X FACTOR returns! And this time it's a CELEBRITY edition ***8.35 Sat***

So, after all those years of watching wannabes trying to become somebodies, Simon has decided the way to go is to basically take a bunch of celebs and see if they can sing.

I've a feeling we've seen something like this before.

Tonight's auditions are in Malibu, and the first bunch of celebs are

Journalist, Martin Bashir, Quiz show champion, Jenny Ryan (is she off the Chase? )and Model and Actress, Hayley Hasselhoff.

Glee Actor, Kevin McHale, The Islanders, made up of former Love Island contestants Samira Mighty, Zara McDermott, Wes Nelson and Eyal Booker; and Social Media Stars and CBBC Presenters Max and Harvey.

Another group act 'Try Star' - rugby stars Ben Foden, Thom Evans and Levi Davis - and Professional dancer, Brendan Cole and actor, Jeremy Edwards who form Cole and Edwards.

I am not sure I know who most of these people are. But I don't watch Love Island. Maybe it is stretching the 'Celebrity' label a bit

I'll still get sucked in to watching , probably.

Olivia LoveActually was surprisingly crap. I think it’s because - oddly for such a beautiful girl - she has zero stage presence or charisma.

Jenny Chaser was robbed. Martin Bashir should give up his spot for her.

Corrie girl - terribly shouty.

Another one here saying Jenny was robbed.

Choosing Martin Bashir over her was bizarre.

They clearly picked the more famous/ more influencial people. I think I'll have to stop watching again after this.

DH spent the whole evening forwarding bits of it and not concentrating and then got ridiculously annoyed when Jenny didn't get picked! The last time I remember him being so annoyed about unfair decisions was Linford Christie in 1996.

No idea why Vinnie Jones gets to go in without auditioning. They might as well announce him as the winner now. He’s a horrible man. Having a dead wife isn’t going to transform him into a decent person or a good singer 🤷‍♀️

I feel uncomfortable that Vinnie Jones said yes to all this. despite what people may think about him, he has just lost his wife and cant be in a good place. it seems a bit odd - i dont know much about the man or follow football, but i would have thought they would have left him alone really. asking him to sing on this is a bit much.
not sure i agree with it.

Bereaved people do all sorts of weird stuff.
It acts as a diversion from the pain.

I get that about him wanting to carry on etc but singing on this is strange.

He's probably thinking it will make a nice distraction for his kids; it gives them all something to focus on.

I've just seen on the Xfactor fb page that the judges have brought Jenny back! I wonder if someone has dropped out!

In which case why bother with the auditions in the first place and not just go straight into the live shows?
