We definitely saw the real Alex through Kate. You felt he didn’t have to pretend so much as this years catfishes, although this year’s players should have known more what it’s all about, so have been better prepared. Especially as most of them are the internet generation.

Next year, will they be better prepared? Would that make it more or less interesting, as everyone knows what the is? Although ironically, the Mum was prepared, maybe too much so and tried too hard.

BareBelliedSneetch · 17/10/2019 11:48

James/Sammie needs to be blocked just for the fucking finger clicking. I haaaaaaaaate that!

aSofaNearYou · 17/10/2019 13:00

I think James was actually really dense last night and made it so obvious to Tim how fake he was being - the rude message to Ella in the game was obviously from him as it was a direct quotation of what he'd said in the blocking, and then he followed it up with a really two faced, friendly message that Tim could see. He followed all the messages attacking Ella with really strong support of her, so if it wasn't obvious to Tim she was playing a game before, it is now. If I were him I'd have been more cautious about being overly friendly to Ella in the whole Circle chat where Tim could see it.

The really frustrating thing is that all the information is there for Tim, Woody and Ella, but they're just refusing to connect the dots. Ella would just say "don't overthink it" and Tim won't share the really shady stuff he knows. I bet if he told Woody he would figure the whole plot out because he's bizarrely sharp at that stuff. I think out of the three of them, he's the one that would be able to make the connection between Sammie's sudden rise in the ratings, Tim's realisation that if she's manipulating him she could be manipulating others, and the amount of shade directed at Ella in the group chat last night despite everyone claiming to like her to her face - and realise that the other three are all working together. I really hope after the game last night Tim will be honest about his concerns about Sammie with the other two. Why defend her at this point when she's at the very least been obviously two faced and mean.

aSofaNearYou · 17/10/2019 13:04

I think it would be really funny if all Sammie managed to achieve was making it more likely that Tim will win because she's basically forced him into the position of being the Circle hero at this point, I've been cheering Tim on all week!

Russell19 · 17/10/2019 13:12

Hmmmm daily drop has made James look human again. He was emotional. Will this message from home catch him out because he doesn't mention Charlie?

CardiFree · 17/10/2019 13:18

Shuffling in to say I'm so torn as my two favourites are Tim and Sammi for totally diametrically opposed reasons!

I admire Tim's moral steadfastness and sharp intelligence but also Sammi's catfish tactics and intelligence. I believe the strategy has taken him over hence the massive change (if it wasn't in fact encouraged by the producers) - I wonder if they get some sort of therapy or mental health welfare doing this sort of thing I.e. love island, and I do believe what he said about the prize money.

I also love Woody, not too fussed about the others.

Argh can't bear it.

Doyoumind · 17/10/2019 13:21

I just watched the Daily Drop and it does seem a massive fail not to mention Charlie. Hopefully it won't just be Tim who notices.

James crying doesn't make me feel he's actually nice underneath.

So close to the end now. In some ways it will be good because I could do with going to bed earlier than The Circle finishes.

CardiFree · 17/10/2019 13:23

Yes exactly, I've been watching the next morning as I fall asleep too early.

Hopefully they'll address that if they have a third series.

MotherOfSoupDragons · 17/10/2019 13:33

So before he went in, James said if he wins he is going to pay off his mortgage, treat his family and open a shelter. Twat.

BlueKarou · 17/10/2019 14:02

Haven't seen the Daily Drop, but excited for the messages from home. Are they broadcast for the whole circle to see? Or are they shown privately to the person they're meant for?

Russell19 · 17/10/2019 14:03

I think from seeing the daily drop they are private. But I'm only assuming. It just looked that way.

Anyone still team Georgina?

itswinetime · 17/10/2019 14:11

They won't be for the whole circle to see as that what out all the catfishes I think only the players see it and then they all discuss together. I think the producers has had a word with James he was getting a lot of hate on Twitter I wouldn't be surprised if the said tone it down a bit

Scoose · 17/10/2019 14:17

I love Tim and woody I'm not bothered about the rest

LonginesPrime · 17/10/2019 14:28

I think James was actually really dense last night and made it so obvious to Tim how fake he was being

Yes, agreed.

It was good to see the subtle Tim/Woody discussion about catfish juxtaposed with James' heavy-handedness when trying to manipulate Tim last night.

I'm loving the editing in seeing James rubbing his hands with glee at being so clever and Machiavellian and Tim immediately seeing straight through him!

PointlessUsername · 17/10/2019 14:36

James is a real nasty piece of work.

Not very keen on Georgina either

Paddy is neither nor

My winners would be

  1. Tim
  2. Woody
  3. Ella
bangheadhere40 · 17/10/2019 14:39

how is the winner decided?

prettygirlincrimsonrose · 17/10/2019 15:11

@LonginesPrime I think he went too obviously for Ella. If they'd gone through the whole list and he'd been nice about everyone (including making a point about Jan not having enough time and it being fairer to keep her in), and then done a more reluctant 'I really don't want to block anyone and I do really like Ella, but I suppose it sometimes feels like she just tells people what they want to hear, isn't sharing as much about herself etc etc' it might have worked.

Russell19 · 17/10/2019 15:28

When James had his hood up rubbing his hands last night I found it really creepy. Did anyone else??

itswinetime · 17/10/2019 16:02

Yes James should have planted the seeds about Ella

For example if he had gone....

'I really like Ella she seems bright and bubbly but I have my doubts is she is genuine as she is calling everyone her bestie and look Jan is already her mumma bear after 24 hrs I hope it's all real but if not I worry people will end up hurt and I would hate anyone's time her to be tainted like that.'

Then made her point about jan deserving more time when they came to her and played it I really don't know what to do I don't know how the right player to block is... I think jan would still have gone but Tim would have been open to the idea Ella wasn't genuine.

The switch around in the ratings which have been pretty consistent until know and then Sammie going so hard for a previously popular player was transparent! Even Joyce would have seen through that Wink

LonginesPrime · 17/10/2019 16:10

Russell, I don't know how much the producers interact with the contestants, but given this whole revolution narrative they're presenting, I wouldn't be surprised if they turned the heating down in James' apartment to force him to put on clothes so they could present him as having a different image while enacting his evil plan.

And I guess if he's cold, the rubbing his hands together could be partly that too. All of which serves to make him look very creepy and unsympathetic!

I also think that making him wear clothes is likely to make people lose sympathy with him as when he was naked he seemed vulnerable, plus, if people fancied him they don't get to be reminded of his body now.

SpanishFly · 17/10/2019 16:40

Re paddy, he's said a few things that if he were a straight man saying it about a woman, it would be really unsavoury, and hed have been called out. But he's a comical gay man talking about a straight guy, so it's FINE
🙄

Russell19 · 17/10/2019 16:51

@spanishfly I completely agree. I have been cringing at the things he's said.

FthisS · 17/10/2019 17:03

I agree about Paddy, the same as with what 'Josh' said about middle class white men. Some of what Paddy has said is completely disgusting.

SpanishFly · 17/10/2019 17:03

russell Ella wouldn't have giggled if it had been aimed at a woman, that's for sure.
And I was ill listening to Emma and Katy etc talking about the Italian bloke, as a pp said. Really unacceptable

MotherOfSoupDragons · 17/10/2019 17:25

Yes the chat after Andrea left was vile. Wonder if anyone has complained to Broadcasting Standards. Poor guy.
