Do you secretly enjoy children's tv?

So I'm not at this stage yet of son watching many tv shows (he's 9 months and only watches 1 or 2 and not very often) but I've seen threads on here about how some of you hate certain TV shows. My question is do you secretly enjoy them/one?

Last night son was being a pain to settle so I took him into the living room (we live in a flat) while partner said he was going on Netflix (he had put son down for the night). So when son finally settled and fell asleep I put him in his cot. And partner was falling asleep so I went to go to the home page of Netflix but partner woke up and he asked what I was doing and he paused it and I saw he was watching pj masks. I asked him why he was watching it and he said he likes it.

He told me not to tell anyone because they would make fun of him.

So it turns out he enjoys pj masks.

Depends on the show.. I will happily watch Sarah and Duck once the kids have left the room. Something about it totally chills me out. Bing on the other hand....

HoneyWheeler · 06/08/2019 16:24

I love Hey Duggee too! It's the best!

BillywigSting · 06/08/2019 16:41

I’ve probably scared OP away but really, the brilliance of this 😂
The country and disco are particularly good

I love miraculous, tales of lady bug and cat noir, I'll tell my husband off for talking when it's on.

22Giraffes · 07/08/2019 09:33

Love love love Hey Duggee! 'Ello darrrrlins, I'm chuchu the panda Grin

Also enjoy horrible histories, as a pp said the Monarchy song is fab and a really clever way of learning! May or may not have listened to it on repeat recently Blush

Does anyone know the name of the ostrich in Hey Duggee? I want to send my sister that disco one but she'll never watch the whole thing to find it - and she won't scroll forward either - so good if I can find it on it's own.

I think it's based on Whitney Houston - Wanna Dance with Somebody, amirite? Grin

I liked Ben & Holly and was quite sad when my Son outgrew it. Wise Old Elf and Nanny Plum are pretty funny. I quite enjoyed Go Jetters too.

He’s into Teen Titans and Phineas & Ferb at the moment and they’re good: good music and fairly amusing.

Sparklingbrook · 07/08/2019 22:23

I have favourite episodes of Spongebob. Blush

ellenanora5 · 07/08/2019 22:30

With ds2 i was quite partial to Handy Manny back in the day and Timothy goes to School Grin

Way back ds1 loved Tilly Tom and Tiny and Postman Pat, I never objected to watching them either Grin

Crochetcrochetcrochet · 07/08/2019 22:40

Hey Duggee!
Sarah and duck is just lovely
I like Octonauts

Plenty that drive me beserk, but those I'd happily watch.

RosaWaiting · 07/08/2019 22:51

Sparkling that made me lol. I’ve actually never seen it.

I thiink Sarah and Duck might be good pre bed viewing for me, like a toddler, I find it hard to wind down for bed Grin

sausageandrashers · 07/08/2019 22:54

Sarah and duck is my favourite. Such a lovely world they live in, hey duggee is good and I don't mind octonauts. Wild Kratts and magic school bus are both pretty good. Justin Time is ok. Adventure time and teen titans are quite funny. Some are totally mind numbing and awful but some are actually alright thank goodness! Clearly some cartoon makers take pity on the poor parents having to watch them!

Longdistance · 07/08/2019 22:55

Erm, I don’t like watching it but if Peppa pig is on I like to reminisce.

Though sometimes the tv has been left on with the kids channel and dh and I have been watching whatever crap has been on and we haven’t changed the channel.

Jamhandprints · 07/08/2019 23:00

Love Octonauts, Miraculous and My Little Pony...Lots of watchable stuff on CBeebies....But plenty that is awful too. I'm not a fan of the Nightgarden. Makes me dizzy.

Monday55 · 07/08/2019 23:07

I love Spongebob
...I can't stand Disney.

brusselsprout5 · 07/08/2019 23:20

I used to enjoy some of the adult type jokes in Peppa pig! My son is obsessed with Thomas & Friends so I know a LOT about trains.Confused not sure I'd go as far as to say I enjoy it.

Never really understood Hey Duggee and his badges!

I enjoy a bit of Octobauts & I occasionally think about running my hands through Andy from CBeebies hair at times while riding a dinosaur!

Can't stand Justin though! Shock

Singleandproud · 07/08/2019 23:27

I didn’t really like toddler tv, although would happily watch something special, gigglebiz and Katie Morag. I was much happier to watch alongside DD when she moved onto Nickelodeon (a lot of the children from my Nickelodeon days are now the adults in DDs ones), horrible histories etc.

Jsmith99 · 07/08/2019 23:34

Me and my mate used to watch In the Night Garden when we were stoned. It’s hilariously trippy.

Cecilandsnail · 07/08/2019 23:38

Rastamouse! That's one I would watch without the DC. I used to quite like tree fu tom too, and Ben and holly, and I got quite into this supercheesy pop shop thing on CBeebies. It was both annoying and hypnotising.

BillywigSting · 08/08/2019 00:38

Rastamouse is brilliant stoned Grin

FoldyRoll · 08/08/2019 00:43

My kids are 15 and 11. If I'm up early I'll always tune in to Peppa on milkshake. Peppa Pig is ace. The rest of it I'm glad to have seen the back of.

Lofari · 08/08/2019 00:48

Some are tolerable. Some however feature in your nightmares after awhile....
Ds1... loved spongebob. I now have to change channel if thats on I hate the yellow prick.
Dd.....peppa. Also makes me cringe.
Ds2.....likes Mr Tumble. That one i can tolerate.

InglouriousBasterd · 08/08/2019 00:55

whispers yes, I find CBeebies incredibly soothing and innocent. Quite often have it on in the background when working from home... persuaded DD (who is definitely CBBC age) to keep it on and we both found ourselves glued Grin

I think it just reminds me of having a lovely cuddly baby and toddler and not a slightly smelly tweenie!
