The Circle is back on tonight (Channel 4, 9:15) and I am soooooo excited

Busayo's point is so off though because she is basically saying that her basic white boy stereotype who thinks he's edgy because he likes grime would be more popular than her authentic self

Not only is Josh a massive fail and not at all popular, the only way this point could've been properly illustrated is if she played simultaneously as Busayo and Josh. Which I don't think she would be brave enough to do, she couldn't have done without being quickly caught because she has put the absolute bare minimum effort into giving Josh a personality

I think that's because she is playing a caricature and a caricature she dislikes not an actual person or a type of person she admires. It was a stupid decision. She seems bizarrely underprepared. Did no one want to do it this year?

@2Rebecca yes, it’s strange to look at the contestants we have when you think how many applicants the producers must have had to choose from, they obviously thought Busayo had so much contempt for her character that she’d never be able to pull it off convincingly!

Ella def knows who Woody is, I mean she's apparently a singer so she'll be big in to music, and if she listens to Zoe on radio 2 she'd have heard her going on about Woody wanting a place in the Brighton marathon...I mean how many Woodys could there be in Brighton?

As for Busayo, I think she just thought it would be easy to play someone she despised in her mind, but agree with others that she clearly wasn't that well prepared. I think it might also have worked better if she'd chosen photos of someone a bit more ordinary looking perhaps?

Woody and Tim are still my favourites, I have no doubt that if Woody did win he'd give the money to someone/somewhere,

I think the scheming last night stemmed simply from James and Paddy realising that as they were no one's rival they hadn't a hope of winning the £100k.

I get it, they have nothing to lose.

Tim or woody to win. It's definitely true that it's easier to catfish when you are essentially playing yourself (albeit one who looks different). Busayo knows sweet FA about her own creation. What an idiot.

TitsInAbsentia I agree, theres no doubt in my mind that Ella knows who Woody is. She knows a few Fatboy Slim songs, and has a huge interest in festivals/DJs. Shes bound to know some bits of trivia about bands and DJs she knows - that's only natural. If your main hobby is festivals and music you will know about the people involved, you dont just listen to the music and ignore everything about the people behind it. I'm not explaining what I mean very well, but cant think how else to word it

I'm really into music (mainly house and dance) and I didn't know Fatboy Slim ever got with Zoe Ball, that he had a son or that any of them were from Brighton. No-one my age really listens to radio 2 and while I've heard of Fatboy Slim, he was really before my time. None of my friends watching the show had a clue who Woody was! I really don't think he's that well known....

Also, Ella's so vocal I'm sure she would have yelled "I KNOW WHO THAT IS" to herself if she did actually know

Hmm OP their wedding and their split were both heavily featured in the tabloids, most famously Ball was photographed with fags in one hand and a bottle of JD in the other whilst in her wedding dress.

Then she cheated on him with some bloke who literally looked like a tramp and it was front page

I don't think Ella knows who woody is. Young people don't listen to radio 2.

I remember Woody being born etc but both zoe and fatboy slim have been out of the celeb news stories for years. I remembered they were married and had a kid but didn't twig until i watched his VT.

I guess they can vote for whoever, so it would all probably be allowed if they formed a team.

Hmm, I do read a lot of DM Sidebar of Shame lol, but I don't follow Strictly or her show so that might be why I've not come across her much.

Also, I like how Beth and Jack got together but it was just sort of slipped into the show all nonchalant - I didn't want The Circle to turn into a "can I pull you for a chat, I think me and you have a connection" Love Island-style show! But they were sweet 😊

I doubt Ella has guessed who Woody is - she would have only been 6 when he was born and they’re not currently in the news very often. Being able to sing a couple of the most famous Fatboy Slim songs and knowing the name/ age/ hometown of his son are miles apart. I wouldn’t assume she listens to Radio 2 or knows much about Zoe Ball either, I don’t think 24 year olds are generally the target audience. I think it would be quite a leap for the contestants to make the link between Woody & his parents, especially as they may well be assuming Woody is a nickname and not his given name.

I do agree Ella not asking any more about Paul McCartney was odd, but I think that the chats are time-limited and so she was more interested in getting to talk about the game and hunt the catfish before The Circle told them to wrap up the chat than dwell on the bit about his parents. I guess maybe she figures there’ll be plenty of time to find out more about who Woody is when they get out.

I think Ella has twigged woody is rich! With all the travel and festivals etc it's not really in the budget of most 18 year olds. She may even wonder if his parents are well known. With the Paul McCartney story. I think she tactically didn't ask anymore information as she doesn't want him to tell her and then people know she knows and question her motives iyswim. However I don't think she is a big enough fan of with Fatboy slim or Zoe ball to know that their sons name or possibly even that they have a son together. I agree with pp that neither of them have that big of a fan base in the under 30s anymore.

Good call on the chats being time limited, that would explain why they’re always leaving them after a short time, when you’d think with them all being outgoing personalities and being alone in an apartment they’d want to be talking about themselves constantly

It must be pretty boring in there - no tv, radio, phone etc, and no going,outside. I’m surprised they haven’t got cabin fever.

Last year the rankings were a bit different you gave everyone 1-5 stars and the highest combined total won.

Last time the players did a finale ranking at that decided who won the 50k then a public vote decided who won the other 50k out of the last 4

Last year there were two votes, a public vote and a Players vote. Kate/Alex both?

I’m not sure whether I don’t like this new Sammie/james, or admire him for playing the game. He’s the most openly strategic. Woody is going to hate the comments James making about brown-nosing etc, whilst he is just being himself. If Mr Cook and Ms Ball are reading this, you should be proud of your son!
