So, now we battle for King's Landing and the Throne.

The penultimate episode of this most epic of tales. Can Cersei survive? Will Euron catch on and wonder how Tyrion could have known of the pregnancy? Will Arya and the Hound beat Jaime in the race south?

As ever, no leaks or spoilers please until we watch the episode live together. Our Watch begins....

God, Jon killing a dragon would be horrible! I think Arya can kill Dany and Jon can take the dragon north to protect the rebuilding of the wall.

BlackCatSleeping · 14/05/2019 15:32

I suspect that Jaime sleeping with Brienne may have been more about her storyline than his. I'm interested to see what happens with her next week.

birdsandroses · 14/05/2019 15:35

If the Iron Throne continues after this the people of Westeros are going to be in for some massive tax hikes - rebuilding their capital is going to cost a fortune!

bigKiteFlying · 14/05/2019 15:41

I was hoping Drogon would be like Ghost, sent back east maybe with the dothraki where he'd be happier like Ghost sent north but it's more likely he'll be killed I suppose.

Lweji · 14/05/2019 15:43

I don't want any dragons to be killed, although that seems inevitable.

Although, the other question is how? It can't be that easy.

itswinetime · 14/05/2019 15:54

Still think it will be Jon that kills Danny Arya the dragon but it's a coins toss either way at this point.

For me the burning wasn't planned Danny was perched on that wall she stopped heard the bells then started again grey worm reacted to that and took out his rage and grief.

I think Danny sat there on Drogon and though I have won I have done it. Then it came crashing down to her that she needed to rule by fear (in her head)she chose to commit a horrible act to secure her rule. As she genuinely believe she is the right person and the only person that can protect every from tyrants ect

MsMarvellous · 14/05/2019 15:54

Why does the wall need to be rebuilt? The night king and his army are kaput and with them gone, and Mance Rayder gone, and a wildling people who've worked WITH the north, what purpose would another wall serve?

BlackCatSleeping · 14/05/2019 15:56

But what about the snarks and grumpkins? ;)

M15sterPip · 14/05/2019 16:00

Does the dragon need to die? It was only doing what Daenerys told it to. Couldn't Jon command it in the absence of Dany?

Lweji · 14/05/2019 16:00

what purpose would another wall serve?

Tourists? They'll need the revenue to rebuild KL, not to mention Winterfell.

MsMarvellous · 14/05/2019 16:03

@BlackCatSleeping @Lweji both good points. Good rehab plan for rapists and villains too.

LaurieMarlow · 14/05/2019 16:11

Drogon does need to go. He’s the nuclear option and will always be vulnerable to an abuse of power.

The question is how? All the dragon killing machines are busted.

Bran might be able to do some warging, which would be interesting. Tyrion had a lot of dragon knowledge at one point which might give him ideas. If Arya can kill the NK, maybe she can kill a dragon? Hmm.

Doobigetta · 14/05/2019 16:11

They need to rebuild the Wall so they don’t fall into the same trap as they did this time, of thinking it can never happen again and not being ready when it does.

NunoGoncalves · 14/05/2019 16:23

Couldn't Jon command it in the absence of Dany?

That's my thinking. Although he doesn't seem to like his pets very much so that might not bode well for Drogon.

birdsandroses · 14/05/2019 16:36

@bigkiteflying, my interpretation of Tyrion’s motivations were the same as you. He wanted to save his brother and also save the needless death of thousands of people. Encouraging Jaime to escape with Cersei was how he thought this could be acheived. He hadn’t reckoned on Dany’s anger overriding her supposedly more noble sensibilities.

sonjadog · 14/05/2019 16:38

I think the way to kill Drogon is to poison his dinner.

Then Dany would have nothing and could be sent on a passenger ferry across the sea, never to be seen again.

JasperRising · 14/05/2019 16:41

@CabbageHippy it was supposed to be remember she's a dragon! A line from way back in season 6... I can't even blame fantasy spelling for that typo Blush a rent a dragon business would be cool though.

LaurieMarlow · 14/05/2019 16:43

On another note, where the fuck did all those Dothraki materialise from?

I thought all but a handful died at the battle for Winterfell?

Or does Dany have them on tap?

Lweji · 14/05/2019 16:47

Maybe she left a good number behind, or mail ordered them. After all, it took them long enough to allow for Jamie to reach KL.

iklboo · 14/05/2019 16:48

it was supposed to be remember she's a dragon

I'm now singing this to Remember You're A Womble.

SweetSummerchild · 14/05/2019 17:07

If the Iron Throne continues after this the people of Westeros are going to be in for some massive tax hikes - rebuilding their capital is going to cost a fortune!

Ha, yes. In addition, the ‘crown’ still owes the Iron Bank for the new loan Cersei took out to pay for the Golden Company (for all the good they did).

The Iron Bank always has to be paid....

Lweji · 14/05/2019 17:09

The Iron Bank always has to be paid....

Or burnt?

SweetSummerchild · 14/05/2019 17:10

About Drogon: During the Dance of the Dragons a very large dragon (can’t remember which one) was killed by an arrow/scorpion bolt in the eye. It’s scales were too thick to penetrate.

Now, who have we seen practising their archery this season?

I would love that.

Dany is definitely Jon’s kill though. He is the one who bent the knee to her and went along with her plans.

SweetSummerchild · 14/05/2019 17:15

But what about the snarks and grumpkins? ;)

Grin
SweetSummerchild · 14/05/2019 17:27

Correction - it was Meraxes who was killed by a scorpion bolt in the eye during the Dornish War.
