I posted this in the last thread but will post again here. It’s what I understand they’ve done to Norris’s house.

I totally agree. They've ruined what was a perfect and poignant story.

I don't really care about Sinead or Daniel but wish Bethany hadn't been dragged into this Can't she just go off to university, learn lots of things, have a lovely time and make something of her life?

I love Corrie but Sineads death has been handled so badly. She went from nice to nasty in a flash!

So out of character as she'd been sickly sweet up until that point!
The video to Bertie was one big cliche and her mum and nan are at Beth and Kirks in tears one minute then they don't even make it to her deathbed!!!
And don't even get me started on the Platts! This whole David/Josh storyline is ridiculous - it's just conveniently setting up the actress who plays Shona's maternity leave!!

I forgot it was on this evening. Can someone fill me in on what happened?

I ended up fast forwarding the Sinead video bit because it was prolonged and curiously unmoving. How unbelievable that Daniel would have confessed, causing people to hate him, and Bethany. He would have told a white lie to protect Sinead and let her end her days without the pain of thinking he'd betrayed her. The whole storyline has been ruined.

Beth and Kirk were looking after Sinead and slagging off Daniel (possible future custody battle set up as Beth said "Kirby is more of a dad to Bertie than he is".

Daniel was found passed out by the canal
Everyone had a go at Daniel
Sinead made a cheesy video for baby Bertie
Tracey made Sinead and Daniel talk and she said she forgave him as Bertie needs him

So I didn't miss much then.

@Clawdy I just don't think Daniel would have kissed Bethany in the first place. Totally out of character. I ask don't get Sinead being so mean to him at that meal - it just wouldn't happen she's always been so wet and simpering

They're really spending a lot of time on this Sinead story line. I know it's a big deal a young mum dying and stuff but I don't remember Corrie really laying it on as thick before.
Kirkby singing to Bertie, him being a better dad than his dad, recording tearful videos etc. They're really.wanting to get the viewers invested and upset.. eyeing up some soap award I'd wager.
I don't remember the over the top 'drama' when Hayley died and she'd been it donkeys years. Maybe they did and I just forgot, all I remember is touching scenes with her a Roy at Blackpool and the like.

Probably because Sinead is half Hayley's age and is leaving a small baby behind, makes it more poignant really.

Well, it should be poignant, I agree, but the way it's being done is just annoying and a bit cringey, which is so wrong.

Yes it really should’ve been poignant and heartbreaking. They had a real opportunity to do this amazingly well- they did so well with David’s rape and Aidan’s suicide. But they’ve totally ballsed this one up with all the distracting side stories.

Well I've now watched yesterday's episode, and found it one of the most tedious episodes ever. I suppose we'll now have to go through the death and the funeral and the eulogies. The only compensation is that Gary Windass has been off-screen for a while.

Wasn’t it bad enough with Sinead dying, they had to add to it all with this Bethany thing. I’m sure it puts people off watching. Who ARE these scrip writers? It’s beyond dire.

How much more poignant would it have been if they hadn't done this Bethany thing but instead showed Daniel being incredibly strong and supportive around Sinead, but then breaking down with his own family?
Turning to Adam for emotional support, who gives him a sympathetic ear and hug when Daniel needs it. They could have then shown Daniels and sineads love right up to the end, making her death even more impactful.

But they screw that up by chucking in this cheating story.. making any love shown by Daniel kind of hollow and almost meaningless.

To be fair I'd have been nasty to Daniel too after he tried to cancel my final family (and Xmas) meal and then tried to send people home because he thought I was tired (without even asking me!).

Poor Daniel is going to really suffer the wrath of 'aunt beth' who is the most horrible woman with zero redeeming features.
It's a shit story line, as a pp said they should've shown Daniel loving sinead and supporting her to the end instead of this. Yes he's grieving and did it thru grief but we will have to suffer all the crap that's gonna be thrown at him. Poor lad.

This episode seems as if it has been going on for hours. I'm just bored.

I'm in bits watching this. My dog's getting upset watching me!! They're doing quite an accurate job with it. Takes me right back to my friend dying this summer.😢😢
