother is Eoghan Murphy
who is the current minister for housing in Ireland Confused. Killian changed his surname from murphy to scott because he would have clashed names with that other famous actor Cillian Murphy Grin

youngestisapsycho · 16/10/2019 22:46

I think I need to watch episode 2 again....

Encyclo · 16/10/2019 23:49

I'm loving it, not finding it complicated yet, although the Lexie part I could've done without.

I think Cassie was with the children throwing stones at Adam, she was the littlest and had a sort of pained expression in her face. I think that's the connection.

I can't wait for next week. In the trailer it appears that some local woman recognises him.

I think being Irish helps with this show. Lots of chat and banter in the aul vernacular.

kaytees · 17/10/2019 20:47

Just blitzed first 2 eps... something seems up with ponytail man and tramp. Are they brothers? There's some similarity.

Quite enjoying it so far, but there are a lot of characters to remember...

AnOojamaflip · 17/10/2019 20:56

I thought that @kaytees not suggestion of it, just something about them!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/10/2019 15:30

I’m confused. Not sure how you got all that @implantsandaDyson

Or did I fall asleep mid programme

OP posts:
AnOojamaflip · 18/10/2019 15:42

All of what implantsandaDyson was in the programme.

I think it helds to pause it now and again and figure out what info you're just had given to you!! Had a conversation in work today about it. Different people picked up different stuff!!

AnOojamaflip · 18/10/2019 16:17

"helds to pause" should be "helps to pause"!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/10/2019 17:46

I got that Lexie was the police lady under cover

I didn’t get the 4 Young are now the dad cleaner tramp and suit man

Old scone lady was a mine of info about abortion and London

OP posts:
implantsandaDyson · 18/10/2019 19:44

I actually found it easy enough to follow and there's been a few programmes recently that I couldn't be arsed investing in due to my confusion Grin.

AnOojamaflip · 18/10/2019 20:05

The bit about the four '85 older teenagers being Jonathan (dad of Katy), Sandra (cleaner), Cathal (suit man) and Shane (high Vis/'he is risen' man) wasnt massively clear.

First we discover there are witness statements that Rob now has. He tells Cassie he's one of the names (could miss this is Katy's dad if you've not properly recorded in your head Joanathan Devlin = dad in odd family). Pictures of the four statements go up (as well as a picture of the two missing children and, drumroll, Adam.

Rob/Adam can recall the older teenagers. He know Jonathan (the dad) was with the older teen girl.

Young garda interviews cleaner. Happens to mentions her name. Connection made so they know she's lying (in 2006) about knowing Jonathan.

Witness statements have the four older teenagers at the cinema that night in 85. There presence there is supported by one person and one person only. A 14 year old called Margaret. This particular Margaret it is revealed married Joanathan only a few years later. (Three or four years later, I can't fully recall. Think it was three, as i remember commenting she would have been just 17, him 21.)

Lady on scooter reveals over scones that Sandra got pregnant and went to England (aka had an abortion). Jonathan being the father. Jonathan, evidently not a quick learner the finds himself with another girlfriend pregnant. This on however wont get the boat and so they have to marry.

Older sister of Katy is the baby born from tis pregnancy.

That's all I recall and remind of talking to work colleagues.

I'm a bit vague on if they've identified Cathal and Shane. I do remember them pointing to one of the four picture of the 85 older teens, but I don't recall who they were talking about. Experienced name fatigue halfway through!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/10/2019 22:34

@AnOojamaflip. Thanks for that

Feel free and explain next weeks to me 😂😂

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 19/10/2019 10:13

@Dulra I had no idea that Killian Scott and Eoghan Murphy were brothers Shock
But now that I think of it, I see the resemblance!

AnOojamaflip · 19/10/2019 10:18

I'll try @Blondeshavemorefun!! Might need a few days to sort it out and get my head around it first though!

Dulra · 19/10/2019 12:44

If people are struggling to follow this you should listen to the podcast "shrine" it is the same people that did the podcast for line of duty called shrine of duty. They do a very thorough recap on each episode. Just Google shrine and it will come up Wink

Dulra · 19/10/2019 12:47

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet there sure is a resemblance if you google their names loads of pics of them together come up and there's no doubting they're brothers Grin. No idea how eoghan ended up in fine Gael Confused
