QueenOfTheAndals · 26/09/2019 08:06

The BT ads! I knew I recognised her from somewhere!

mrsmuddlepies · 26/09/2019 08:34

Thank you so much Rhubarb. I appreciate you putting an end to my frustration! I thought I recognised her. I looked her up and she is best known for playing the lead in the BT series of adverts opposite Kris Marshall.
I am so enjoying this drama. It really cheers up Tuesday evenings.

The80sweregreat · 26/09/2019 09:41

I kept looking at Danny's wife thinking ' who is she?'
now i know! i still think he had an affair with the grey haired lady, although i did think they were married the other day so what do i know?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 26/09/2019 12:51

I reckon this series kind of requires a venn diagram or mind-mapping.

Shaun and Rachel are the 'innocents' aren't they? Is there a real reason why Shaun has been stitched up or is it a convenient way to distract from other motives for Hannah's murder? Clearly the latter must have been planned in advance? In which case was Shaun being cleared also part of the conspiracy?

QueenOfTheAndals · 26/09/2019 13:50

I only caught up with it last night and glad to see I wasn't the only one who said "So would I" when the lawyer said "Guess you want to know what the fuck's going on"!

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/09/2019 14:48

I recognise her from queer as folk and casualty

Italiangreyhound · 26/09/2019 14:57

Wingedharpy "I think something will happen to Nadia Latif as she is now driving a car that "the baddies" - whoever they are - will expect Rachel to be driving." Good point.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 "Do you think it was significant that the CCTV feed of Hannah on the bus showed her turning round (as if she thought someone was following her)?"

Yes, i do, I noticed that.

SoupDragon "I was going to see how close Eaton Square and Gastor Square are but I can't find Gastor Square on google. I assume they made it up." It was Castor Square I think. i think it is made up, I think.

Omikron · 26/09/2019 15:00

Definitely Gastor

Omikron · 26/09/2019 15:00

Or maybe GastoN

Deathraystare · 26/09/2019 15:49

Well, I did my usual trick. Saw the first episode. Forgot the tile then and when it is on. Do not know how many episodes I missed but saw it this week? Was it on Tuesday because I got back from my Aunt's (who has no tv) and I think it was on (or was it yesterday????

SoupDragon · 26/09/2019 16:39

It was Castor Square I think

Definitely Gastor as I rewatched on iPlayer just to check 😂 It's definitely made up because the two houses are actually the same Eaton Square house with different front doors. Yes, I checked on Streetview, saddo that I am. There are some distinctive cracks in the facade and the street signs/lights are all numbered.

Grambler · 26/09/2019 16:56

At the start of watching I said did they want Hannah dead or did they want Shaun framed and now I'm still not sure. I also did the "yes I would like to know what the fuck is going on" back at the telly Grin

definitelyshouldknowbetter · 26/09/2019 18:03

Did anyone else think it was significant that the female that took Shaun to the rave made a comment along the lines of apologising for bringing him there because of the lights and noise, like maybe she knew something about him, possible PTSD from Afghan maybe?
Also they left a pause in the conversation when Shaun was talking to his ex when she said that the police asked if he’d ever been violent, I think there is going to be definitely more to Shaun than we know but I think he’s been some kind of experiment for the MoD it had some kind of trauma in Afghan.

SoupDragon · 26/09/2019 18:27

I think Hannah was involved in the same group as her lawyer partner. I think the Powers That Be wanted her dead before she challenged the Sycamore CCTV. Shaun was a convenient scapegoat.

humansympathique · 26/09/2019 18:37

Q is wtf is going on?
Short A is no fukin idea
We know a bit more about the characters than the plot. I strongly suspect we will end up with 50 shades of grey over black&white cos thats what classy dramas do. Coukd still be one seriously bad (or even mad) player tho. Going from white to black. Shaun's ex and rachel are innocents. Shaun cd be the big twist but im sticking with his ex's character reference - v troubled but moral. Wouldnt be at all surprised if he did kill the defenceless taliban and suggestion of his mind being fuked with in military. Rachels murder squad boss cd reappear as a bad man, but why? not seen any reason to doubt him. Matty is surely a ot device. Going more black, Mr grey guv of so15 obvs knows stuff and has fitted up terror plotters but has given rach fair direction & doesnt know who killed hannah - compromised all round but no more. We know what frank is all about - been doing this forever, hard as teak, cool as a cuc, violence no problem for his ops, almost invulnerable, spying on the spies - reckon hes a straight do bad things to stop the badder ppl. Amazingly doesnt seem to know who killed hannah. Gemma garland hmmm .... kinda set out as the corrupt 1, gotta b ss, in deep with frank and v senior. Frank seemed to give licence for her to do whatever to neutralise rach and she just took her off the case - reckon she is cold hard but ok sd anyone is in that sorta world! Really unsure if one of rach's 2 cops are playing her, but cant be the kingpin. That leaves mr 'human rights'lawyer as hannahs killer. Got a half arsed theory why but dont want to embarrass myself too muchSmile

Babybel90 · 30/09/2019 21:29

Am I the only one that assumed the girl that was leading Shaun was setting him up in some way, help me over a wall, stand here, do this... so the CCTV could be manipulated later to look like he’s stalking her? I’m not sure what’s going on and I’m not sure I’ll know by the time the series ends either. I do like the dad from Friday Night Dinner though, I think ‘hello bambino’s’ every time he pops up on screen 🤣

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 30/09/2019 21:37

@humansympathique loving your long theorising post. I am totally not sure what is going on. Difficult to tell at this point who is good and who is 'bad'.

It did seem rather strange that Alma (which means soul which in itself could be significant?) said she was taking him to the rave so they could talk without being heard, then basically didn't say much to him, certainly nothing of real significance.

Puffthemagicdragongoestobed · 30/09/2019 21:39

Yes I was wondering that too! And I had been suspicious of his solicitor right from the start! Hopefully Rachel will find the whole truth soon enough and get him out of it.
Can’t wait for the next episode tomorrow!

longwayoff · 01/10/2019 06:18

I'm enjoying this a lot. Haven't a clue as to what's going on which is nice, most tv so predictable that you can see how it will all work out.

humansympathique · 01/10/2019 12:11

Hi babybel & new model. Wasnt it weird how alma was directing shaun's actions. I felt sure he was gonna tell her to f off just for being so bossySmile
I think the cctv set up is a really strong idea!
Remember he was taken to the warehouse because that was the groups hq or at least where they were mtg. The rave might well provide a perfect shield from surveillance for the group but not 4 shaun and alma to talk.
The group seemed might be a sortof evangelical activist anti-state group which cd easily imagine the lawyer asa charismatic messianic leader. But he cd be playing the group? Wont pretend any of this makes sense, but i did wonder if they not only resembled an evangelical group but were actually an extreme christian sect - crusader types set against islamists. No doubt this will prove to be wrong wrong wrong tonite. Enjoy

SisterFarAway · 01/10/2019 15:09

I watched three episodes on iplayer so far, will catch up with last week's and today's tomorrow as I'll be working tonight. I find it quite interesting, but hard to follow at times

When they were filming at Eaton Square and surrounding areas I managed to walk into shots twice, once coming out of a building and once turning a corner when their security were to busy playing games on the phone.
What I found interesting is that some of the cars in the ES scenes were not "planted" there for filming, but belong to residents there.
Small tidbit: The "entrance" to #48 is actually the entrance to #42, IIRC 48 is owned as a complete building (one door bell) whereas 42 is several flats.
Disclaimer: I know someone who lives on that side of the Square and who was "really inconvenienced" by the filming

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/10/2019 15:19

Hopefully tonight’s will reveal more

Lawyers partner dodgy

Maybe Hannah was working for the American Ron

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/10/2019 21:12

HAnnah was in on it 🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀

Is she really dead ?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 01/10/2019 21:19

So many twists,

purpleme12 · 01/10/2019 21:26
