Just my contribution re Ginger and the knife... I don't think she had a text or anything. She had her orders beforehand. Neutralise anyone who may talk.

AngelinaNeurosurgeon · 06/05/2019 08:44

Next series, Jed might want to be told in between that the NI RC community definately would not take to a RC member of the RUC and 'trust' him as one of their own.
And Ted visiting his informant at her home was grossly negligent, he may as well have written her death sentence

merrymouse · 06/05/2019 08:45

It never made sense that on one hand Hastings could have been been heading up a network of corrupt cops for years, but on the other he was forced to live in a soulless hotel room he couldn’t afford. Where were the rewards of his corruption?

NoWordForFluffy · 06/05/2019 08:45

They probably realised that there was nobody to bribe with JL's corpse and decided to give Terry his freezer back! I'm pretty sure she was only kept to bribe Gates later on.

Huntley was bent, OCG-bent. Huntley ended up where two situations (being pressured re her case and killing Ifield in self defence) collided and she tied herself up in knots trying to save herself, becoming bent on the way.

Hargreaves was bribed by DNA, not bent, other than frequenting an illegal brothel.

Clawdy · 06/05/2019 08:45

The stabbing of Gill was implausible, the police woman would have been found covered in blood, arrested and had to give away the story. Very odd.

Isitmybathtimeyet · 06/05/2019 08:47

Surely she’d have claimed Gill attacked her and it was self defence?

Isitmybathtimeyet · 06/05/2019 08:48

Like others I remain confused that they both accused Hastings of taking a bribe but also of being H, who surely would be doing the bribing?

jellyfish70 · 06/05/2019 08:49

Teds name was 'unCatholic' as you say because his father was Protestant. Ted/Edward is not unCatholic(see Father Ted lol). I have an Irish Catholic mother and English C of E father, so have a very English surname but was brought up Catholic.

jellyfish70 · 06/05/2019 08:50

Very dodgy that they were going to let that uniformed officer go into the loo with Jill while they all got their coats on!!!

NowWeAreSuckingDiesel · 06/05/2019 08:51

Isitmybathtime - a bribe from the OCG presumably because he was H?

jellyfish70 · 06/05/2019 08:51

Ted had a large brown crumpled envelope under his arm at the end. Was he going to give it to Corbett's widow out of guilt or as my DH reckons, is Ted Corbett's father??????

RaffertyFair · 06/05/2019 08:52

I also can't believe that immunity was given to Lisa and Gill for so little! Surely full disclosure from Gill and names would have been the very least needed?

RaffertyFair · 06/05/2019 08:53

jellyfish70 the dates are wrong for him to be his father.
Read the digital spy article posted up thread

jellyfish70 · 06/05/2019 08:55

Next series, Jed might want to be told in between that the NI RC community definately would not take to a RC member of the RUC and 'trust' him as one of their own.

Note the spelling of definitely. I think we have our H.......

RedForShort · 06/05/2019 08:55

Other unresolved issues:

Is Ted still living in a hotel Alan Partridge style?
Why the heck did he think in the first place that was the best answer accommodation wise to his financial difficulties?

jessicawessica · 06/05/2019 08:56

Not buying the porn on the laptop, unless it was the type of porn that gets you banged up for 10 years.
Did Ted tell Lee about John....still don't know.
The definately was a coincidence? No way.
When Ted asked Gill why she just said "It's complicated". That's the answer "It's complicated"!
Agree the whole Dot morse code thing was definately stolen from 321.

NowWeAreSuckingDiesel · 06/05/2019 08:57

Hastings DID TELL Lee - JM confirmed it in the digital spy.

Can everyone stop saying Ted is Corbett father? He isn't.

jellyfish70 · 06/05/2019 08:58

jessica is it you???? Can we stop misspelling definitely people!!!

RedForShort · 06/05/2019 08:59

I bet there's loads of devices that now autocorrect definitely to definately!!! We'll have loads of Hs until definately is deleted from people's autoreplace list!!

Roll on series 6 - who's Not-H?!!!

jellyfish70 · 06/05/2019 08:59

Could Ted have fathered a sibling of Corbett if the dates are wrong?

Isitmybathtimeyet · 06/05/2019 09:01

Isitmybathtime - a bribe from the OCG presumably because he was H?

Ah, OK. Although H seems to tell the OCG what to do rather than the other way round
!

Isitmybathtimeyet · 06/05/2019 09:01

H obviously being Top Bent Copper 1234 rather than H now.

supersop60 · 06/05/2019 09:01

jellyfish70 - I hope he gave her the money. I don't think he's old enough to be John's father.
The 'denouement'' was a big disappointment.

RedForShort · 06/05/2019 09:03

Ted is definitely NOT Corbett's father.

Nobody is someone else. Bungalow is not Anne-Marie. Michelle is not Kate etc

(Finally discovered I recognised redhead bent copper from Prisoners' Wives. Had been bugging me!!! Bungalow was in that too.)

Oakenbeach · 06/05/2019 09:08

Not buying the porn on the laptop, unless it was the type of porn that gets you banged up for 10 years.

In the LOD world where you get off with a few trips to talk to school kids for being a senior member of a OCG that horrifically traffics women and forces them into sexually slavery, I’m not sure what kind porn gets you even as much as a tut-tut, let alone a prison sentence, never mind a 10 year one!
