Last thread was full.

I posted this in the last thread but will post again here. It’s what I understand they’ve done to Norris’s house.

I'm not enjoying this Geoff and Yasmine storyline at all. It's awful he's an absolutely awful character! Hope it doesn't go on too long

JemimaTab · 09/11/2019 12:36

I’m the same re the Geoff storyline - he’s awful and I can’t actually bear to watch it (I fast forward through his bits). Not that the rest of it is much better. That business with the headstone was odd - was it meant to be funny? And I don’t like how the Barlows (especially the sanctimonious Ken) are acting over Sinead’s death when they weren’t that great to her when she was alive - whereas Beth (though she can be awful) is genuinely grieving.
And yes the Gary business is daft. He was in the army for about 2 weeks or something, and his security thing in Ukraine (or wherever it was) was not much longer.

The Windasses were the ones that caused Joe's financial ruin (he was a self employed kitchen fitter , Gail's DH and Tina's dad) .

They ordered and had fitted a luxe kitchen then IIRC refused to pay and either destroyed or removed it .

Then- ended up living on the street where (of course) had complete personality changes ...doesn't everyone ? Anna ended up working in Roys Rolls , being everyone's darling and pushing her hair back every 5 minutes

Gary can go from quite sweet ( I know, I know) in his gold Hallowe'en suit ( "only on special occasions" ) to a right scrote .

He was lovely on the Chase Celebrity Special, I think The Governess had a twinkle in her eye for him Grin

IWorkAtTheCheescakeFactory · 09/11/2019 13:16

I hate the Gary character more than I hated Phelan

At least phelan could actually pull off the villain thing. It takes more than having one “constipated Face” look Gary!

Clawdy · 09/11/2019 18:41

And that stupid menacing whisper......

SgtFredColon · 09/11/2019 23:35

I thought Shona looked lovely even in the bedsheet. Wonder where she’ll go for maternity leave.

Clawdy · 10/11/2019 08:45

It's going to be a difficult one, as she's so attached to those kids and David, so can't imagine a storyline where she leaves voluntarily. Perhaps one of David's evil prison friends will shoot her in revenge, and she'll be in hospital for weeks.....

Deadringer · 10/11/2019 21:11

Maybe the ghastly Clayton will have a horrible accident and Shona will rush to his bedside, or did that already happen?

NCTDN · 10/11/2019 22:25

I'm glad David was released. Not glad that Robert and his ridiculous situation have returned though.

ajandjjmum · 11/11/2019 09:42

For the first time ever, I fast-forwarded through the scenes that involved the awful Geoff and Yasmin, and also Gary. I don't watch Corrie to get my blood pressure increasing, it's supposed to be gentle relaxation with the odd bit of oomph thrown in. Please writers, if that's the way you want to go, head of to write some (rubbish) drama, and let's get some scriptwriters in who understand what Corrie is to the viewers.

Clawdy · 11/11/2019 10:01

Geoff was a sweet and warm character at first, a bit like Tim. He's become a bit of a monster very quickly, with no signs of the original nice guy, so it looks improbable that Yasmeen would put up with such a change. It's as if they said " Let do a coercive control story - which couple.....not them, not them, maybe them? OK. ...."

ajandjjmum · 11/11/2019 10:23

Spot on Clawdy.

Redshoeblueshoe · 11/11/2019 10:30

Clawdy I think you are spot on. The Archers did a very successful coercive control storyline, and I think they decided to do the same. I think that they originally wanted it to be Daniel, but then decided to do the cancer story.
I thought Geoff was nasty to Audrey when he first came in.

duckyandbunny · 11/11/2019 10:39

It's starting to get uncomfortable to watch IMO

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 11/11/2019 12:14

Clawdy

Agreed and instill believe they were going to do it with Daniel and Sinead. Then Signed decided to quit so they had to change the couple.

Back when Daniel was starting to get all controling of her, checking phones and the like..

thenightsky · 11/11/2019 20:37

Yes, I also seem to recall that Geoff was a bit cruel to Audrey.

And [yawn] at yet another long-lost relative emerging.

woodhill · 11/11/2019 20:52

Is Gemma's dm a Classic CF. Who would put up with her.

Hating Geoff. Boo

IamHyouweegobshite · 11/11/2019 20:54

I'm sure that house that Roy went to, was the same one Phelan was doing up, and had Andy hostage in the cellar?

ellenanora5 · 11/11/2019 21:02

I too think that the story line was meant for Daniel, I remember posting sometime ago about how he was controlling, barging into the factory and demanding her to leave work and such, I've never liked him and I don't care if he never comes back from Scotland, and he cheated on his dying wife, the complete and utter sod.

Gary is bloody dreadful
Michelle will find out about Roberts double life soon
I hate Geoff, he's playing it well though to be fair to him.

17million · 12/11/2019 10:29

How did Gemma (awful character who is now metamorphosing into some kind of earth mother) after delivering 4 babies, having a CSECtion manage to more or less run up the stairs when they arrived home Shock - I know it is Corrie land where everyone has a private room in hospital and visitors at any time Smile

MrsSteveMcDonald · 12/11/2019 10:52

I think that Geoff acted all friendly to Audrey in the hospital but then played Shaddap You Face instead of the song she asked for. Think he also buggered off and left her in there on her own so she had to carry on with his show

Thesearmsofmine · 12/11/2019 13:19

I agree the story was meant for Daniel. I think when Geoff was horrible to Audrey it was meant to be funny at the time rather than paint him as a horrible person because when he came onto the street he was nice enough.

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 12/11/2019 20:55

God knows why anyone would fancy a decrepit old git like Geoff.

MrsScrubbingbrush · 13/11/2019 07:27

Because in Corrie you're only allowed to fancy somebody who lives on the street

ChevalierTialys · 13/11/2019 12:24

Gemma's post c-section recovery hasn't been the most realistic but at least they haven't given her the usual flat-belly-minutes-after-giving-birth treatment that they do with most soap ladies that have babies.. My c-section bump stayed massive and pregnant looking for months. In fact, I still get asked if I'm preg 4 years later.
