Couldn't see another thread for it. I'm hoping it's going to be good.

Just watched it on catch up, me and DH were also commenting on all the IKEA!

I think Nicky got lucky, her room basically didn't work. The storage was so badly thought through and impractical. I think they kept her as she's previously done well whereas Jerome has been middling throughout.

I thought Cassie's was a bit meh but ok. Loved the colourful kitchen and Frank's crazy lino! The other kitchen was very poor but fair play to Kyle for admitting he'd not held up his end of it

Enjoyed it more last night.

Loved the jolly kitchen - practical and studenty without too much wankiness.

I liked Jerome's and feel he was unlucky to be told to leave.

Agree that Nicky was lucky to stay in.

Dyeing polyester curtains - WTF! Schoolchild error.

Kyle is my favourite so far i think - he has an eye for design and even though he didn't quite pull it off this time I think he has flair and potential which the others lack. In my eyes, he's a designer and the others are dressers. He's also quite self-deprecating and acknowledged his weaknesses which suggests a willingness to learn from mistakes.

Looking forward to next week now.

I think Nicky should have gone, her room didn't work and wasn't practical. Jerome was punished for shopping, in a student let items need to be easily replaceable and hard-wearing, he did fine for that.

I'm loving the show so far - interesting to see a mix of small scale commercial projects instead of just the usual residential stuff. Have to say though, I feel for the designers when they're criticised for things being poor quality when their budgets are laughably small and apparently they had to use materials and items they could get with 2 days notice. Rather them than me!

Putting a mattress on top of a piece of hard MDF would be so bloody uncomfortable. Might as well sleep on the floor.

If I was a student paying ££ amount I'd want a proper bloody bed. An actual full size one. Ju's looked no bigger than a toddler bed!

Even a normal single with drawer underneath could have doubled as a sofa.

They can have their storage at the wardrobe end if better thought out.

Honestly, most of them don't seem to live in the real world. The whole point of student accommodation is that things need to be easily replaceable. Bespoke furniture is pointless here.

I never even thought about the mattresses being plonked on top of wood, that would be really uncomfortable.

I’ve just found this series and thought there must be a thread about it on MN! Been nodding along with all the comments here. I do like the judge though, love her look and she isn’t trying to make it all about her (unlike that “Ding Dong” woman from the Make up artist show in the same format).

I'm gutted Jerome went and in definitely going to check his Instagram out. Why the actual fuck were they making cabin beds for 18 year olds? Climb in for a s shag? I hated the colourful kitchen, floor was ok though. The other kitchen was more suitable for adults/university students.

Frank's a twat and I'd quite like Kyle to win.

I too liked the bright kitchen and particularly the geometric lino floor...although, having once inherited a black & white tiled kitchen floor, I wish them good luck with keeping it clean - and in a student house?!

Ju's room was also my favourite, although Kyle's would have been better had he managed to finish and paint his woodwork. Agree that he's one to watch.

Still can't be doing with Frank, and Jerome - pffft. Didn't they say right at the start that people would be penalised for shopping? And I noticed the judge saying that his colour scheme was a carbon copy of his own living room at home!

The beds did look tiny though....

They were right in sending Jerome home this week. They keep saying that it is interior design not shopping and Jerome did more shopping than designing over the weeks.

I agree about jerome, but he does have a good eye.
I need him to shop for a few things for my home

Really enjoying this programme but agree that the judging is questionable. I like the variety of the challenges though... shops, student rooms etc.

I have never seen great interior design challenge but found two series on Netflix and I'm hooked! I think it's far better than this new series. I generally agree with the judges decisions. They also have longer to complete, 3 days I think.

Anyone watching tonight? I feel like Frank is going to kill Cassie.

I loved Ju's and Nicki's the other not so much. Hated the blue wallpaper and the unpainted wood on the fire place

She should have went for the wallpaper alone.
