Ted is innocent but needs Kate & Steve to prove it. They will succeed in doing so and Ted will retire.
He will still be in the next series though as he will help Kate & Steve prove their new boss (Carmichael) is corrupt.

Agree re Anna Maxwell Martin - just brilliant.

Encyclo · 28/04/2019 22:20

I hated “Ma’am” she thought she was bees knees, totally delighted with herself. I hope Ted hands her arse to her next week.

UCOinanOCG · 28/04/2019 22:20

I defo think Ryan is going into the police. He is the next Dot.

Blackandwhitehorse · 28/04/2019 22:21

Yes Ted is trying to flush H out. I think he’s set himself up!

wowfudge · 28/04/2019 22:21

Ryan's got an interview to join the police. He works for an OCG, he won't be applying under his real name/the name he's got a criminal record in. They ID'd Lisa a couple of weeks ago, Steve was looking at a SS report on her so it stands to reason Hastings knew her name.

Anyone else think the fact there was £50k in the envelope when we were expecting £100k could be significant?

And what was going on with the PCC when Gill made that comment about the truth when they took AC-12 off the investigation into Operation Peartree?

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 28/04/2019 22:21

Why on earth would they stick a passing out parade scene in there for the love of god???

Gotta be Ryan

Pomegranatepompom · 28/04/2019 22:22

But wouldn’t he be excluded due to to his criminal record ???

TwitterQueen1 · 28/04/2019 22:22

Ted has thrown himself under a lorry, hoping to flush out the real H.
He knows his team will get there in the end.

HiHoS · 28/04/2019 22:22

What do we make of the focus on Kate's husband getting fed up of her being back late again? They haven't made much of it since her playing happy families. Am I reading too much into that?

ImTheRealHFella · 28/04/2019 22:23

You don't get Anna Maxwell Martin in for a bit part.

She's the key.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/04/2019 22:23

How can he go from being a student last week to joining the police this week? Crowbar plot move?

Pomegranatepompom · 28/04/2019 22:24

Quite unbearable if Ryan joins the police. Will be too irritating to watch.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/04/2019 22:24

HiHos, we thought his reaction was rather pathetic considering it was one missed bedtime. Bit of a hissy fit from Kate's husband.

HiHoS · 28/04/2019 22:25

Maybe it's not 1 missed bedtime though and they are just hinting at it?

NoWordForFluffy · 28/04/2019 22:26

Still pathetic, given her job!

Justaboy · 28/04/2019 22:26

£50k in the envelope when we were expecting £100k

Just where did this 50 K come from then and who sanctioned it or supplied it?.

Still think old Ted is innocent;!

florentina1 · 28/04/2019 22:27

Hastings had seen pictures of Lisa in the files, wasn’t she the one that went in with the money for Cafferty.

StoorieHoose · 28/04/2019 22:27

I agree with @YaBentBastard. This is so different from series 1-4 that I'm wondering how much Jed was involved in it!

I also think it would be a bit of a stretch of the imagination that Ryan becomes a PC and the new Dot

UCOinanOCG · 28/04/2019 22:27

I must go to sleep but my mind is buzzing!

NigesFakeWalkingStick · 28/04/2019 22:28

Ryan's joining the police, that bit was too obvious not to be signalling at that.

Who were the guys who were killed outside the place they took Ted?

If Ted was doing this to set himself up to flush out the real H, he's massively gambling (unlike him) that Carmichael is going to clinch it, he said himself she was fast tracked and hadn't put all the work in.

I suspect he made the plan to go to the nightclub to prove to DCC Wise that AC-12 we're still capable of pulling in members of the OCG.

I liked the series up until this point but the way Ted behaved in this episode is so at odds with his character generally throughout the series that I don't know if it stands the believability test that the others had. I could suspend belief for a few of his misjudgements (Fahrenheit order after learning about Mrs H) but the money thing just is too much. And the getting knocked out of protocol with the communications on the laptop.

PurpleKittyKnitting · 28/04/2019 22:29

An idea for the LOD buffet.... something to reflect the throat slash?

BabyDueDecember2019 · 28/04/2019 22:29

Almost as nail biting as last week! Great to see an interview. Phenomenal acting tonight Star

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 28/04/2019 22:32

Fuck.Ing.Hell.

If Bill Gigolo doesn't get hers I will not be happy. And Ted is innocent.
