Has anyone else seen the first episode?

I watched all of season 1 again yesterday in preparation.

Merry Streep was really good and I love Reese Witherspoon.

I had predicted Celeste might be pregnant this series but apparently not.

Renatas medical bills were for Botox or fillers I assumed?

mikado1 · 10/07/2019 15:14

I also assumed for Botox etc. By the way, what about her tweed suit?! Fab.

historysock · 10/07/2019 15:35

Loved it!
I love most of the clothes in this.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 10/07/2019 15:37

Skipped the thread so afraid of spoilers.

Are you all watching in the UK?
I don't have Sky Atlantic-is there another way???

Loved Season One!!

SapatSea · 10/07/2019 15:45

Celeste was a SHL was she not? I know family probably wasn't her area but surely she'd have a bit more insight into how the court works and being able to judge if someone was a good lawyer.

SapatSea · 10/07/2019 15:45

Is Bonnie's mum dead? did I blink and miss that?

Cocolapew · 10/07/2019 16:00

Mumis I watch it on Now TV.
I still love it, everything is so pretty.

AliceRR · 10/07/2019 16:41

I’m caught up but feel like I need to watch all of this season again as I seem to have missed things

I remember MS talking about Perry and his brother (was it?) and assumed he’d done something

I first thought Bonnie’s mother had said “killed me” but then watched again and “kill me” makes more sense 🤷🏻‍♀️

I watch on NowTV too which is basically pay as you go (like Netflix) Sky

OP posts:
AliceRR · 10/07/2019 16:42

Just realised the episode is called Kill Me

MotherOfSoupDragons · 10/07/2019 17:30

Yeah that's what Bonnie's mum said to her.

DarlingNikita · 11/07/2019 11:13

I wonder if there's more to come out about Renata's medical bills. Otherwise, I have to say I'm struggling to see what she and her family are adding to this series. In the first one at least it was her kid and the bullying thing that kicked off the action, but I don't see why we're supposed to particularly care about her and her DH's bankruptcy, or her Women in Business thing being pulled, or any of it really.

AliceRR · 11/07/2019 11:23

We’ve already had 5 episodes. Last season was 7? So if we have 6-7 episodes this season there is a lot left to wrap up!

OP posts:
DarlingNikita · 11/07/2019 12:25

I think this series is 7; that's all that's listed on IMDB, unless they'll add more as they air? (unlikely). So yes, lots of strands going on and not much time to wrap up. Maybe there's another series in the pipeline?

AliceRR · 11/07/2019 12:31

I think there is to be a season 3 but even if there’s another series, something big or shocking or exciting needs to happen this season (IMHO)...

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/07/2019 14:25

Agree flashbacks annoying now

recap e5

ReeReeR · 13/07/2019 14:48

Flashbacks worked well in season 1 but that’s cause there was a storyline!

SheStoodInTheStorm · 13/07/2019 22:24

I hadn't read the book (and still haven't) - is it worth reading even though I've watched the show?

It's so beautiful but so slow at times. I really had to push myself to finish the first series!

franke · 13/07/2019 22:32

I think it's worth reading the book. But the TV series does diverge massively from the original plot. The book was much less dramatic and neater imo. But in reading the book I realised just how spot on the casting was for the series, even if the series is a little more polished.

ConfCall · 14/07/2019 23:37

I thought that Cory might be an undercover journalist, because he seemed to take a lot of interest in the nickname the group was given. Cop actually makes more sense though.

Very confused about Ed, and why the woman approached him in the bar.

Looking forward to the next ep in a few hours. I’m recording it, will watch at lunch time tomorrow.

Zoe Kravitz is the stepdaughter of the chap who played Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones.

LoafofSellotape · 15/07/2019 11:04

Watching now- the sighing is fucking ridiculous in this episode 🙄

supercee · 15/07/2019 11:21

I'm sighing at the sighing, and everything else. I'm finding it the most intensely irritating episode. Is it just me?!

LoafofSellotape · 15/07/2019 11:31

No it's not just you! And if Celeste is a lawyer surely she would have some idea of what would sound good in court 🙄

Been announced there won't be a third season, which makes this current one dull as ditchwater.

Nicole Kidman's mouth and nose had Joker-ish proportions this episode.
