The Circle is back on tonight (Channel 4, 9:15) and I am soooooo excited

SpanishFly I rewound it about four times it was very strange... poss that's his theory and he hasn't said anything to anyone in case he's wrong and doesn't want to look the bad guy? As accusing a single mum of being fake if he's wrong wouldn't prove very popular.

Thinking of Woody talking to Joyce about how people treat him when they know who his parents are, I wonder if Woody will see a change when Ella finds out who he really is. Tim won't know them, so it shouldn't affect that friendship
I'm glad this is the final week. Some of it is making me uncomfortable now with the alliances and the game-playing and the bitchiness.I hope James does have some small relative he can take to visit Tim at Christmas. If he doesn't, we should find a MNer with a small child who is willing to make Tim their adopted grandfather.

Just caught up, my thoughts...

I know James is just playing the game and I know anyone can be anything but the chats between him and Tim do make me uncomfortable with this kind of catfish playing on emotions like that!

The game was interesting I think it's showed people's game plans apart from 'josh' I genuinely don't get what she's trying to do with that character it's worse than Joyce and jack and Beth has no say in that character! And why is she annoyed at people saying she isn't genuine she isn't!! strange!

I completely agree with this. I like James/Sammie I think he's really funny and clever. I'm glad him & Paddy have realised what's happening particularly with Ella, very cringe behaviour calling Jan "mama bear" already she's been in one night! Ella & her army of best mates in there. I can't stand how she says "send" and flaps her arms/hands everywhere - every time! I hope she goes soon.

For me it's Sammie, Tim or Georgina (although she's going down in my estimation)

I find it odd this year how short the chats are and also how little info is being given, even when it's truthful. I'm kind of feeling like Tim is the only one we properly know much about. We know what jobs he's had, he'stalked about his husband, we know his pets, interests, places he's lived etc.
The chats are always a "hello" message followed by a question, vague reply, counter-reply, then "ah well, nice to chat, bye." Jan could have added so much to the Royal Wedding chat, but said nothing to add to what Tim said. I just dont understand why.
I remember them being longer and more in depth last year.
Also, I agree with a pp that it seems they must only be allowed X numbers of chats per day - and they possibly have to decide in advance who they are with

I think they are editing Georgia to make her look bad tbh she's more real than Ella, ella is getting way to big for her boots tbh, and I think she knows who woody is that's why she made a beeline for him from day one. "Josh" is just annoying all this school business would have been believable if she had gone in as herself there just seems nothing there at all.
I was thinking when they did the interview with Brooke and revealed that josh was infact" a young black woman who thought she would do better as a privileged white boy" what must brooke have thought as she did go in as what Busayo was pretending not to be!! I'd have been quite offended.
I want Georgina to win I think they are editing her badly at the minute but she's always been real.

And yes agree we know nothing about any of them really bar Tim.

Ella is like a mirror that reflects back people's interests but gives nothing of herself. Even when she's alone in her flat, she's mentioned her mum once but nothing else. Georgina mentioned her brothers, her Crohns'. James has talked about his mum, his girlfriend. Tim has told us about his husband, his job, his past. Paddy has mentioned his dad dying, his cerebal palsy. Brooke mentioned her studies, languages, mum.

LolaDabestest but have they told the others about each of them? Or is it just the viewers who know? I.e. we know about James' girlfriend and past, but do the contestants know anything in depth about Sammie? I just feel like theres deliberate vagueness in their chats, then no attempt from the others to find out more. Tim is constantly trying to find out about their lives. the others tend to do it purely to try to catch out a lie.

Mmmm they are either self centred or the in-depth chats aren't shown, Obviously harder for catfish to talk about family etc but I think we still know more about James family I.e his mum being a single mum etc than we know about Ella or paddy.

I thought it was really really strange that Woody said he used to live next door to Paul McCartney and that his dad was friends with him and no one asked anything more about it, not even how did you end up living near him? have you met any other famous people through him? what’s he like? What do your parents do that you ended up living there? Literally no interest from them at all? Bizarre.

Josh/Busayo is really annoying me, and I'm a bit confused as to how much of her is real. I thought that she was essentially going in as herself (same job, opinions etc), but under the veneer of a white, middle class, male. She is so caught up in proving her point that she is losing any semblence of the personality she is trying to show.

Sammie/James overreacted to Woody's comment about it not being about the money, but we viewers have the benefit of knowing that what Woody said is actually true. It was just bad timing that Woody's turn was after him, and he was't referring to Sammie directly.

Most of the answers were rather disingenous. Personally I wouldn't have had an issue with anyone saying they wanted it to buy a house, car, fancy holiday etc, all this giving "i'm only doing it for charity" business has actually put me off some of them. James's seemed the most believable of all the charity claims.

It will be interesting to see what Brooke thinks on the live show on Friday, once she has seen a bit more of what is actually happening.

Yes the I’m going to give it to charity replies would automatically make me think they were up to something, I don’t think that there are many young people who could afford to give that kind of cash away, so if they’d said I’m going to put a deposit on a house and give 10% of it to xyz charity because of (personal connection to charity) I’d be more inclined to believe them.

If you genuinely were a young single mum you'd be putting the money away for your child to help with their education/ help with childcare costs so you could train for a career. Giving it away makes you sound like a totally loaded single mum. 100k isn't that much.

The Circle have put up a video on their Twitter page, where they reveal the catfish to Jack and Beth. Wonder why they're doing it on Twitter and not the live show?

Kurri I think Friday is the only live show left so probably too much to do it live and keep it all under control, esp when2 people would be talking over each other constantly. They'll show that Twitter video, I guess.

Last nights episode nearly made me pass out I was so worried for Tim. I had hoped for sammie to be in the final with Tim, Woody and Ella but he showed bow manipulative he is last night.

I so would have Tim as grampa for my children, they have no grandparents. I'm all for him on instagram I even tag #timsbiggestfan

I hope Beth and Jack are genuine about each other and it's not a fake romance for the cameras. They seem really sweet together on the twitter video.

I tend to think the ones who have made it this far from the beginning have done well if they win or not. I do wonder what they do when not watched. Tim seems to be always in bed with his cat which is concerning. I hope they have books jigsaws musical instruments etc to keep them busy. I don't think it matters if Tim wins or goes tomorrow. He does show the most genuine interest in the others.
