It's like they're trying be to go for the arty and emotional style filming to underline the emotion of the plot, only the plot isn't good enough for it. And it doesn't work on a soap opera.

Ken is a serial adulterer, he is being very hard on Daniel in some ways

Ken is being stupidly hard on him. He was hard on Bethany when he walked up on them kissing, she was clearly pushing him away and saying we can't do this.

Not liking the storyline, with Sinead finding the notebook and guessing. Just wouldn't happen.

Feels like half the show is shot in the guinnel/tunnel or the little garden by the tram station. None of which existed before, and all of which feels a bit Eastenders!

I am a massive corrie fan but I must say what they've done with the Daniel /Bethany story is not nice to watch. Daniel and Sinead were a nice little love story which along with her cancer storyline was really heartbreaking. It has totally ruined it for me with Daniel even looking at another woman.

I quite agree bobstersmum. I ended up just wishing Daniel would roll into the canal (another arty lens shot), whereas a couple of weeks ago I cried at this storyline.

Where the hell is Sinead's mother? Her daughter, her only child as far as we have seen, is dying and not even a visit?

I’ve been wondering the same about Sinead’s mother and her gran who both managed to make it to the wedding but can’t make it to her deathbed.......Hmm the writers could not have made Sinead’s final days more painful if they tried, did they really have to twist the knife so much? What’s the betting though that in Sinead’s final scene she gives Daniel and Bethany her blessing it true soapland style....[hmmm]

It happens Deadringer. My friend died this year and her flaky, selfish mother never managed to visit her even once in the 18 months between diagnosis and death, yet posted woe is me, my daughter has cancer posts on Facebook. I'm liking how Sinead's, usually slapstick esque, aunty has turned into a loving carer.

I think auntie Beth and Kirk are the most believable at the moment and it was so sad when Kirk was talking to Bertie. Ken has no room to talk when it comes to being faithful.

Likely. I'd rather she died without forgiving him though, so Daniel has to live with that for the rest of his life. One can hope.

Yes Beth has really been there for Sinead their relationship is very touching and Kirk too. I wanted her to die in her aunty Beth’s arms tonight in her sleep Sad

I was just coming on to post to say where is Sinead's mom and nan. Lovely sad scene when Kirk was talking to Bertie. I am fast forwarding through the David thing. I probably missed a few. Who is Bethany living with?

I think she'll probably die before they've made up and Daniel/Ken will take it out on Bethany.

The scenes with Beth and Kirk with Sinead and Bertie last night were very touching. I wish they hadn’t had the Bethany and Daniel kiss, the storyline doesn’t need extra drama.

It was pretty grim last night. There’s no need for Sinead’s final days to be so horrible. Agree that the scenes with Beth and Kirk were touching but bloody hell, Sinead finding Bethany’s notebook and then Daniel going doolally down at the canal. They need better fencing up at that canal.

Poor wee Bethany’s had some life thus far.

I feel bad for it but I found that sinead video to Bertie stuff totally boring. It’s not invoking the emotion I think it’s supposed to be.

This is truly appalling. They’ve made sinead into a nasty resentful character in her final days. A story that totally didn’t need to happen. Her death should have been about just that. None of the rest of this crap. Why did they do this? It was totally unnecessary.
