Do you secretly enjoy children's tv?

So I'm not at this stage yet of son watching many tv shows (he's 9 months and only watches 1 or 2 and not very often) but I've seen threads on here about how some of you hate certain TV shows. My question is do you secretly enjoy them/one?

Last night son was being a pain to settle so I took him into the living room (we live in a flat) while partner said he was going on Netflix (he had put son down for the night). So when son finally settled and fell asleep I put him in his cot. And partner was falling asleep so I went to go to the home page of Netflix but partner woke up and he asked what I was doing and he paused it and I saw he was watching pj masks. I asked him why he was watching it and he said he likes it.

He told me not to tell anyone because they would make fun of him.

So it turns out he enjoys pj masks.

I enjoy Octonauts, Go Jetters, PJ masks, Mr Tumble and Hey Duggie. I don't mind some Thomas and I tolerate Peppa.

My partner has gotten quite into True and the Magic Kingdom on Netflix xD

When I was a nanny I really loved Sarah Jane Chronicles as well and a bit of Blue Peter!

FleurNancy · 08/08/2019 01:19

I used to quite happily watch endless episodes of Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom. But I'd rather scoop my eyes out with a fork than watch most other stuff.

PatricksRum · 08/08/2019 04:27

I love Peppa Pig Blush

Mileysmiley · 08/08/2019 04:35

No! I hate it especially Peppa Pig grunt grunt!!

Peralta · 08/08/2019 04:39

I like Hey Duggee.

There is an Australian show called Bluey which I love. And a NZ show called Kiri & Lou which is so cute. I watch both these without my son. Grin

Ivegotthree · 08/08/2019 05:48

Urgh children's telly is the absolute WORST.

ListenLinda · 08/08/2019 06:03

I have seen far too many episodes of Peppa Pig, Ben & Holly, Paw Patrol, PJ Masks, Vampirina etc etc

Hey duggee is okay, Paw patrol every now and again.

DD going through a Justins House phase and I want to stab myself in the eyes and poor oil in my ears. Can’t stand it!

Ohyesiam · 08/08/2019 06:19

Only Horrible History and I’m Sorry I’ve Got No Head. The rest was drivel.

PeacefulInTheDeep · 08/08/2019 13:41

I love Hey Duggee! Both mine and DS's faces light up when the tune comes on Grin

PantsyMcPantsface · 08/08/2019 18:46

I like the stuff that's got jokes and references in it that are more aimed at adults - Ben and Holly and Hey Duggee are particularly brilliant at it. Go Jetters just because some of the stuff Glitch does is bloody amusing.

Horrible Histories is fantastic (but I've had the Queen Victoria Prime Ministers song wedged in my head for weeks now) and Operation Ouch on CBBC too (mine are kind of that age of tipping over from Cbeebies now). Plus Danger Mouse is as fantastic as it was back in the 1980s.

Oh yeah and Numberblocks is bloody superb from a primary teacher point of view - I love how it explains things. Quite pissed off my kids are away when they've been introducing new Numberblocks so I've missed it them to be honest.

Dirtyjellycat · 08/08/2019 18:54

I love Go Jetters as I learn about different places in the world! I also found myself recording Apple Tree House the other day as I wanted to know what happened in the end....
I’m sad. Very, very sad.

ElspethFlashman · 08/08/2019 18:55

Storybots on Netflix is absolutely brilliant. The songs are really contemporary, they're kinda trip-hop, and are so catchy.

It's so educational, I'm ashamed to say I've learnt loads BlushBlushBlush DS was telling everyone about DNA the other day!

Kids are OBSESSED and it's fine by me.

My favourite song is the one about the Night. It keeps popping back into my head.

Mumtotwo82 · 08/08/2019 18:57

I think 'Charlie and Lola' is really sweet and puffin rock and I enjoy watching that with my youngest. With my oldest I like to watch 'wild kratts' it teaches you all about animals

KipperTheFrog · 08/08/2019 18:58

Hey Duggee is good. Ben and Holly is ok. The rest is not.

UnicornCat · 08/08/2019 19:00

My DS is only 10 months but I do like Hey Duggee and Molang😳Piu Piu is really cute in Molang!

Benes · 08/08/2019 19:01

Horrible histories is bloody brilliant! I'm so glad its currently my 4 year olds favourite programme.

I also really like loads of the kids films and I'm really enjoying revisiting Disney

ElspethFlashman · 08/08/2019 19:03

Yeah Molang is really popular in this house, I wish it was longer. "Oh no! Piu Piu!" Grin

Gigglebiz is hilarious. The Mary Berry character cracks me up.

RabidRabbles · 08/08/2019 19:08

When my older DC outgrew CBeebies, I missed having an excuse to watch Balamory. I think we had our own ruder versions of pretty much all of the songs. :o

My youngest now watches CBBC instead. I love Horrible Histories, Pets Factor, and Operation Ouch.

pegspurplecat · 08/08/2019 19:19

Well clearly I love Peg + Cat! I also love Ben & Holly, Hey Duggee and My Little Pony, which is odd coz I hated it when I was little.

pipnchops · 08/08/2019 19:32

I am glad to see others on here like peppa pig, i actually get quite excited when one comes on that I haven't seen before! I like that there are bits put in to amuse grown ups too. I like that they are all speak well and everything is narrated so I think it's great fit language development unlike Bing which is the opposite and really annoys me. Although i love flop, so patient, what a star.

pipnchops · 08/08/2019 19:34

Love Ben and Holly too, again for the jokes for grown ups.

DtPeabodysLoosePants · 08/08/2019 20:19

Dragons is the favourite in this house spanning the age groups of 4, 10, 12, and 43 Grin It's funny and not your average children's programme. We like Horrible Histories too.

megletthesecond · 08/08/2019 20:23

Yes.
Octonauts and peppa pig when mine were small.
Operation Ouch, Blue Peter and Horrible Histories now they're older.

megletthesecond · 08/08/2019 20:24

Oh and Show me what you're made of.
That's opened my dc's eyes to how spoilt they are.
