The morse code thing just seems a way out of the storyline of there being a central H.
But disappointing but hopefully will pave the way for interesting series 6.
Musings on who the 4th dot could be: Pcc guy/ Carmichael (she seemed keen to still be involved in the investigation), outsider is Wise. Needs to be a known character for credibility imo.

I think Hastings planned to give the cash to his ex.

I thought it did pretty well, gave some resolution (I was worried it would all be left over till the next series) and deliberately played on what had happened in the previous series in terms of the breakout request. It worked in terms of keeping you guessing, and was incredibly tense still.

Hmm, not sure the episode was that good, and I think the morse code 4 dots meaning H meaning there were 4 baddies makes any sense, but

A) Gill has fabulous hair, and
B) I liked that her new identity was drab in a run down town.

Surely the "H" blinking was Dot giving up Hilton? The tapping thing was another piece of information, there are 4 of them. So Dot told them there were 4 caddies, one of whom was "H".

Why not give the money to his poor wife?

But no, Corbett was not Ted's son. Ted met Ann Marie years after Corbett's father had been killed.

Ann Marie was angry about her husband's death and so was acting as an informant to Ted. He felt bad that she had lost her husband and did odd jobs around the house for her. Carmichael insinuated that someone had spotted Ted at Ann Marie's house, and blown her cover as an informant, resulting in her abduction. Shortly afterwards Ted and his partner were led over a pipe bomb.
