And the fact they call her Hannah instead of Anna says it all!!

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 04/05/2019 17:23

He missed out the graph showing how many times Ted said Wee
As in Wee Girl.

MrsChollySawcutt · 04/05/2019 17:47

Tommy is dead though, he had turned informant which is why Akers/Cafferty/Denton setup the ambush in S2. When that didn't work, he was bumped off in hospital by Jeremy Cole (the one Dot passed off as the Caddy) after pushing Georgia Trotman our of the window.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/05/2019 17:50

Tommy is dead though

Or that's what they want us to think!

IAlmostCracked · 04/05/2019 18:00

Is this a hint?

I can't take the pressure. Roll on Sunday night.

TheCaddyisaBaddie · 04/05/2019 19:16

Another wild theory of mine - Mrs Ted is Anne-Marie (john Corbetts birth mum). Her and Ted fell for each other but they knew that john's real dad (links with underworld) wouldn't let them divorce - Catholics and all that so they had to fake her death and she had to leave john behind.

Pipe bomb story let's Ted and Mrs Ted lay low for some time before popping up in England. John was told several lies whilst growing up with relatives about his mum and somehow found out the truth - probably by 'H' as they were digging the dirt to blackmail Ted. 'H' if senior police officer, might have been able to pull some strings to actually get John as the UCO.

We know John was the one who tortured Mrs Ted, paramilitary style to have his revenge on the person who left him and brought shame on his Dad.

MauritiusNextTime · 04/05/2019 20:06

'Tommy Hunter - we know the OCG claim they can plant DNA evidence, is Tommy dead? He had a blanket over his head when he got into the car. '

He had a blanket over his head but in the flashback episode when we see Denton and Akers meeting there's a flashback scene when we see Tommy in the car.

I think H is Ted's brother, originally IRA hence Corbett wanting revenge on Ted's family but now he's an OCG boss. Bit of a coincidence and far fetched but the whole series has been really, enjoyable though.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/05/2019 20:13

But John's dad was dead, so no divorce was needed. She could've just married Ted a 'decent' amount of time afterwards rather than fake her own death, if that was the case.

BlackeyedPetitsPois · 04/05/2019 20:31

Not sure if this has already been suggested but what if H isn’t a person but a place? The building they raided in episode 3 (With the sex trafficked girls) was shaped like 2 H’s......they showed a aerial image on the screen when they were prepping for the raid.

jessicawessica · 04/05/2019 21:34

I posted about the 2 H shaped building but that probably doesn't make sense. It could be the Headquarters, but you'd still need somebody to actually be running things so it has to be a person, IYSWIM.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 04/05/2019 21:39

Not to take the focus off theories but side note: loved that Stephen Graham read the CBeebies bedtime story today (my toddler was utterly bemused by my excitement)

TrixieFranklin · 04/05/2019 22:03

I've just watched S2E6 and it definitely was Tommy in the car when the ambush happened with Akers and Denton

RhubarbIsEvil · 04/05/2019 22:26

H is a place and it’s the Hotel California.

granof3 · 04/05/2019 23:45

Can't wait for Sundays episode!!
I think Ted will either be incarcerated or die!!!
In The Line of Duty.
Like the good honest copper we all hope he is.

IcedPurple · 05/05/2019 00:54

Not sure if it's been mentioned already - I've not read through all the posts - but does anybody else think Steve's ex newfound interest in him may be significant?

Granted, that beard is doing him a lot of favours, but she seemed pretty much done with him a while ago. Why is she all over him now? Line of Duty isn't one of those cop shows where the characters' private lives is examined unless it's directly relevant to the plot, so there must be something in it.

Ditto Kate. I know it's only been a few scenes but we are definately (!) supposed to take note of her family life. Normally, when we see a character enjoying happy family scenes - OK the last one not so much - that's a sure sign that something bad is on the way.

I guess we'll find out quite soon.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 05/05/2019 07:04

I wonder if the ex is back in Steve's life as nothing more sinister than a plot device to illustrate his impotence?

NoWordForFluffy · 05/05/2019 07:40

*I wonder if the ex is back in Steve's life as nothing more sinister than a plot device to illustrate his impotence?

Good shout, NewCross! (Are you a CUSM fan?!)

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 05/05/2019 07:55

I thought the ex was in the picture to reiterate how hard it is having a bent boss- thus fuelling the Hastings conspiracy

NigesFakeWalkingStick · 05/05/2019 08:04

@OnlyFoolsnMothers me too! I loved watching him.

Apparently Sainsburys have released the series 5 DVD on the shelves - with the last episode on it Shock this happened yesterday so I imagine they'll have all been recalled today but what a blunder!

Oh My God!! Don't look at the internet!

Clawdy · 05/05/2019 08:10

Checking in.Looking forward to tonight, hope it's not a disappointment.

Piggywaspushed · 05/05/2019 08:11

I always think people read way too much into LoD and agree with you newcross re Sam. It's also a running motif : the loneliness of being in AC-12 in that they all have failed relationships.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 05/05/2019 09:11

(Are you a CUSM fan?!)

I just love that song - it's one of my absolute favourites and always takes me back to my university years - you know, when the whole world is in front of you and anything is possible Grin
