The final episode will show the case against Ted being built and him being imprisoned for corruption. Possibly Fleming and Corbett will click that he's innocent and the episode might show them starting to prove his innocence/ look for the real H. We - and Ted - will have to wait until the next series for Ted to be freed and H to be banged to rights.

RedForShort · 28/04/2019 23:03

Anyone think Hastings might remain in prison till at least next series?

Carmichael (fabulously loathsome) is determined to show Hastings is H no matter what it seems. He was great too wasn't he. Disgusted at first his authority wasn't being adhered to and so very shook at the end if the interview (though I wasn't too sure how to interpret the look at the very end).

Aldicheckoutworkout · 28/04/2019 23:07

I also think he might remain in prison/custody til s6....
He seemed genuinely shocked about one of the bodies being john corbett.....but there's more secrets about ted to come out.
And is everyone in the fancy room (cressida dick, gill bungalow and the asian pr guy) dodgy.....as well as moffatt...?

Charley50 · 28/04/2019 23:08

Mind you, I'm relieved that Terry can finally bring home some Cornettos.
😂😂😂

Hastings is no sinister penguin this week, but a wrongly accused Gromit. Justice will prevail.

InABigCountry · 28/04/2019 23:09

Finally found the new thread! Have no idea now if Hastings is innocent. Felt a bit sorry for him there.

BoldMeDontAtMe · 28/04/2019 23:11

Poundland Kate Grin

Also think poor, sad Ted will be in custody till the end of series 6. And might even be sent down Shock.

Mind you, the Travel Lodge was good preparation for a police/prison cell.

Aldicheckoutworkout · 28/04/2019 23:14

I dont think it was travel lodge- we made the mistake of staying in one recently and it wasnt anywhere near as "luxurious" as teds room. The toilet flushed though!!😂

Emma40fornow · 28/04/2019 23:15

Oh no am off to see Take That next week!! Gutted oh gosh hope we find out who is H!! Ted is involved somehow maybe!?!

TheSpottedZebra · 28/04/2019 23:23

You don't get Anna Maxwell Martin in for a bit part.
Quite. Although they do seem to get big actors in for LoD and have them die spectacularly, so you never know.

But I don't think she'll die. I think she'll be the gaffer next series. But I think that Ted will die, in the Line of Duty.

NB he didn't open the letter that Gill gave him? Something dodgy then?

Defenbaker · 28/04/2019 23:24

@pinkandstripey -- yes, you're correct. I just went on iPlayer to have a quick recap, then noticed your post.

Ignore my previous post re dates, I misheard them. This series seems to have scambled my brains!

I don't think Ted is H (despite them implying it for weeks) but I don't think he's entirely innocent either. Perhaps he lost his judgement when his marriage fell apart and the money problems followed, so got caught up in something a bit dodgy out of desperation to rebuild his life. The attack on his wife threw him over the edge, as he knew the method of torture used was a veiled message that it was retribution for something that happened years ago during his duty in NI. He's a good man who's lost the plot and is taking risks he wouldn't normally take due to stress.

thenightsky · 28/04/2019 23:31

OMG. I'm out at a wedding til after midnight next Sunday. DH has already said 'right, we are up at 8am Monday to get this watched off'. Grin

JamesBoredom · 28/04/2019 23:34

I am all about Steve’s snooker waistcoats.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 28/04/2019 23:40

How old is Ted in this? 60?
John Corbett was 40 so it's a possibility that Ted could be his father.
I think Ted is innocent & it's a quadruple bluff, you think Ted is guilty, no he can't be guilty, is he guilty, nooooo Ted cannot be guilty?
I had a bad feeling about Carmichael. Is she involved?
Do we need 'Free Ted' t shirts a la Deirdre in Coro St?

FleurNancy · 28/04/2019 23:43

Bloody loved Carmichael. Especially her dead pan line about not liking shouting.

Not sure what to think at the moment other than poor Ted has been stitched up like a kipper. Confusingly I'm also watching past series with DH who hasn't seen any of it. Just finished S2. Lot to be said for a second watching.

Struggling with why they would put bits of Jackie Laverty in with John. Got to be a clear signal/message of some sort, I'm just not sure what.

yumyumpoppycat · 28/04/2019 23:43

I think gill is quite a strong possible as H. It could also be Mofat, Wise , Morton, someone from an earlier series we have forgotten about, Dryden?, Powell from peartree, Hastings in a double double bluff (all his money in spain)?

I wonder if it is someone connected to the ros Huntley case -her husband? It would be great if thandie newton is back in series 6.

One possibility is that H is dead but because the OCG didn't know his identity one of the younger character's has been filling in the gap - I guess this could mean Carmichael, sam, Jamie deresford?

jessicawessica · 28/04/2019 23:52

Who the bloody hell is Ryan?
I have watched and re watched from series 1.
Is Ryan the boy on the bike who kept calling Tony in series1 "a bent bastard"?
If yes, then surely, due to his criminal background he is not even allowed to apply to be in the Police.

JamesBoredom · 28/04/2019 23:54

Ted did look really upset.

Are we sure that Corbett’s dead mum was actually her and not some different body put in her place so she could be entered into witness protection or something?

jessicawessica · 28/04/2019 23:55

Also love the term "Get this watched off".

ElspethFlashman · 28/04/2019 23:57

My brain hurts.

I have no fucking clue what's going on. Confused

beanaseireann · 28/04/2019 23:57

Ted was in the RUC in Northern Ireland.
Corbett's mother was murdered because she was thought to be an informant. Was Ted the police officer she was informing ?

Triglesoffy · 29/04/2019 00:01

It’s too much of a coincidence that Gill B set out to seduce Ted on the same night that Corbett roughed up Mrs H.

EachandEveryone · 29/04/2019 00:04

Its all abit like The Departed with Ryan, really.

JamesBoredom · 29/04/2019 00:07

I thought Steve’s back pain in that scene was to imply he was suffering erectile dysfunction as a result of hai injuries?

BoreOfWhabylon · 29/04/2019 00:12

H won't be unmasked in this series I don't think.

Ted is innocent, obvs.

BitOfFun · 29/04/2019 00:12

Isn't this the most gorgeous tweet ever?

Line of Duty definately part 3.
