I was a lurker on the last thread, I didn't post much, but I loved all of your comments. So the last one was full, here's another one

OP posts:

Yes Eileen is very dour. She brings the mood down when she is on screen. The only scenes I enjoy with her is when she is with Liz and they are having a laugh.

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 08/08/2019 19:12

Plus the fact that no amount of brain bleach can erase the memory of seeing her get it on with Les Dennis.

Deadringer · 08/08/2019 19:30

You would be sour faced too if you had to snog Michael (Les Dennis), then Pat wonky mouth Phelan, and then hairy faced Jan.

Is that you Amanda?.. 😝

Mollypolly2610 · 09/08/2019 20:33

Does anyone else think Gary is going to buy the factory?

eddiemairswife · 09/08/2019 21:12

How did he realise the safe password was the date of the football club's foundation? He's hardly Bletchley Park material!

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 09/08/2019 22:04

This programme is so crap, I now feel dirty and ashamed when I watch it.

Thesearmsofmine · 09/08/2019 23:28

It’s dire. Nick is meant to be an experienced businessman, what kind of businessman would agree to investment from a random bloke he has just met via his sisters dodgy ex?

nildesparandum · 10/08/2019 01:21

I know this is a story but, it must be lovely to sit comfortably in your local backstreet pub without being being disturbed by drunken fights and drug dealers.Everyone having cosy chats and those with young children being able to leave them at home.
I would love to live in Corrie. It is certainly not like this where I live.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 10/08/2019 09:55

Agree it’s dire.

Company meeting in a pub for all the locals to hear? Why was Leanne there? Snapping and scowling at everyone.

That was so very obviously a set up from the start. We didn’t need the scene where it was “revealed” to be a man Gary had lent money to. We knew that already.

ellenanora5 · 10/08/2019 12:54

I was thinking the same about Leanne, what's it got to do with her, she's such a cow now I can't stand her.

I bet Eileen will get back with Jan, if he was undercover why were the police not on the ball earlier and it was up to Seb to tell the police everything.

I like Evelyn, at least she brings a bit of humour to it nowadays.

Was the key to the storage area always in that shed place where Gary is selling crap from, who owned the stuff (empty boxes) and the money in the safe.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 10/08/2019 13:07

About the factory pay off thing. They were all saying they'd get £500 out of 20k so that means 40 employees? Yet only 5 got to vote on Nick's deal?
Am I missing something?
(Apart from the fact that it's a shite soap that makes little to no sense if you apply any type of real world logic to it)

bluemonkeysocks · 10/08/2019 14:39

What was the back story with the key? I just seen Gary open the cupboard and tip it out a book? Was it the loan sharks? (Obviously as who else would have £££££ hidden away) I don't ever remember Gary and the loan shark having convos about how much they love football though Hmm

thenightsky · 10/08/2019 19:50

They are just making it up as they go along now. I think the real writers buggered off months ago and the actors just turn up on the day and do what they think is kind of okay, hoping we don't notice and their salary cheques keep arriving.

Deadringer · 10/08/2019 21:46

Nick owns half the factory, so 10k would go to him. The other 10k to be split presumably between 20 staff. I don't understand though why Nick gets to keep his shares when he stole the money to buy them. I also don't understand why he was broke in the first place, he sold the bistro so he should have had the proceeds from that, unless I am forgetting something major.

PinkDaydreams · 11/08/2019 10:14

Didn’t nick have to pay off his ex wife so the bistro money went to her?

eddiemairswife · 11/08/2019 12:59

I can't keep up with all the business transactions that happen so regularly and at breakneck speed.

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 11/08/2019 13:05

Yes how come nicks shares weren’t confiscated to repay Audrey? I know David (who we haven’t seen since he was sentenced) signed over the barber shop to her but Nick didn’t make any offer of repayment. And wasn’t ordered to. Surely that is standard to have to make repayments to your victim?

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 11/08/2019 14:55

I know David (who we haven’t seen since he was sentenced)

I thought that, there's been no visits by Shona or any mention of Gail etc.

I'm guessing they've gone in holiday or some such.

eddiemairswife · 11/08/2019 15:10

I'd forgotten David was in prison. Nobody mentions it.
I thought Gail had flown to the Far East on a sudden impulse, as you do!

ToEarlyForDecorations · 11/08/2019 15:14

Can Gail stay gone ? I'd forgotten she had gone overseas on impulse.

ohflowerofscotland · 12/08/2019 00:14

.

millimat · 12/08/2019 09:28

I'm confused. Where did that bloke with Gary appear from? Does he really owe gary money?

bobstersmum · 12/08/2019 11:20

Gary is such a weasly wimp it's way too far fetched to believe he would be able to intimidate anyone!
