God knows we could all do with some cheering up, so the hot news is that SLEB MASTERCHEF WILL BE RETURNING SOON

Not sure exactly when but we need time to anticipate, non?

I thought all four of this group were pretty good, much better than Joey Essex's group. It's a shame two of them have to go, they're all way better than Joey.

I really don’t enjoy these rounds where they go to a workplace or the professional kitchen.

They never seem to count for anything in the eliminations. There is always so much shouting and yelling, why? The script is the same for every single challenge.

I much prefer when they are in the Masterchef kitchen, either cooking their own recipes or going into the larder and choosing food to a brief.

It used to be such an easy watch. Now Wallace seems to have 75 per cent of the air time and I’m sick of him.

Agree Starks, utterly pointless, both of them. Can you imagine arriving somewhere happily looking forward to a nice meal and being presented with sleb slop? In a restaurant? I assume the customers are there by invitation rather than simply hopefully dropping in?

At least in the professional kitchen, sometimes you can see the chef taking over so that the food goes out on time and OK.

I’m hoping for one of following:

  • someone drops their dish on the floor
  • someone cooks something incredible for a change
  • Gregg falls in a vat of custard and they have to draft in Monica as a last minute replacement

I'm going to skip it tonight. I've had a really awful day courtesy of my offspring so I'm listening to Josh Groban and drinking red wine instead of watching inept celebrities try to cook.

Enjoy it; hopefully see you all next week. We're on holiday so who knows whether I'll be able to watch.

Didn't do anything fancy for dinner tonight cos I did home made carbonara yesterday and my toof hurts again today (well my phantom toof!)
