You can make very delicious pesto from kale, garlic and hard cheese and a bit of oil. In fact I think Greg made it on another programme to use up left over kale

Yes, you can use other things. I was thinking of the standard pine nuts, basil, oil and cheese mix.

I think I spend the same or less now shopping in Aldi per person per week than I did shopping in Tesco as a student 20 years ago. Economies of scale in shopping for 5 vs 2 of course as well.

£9 for a bottle of wine.

Just catching up with last week's couple who live on sweets and no actual food.

This episode has to be a parody surely? No-one eats that badly and laughs about it, especially as he's working when he needs to retire and her being a nurse.

So now it appears that they're showing episode 4 (Mr & Mrs Sugar) again next Wednesday and I'm sure it did say 4 of 8, but it doesn't say that any more.

There was another episode 4 in this series listed about quite a young couple with a baby that had been ill and they'd got out of the habit of cooking due to lots of hospital stays, but this seems to have now completely disappeared from the listings.

Still think it has descended into a parody of itself with the sugar couple and the students who went to the local Tesco Metro one at a time, all paying full price for a jar of pesto that was much cheaper to buy in multiples.

You don't need Gregg Wallace and his mate holding your hand to work out that's an expensive way to shop, surely?

Shame as I do love this

Tho still want a £60 shop on budget beans etc to go to £50 and save £10 which will mean much more then the £200 shops reducing by half
