Here is a new thread for when the old one is full.

Yes! Haleton and Hyde-Albert!

SinkGirl · 23/04/2019 14:03

And it looks like the Haleton on the board and the one on the list are the same person (both Paul). How has this not been a line of enquiry?! Or have I missed it?!

NoWordForFluffy · 23/04/2019 14:16

I don't think it's been investigated that I recall.

OneofPansPeople · 23/04/2019 14:19

Regarding the comments about expecting Stephen Graham to do a better London/Belfast accent, remember it's not Stephen Graham doing the accent is it. It's John Corbett, we know he's a talented forger but expecting him to channel Larry Olivier might be a bit much. Realism people, realism.

TedsFederationRep · 23/04/2019 14:19

Good spotting, SinkGirl! Wonder how Susan and Roger are related - they've got to be, as the surname is quite distinctive.

Clawdy · 23/04/2019 14:22

Someone upthread said the Mrs Corbett reading to the kids scene was a bit sentimental, but the story she was reading ended up with Chicken Licken being devoured by the fox......

SinkGirl · 23/04/2019 14:28

Wonder how Susan and Roger are related - they've got to be, as the surname is quite distinctive.

Agreed - all three names are quite distinctive, that one in particular being double barrelled.

But surely these people we’ve never seen can’t be H?!

NoWordForFluffy · 23/04/2019 14:33

I don't see why not!

Wellwhatwouldyoudo · 23/04/2019 14:52

IIRC the list was taken and burnt by Dot before anyone else saw it. So only us viewers know who is on it.....

SinkGirl · 23/04/2019 15:06

Dot did burn it, but Denton found where Danny had saved a photo of it (draft folder of a secret email account). She sent it to Hastings just before Dot shot her, and Hastings gets it, shows it to Kate and reads it out partially to Fairbank in interview.

NoWordForFluffy · 23/04/2019 15:12

We should have a collective viewing of all previous series. Who's got the biggest house?! Grin

Soverytiredofeverythinggoingon · 23/04/2019 15:16

Ooh YES, a LoD party!

SinkGirl · 23/04/2019 15:16

I definitely don’t, sadly. Very big comfy sofa though - I can fit at least four armchair detectives on there 😂

I am determined to crack this but now I think it’s not crackable as we’ve probably never even seen H

Wellwhatwouldyoudo · 23/04/2019 15:18

Thanks for the reminder. Just got to the end of researching series 1 (again).

Probably why those people feature on the board and they will have been investigated but I guess there's only so much they can do with a name on a piece of paper and no evidence. If they are even the same people or just have the same name

LillianGish · 23/04/2019 15:19

Reporting in! I hope we're going to get a nice long interview sequence next week. Long overdue I would echo this - much prefer the interviews to the action. I think there is no way H can be Hastings - that would be no sort of twist. No idea who or what H is, but agree there was a lot of lingering on the letters on the door so maybe there is an H block (more NI refs).

Wellwhatwouldyoudo · 23/04/2019 15:20

Meant to have written re-watching series 1 but maybe researching is a more suitable word at this stage!!!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 23/04/2019 15:34

Re Series 1, do you remember the sub titles at the end explaining what happened to each character?
Was LoD originally to be just one series? Hence we think the idea of 'H' being a certain person but changes every series because Jed hadn't decided who was 'H' until recently?
Jed has said he doesn't always know what's going to happen until he sits down & writes it.

Is Buckingham Palace available to hire for a LoD convention 🤣

SinkGirl · 23/04/2019 15:34

I don’t know - you’d think that if there’s a senior cop called Paul Haleton and Paul Haleton is on the list of child abusers, Ted would have something to say about that (he seems very angry about the idea of cops being child abusers in S3) but it has never been mentioned. That’s odd.

DarlingNikita · 23/04/2019 15:35

I might have the biggest screen (no TV, just a projector and a blank wall).

Lillian and Gabrielle, I think one of these threads had a link to an interview with one of the cast where they said eps 5 and 6 were very good from a long-interview perspective. Can't wait! Although I did enjoy Steve's 'Remain standing!' variation in the last episode.

SinkGirl · 23/04/2019 15:36

They have those at the end of each series - I suspect he wrote at least the first series to be standalone as he wouldn’t have known whether another would be commissioned.

Piggywaspushed · 23/04/2019 15:50

sink, I read somewhere that those extra people on the board are members of the crew. One is like a tea lady or something. Be a bit awkward if they now needed actors to play those roles!

NoWordForFluffy · 23/04/2019 16:13

That's hilarious actually, Piggy!

tinstar · 23/04/2019 16:15

I am determined to crack this but now I think it’s not crackable as we’ve probably never even seen H

I'm inclined to agree. I can't personally see a satisfactory outcome. Maybe we'll never find out Shock

If H is someone we know, well it won't be that much of a surprise as we've considered all the key actors.

If H is someone we don't know, or a minor character, then that will feel like a bit of a cop out (!).

If H isn't a person then that will also be a cop out as Dot's dying declaration has Kate very clearly asking him about the name of the person in charge, what letter the name begins with and getting him to blink twice at the right letter ..... H. If the reveal hinges on Dot not answering the question he was being asked but trying to communicate something else I'll be deeply unhappy!

I'm finding Adrian Dunbar's performance bordering on the comedic with his over-use of catch phrases and panto-villain like expressions. He's so obviously not H that it seems really heavy handed of JM to indulge in such heavy-handed and obvious mis-direction.

Marmitemakesmehappy · 23/04/2019 16:19

I think Kate is too young to be H (thank fuck, as this would destroy me).

I am so impressed at how much detail everyone can recount from previous series'. I endlessly have to go back and fact-check things to get my theories in order.

I agree an interview scene is long overdue.

I feel so sorry for Terry :(
