Fantasy AC-12 mug challenge:

What quote from the show would you choose for the rear of your mug? Also what rank would you be?

I like the sound of DI CraicMammy and “I’m veering towards muffins” would be on the back of mine.

BringMeTea · 24/04/2019 16:53

Just popping in with some info... The Shield is available as a box set on All4...

Piggywaspushed · 24/04/2019 17:06

I'd actually prefer a Gill Biggeloe self refilling wine glass.

WhoWants2Know · 24/04/2019 17:09

Who eats muffins in a hospital bed without the use of their arms?

Piggywaspushed · 24/04/2019 17:13

Was that not part of the joke?

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 24/04/2019 17:39

Shrine of duty podcast is now available

CraicMammy · 24/04/2019 17:47

I’m enjoying this series of LOD5, although it’s stressing me to f* and I’ll be relieved when it’s over! I think I’m going to miss the Shrine of Duty podcast more!!

CraicMammy · 24/04/2019 17:52

Watch this and imagine you’re at the AC-12 Christmas karaoke with Ted

Anna Maxwell Martin is joining the cast! She looks ready to suck on diesel in the promo shots.

I'm guessing she won't be like her character in Motherland!

Line of Duty definately part 3.
diddl · 24/04/2019 18:38

"Steve had been running round saying that Ted was H (the sky was falling down) and nobody believed him then Chicken Licken gets eaten by the fox and Steve gets killed."

I think that you mean John.

But isn't the point that the sky wasn't falling down & it was this belief & trusting the wrong person that got him killed?

Say whaaaaaaaaaat?!

That’s my evening sorted - it’s been a few years since my last rewatch and I think I’m emotionally ready to go through it again 😂

whatashower · 24/04/2019 19:29

Well, at least Anna MM's character isn't another 'H"
I think we would have collectively imploded.

Saz432 · 24/04/2019 19:43

Very glad I can watch The Shield to keep me busy til Sunday! Thanks so much for the tip, I have been patiently waiting for it to come back on to Netflix as that’s where I first saw it!

OldSpeclkledHen · 24/04/2019 20:24

@MrsChollySawcutt yes!! I watched this when it was originally on!

Just found it on Iplayer, didn't realise it was Jed Mercurio! So it's filling the gap between Sundays!

WhoWants2Know · 24/04/2019 21:06

OMG, thank goodness for All4!

MiniCooperLover · 24/04/2019 21:11

Gill Biggeloe looks like a lady not to be crossed ... I bet she managed to fix Tex's wonky toilet 😊

Italiangreyhound · 24/04/2019 21:45

How is this up to 12 pages already!

Marmitemakesmehappy · 24/04/2019 21:59

www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/8866315/six-clues-line-of-duty-h-gill-biggeloe-hastings-wife-murder/

This makes COMPLETE sense to me

SinkGirl · 24/04/2019 22:23

It’s my fault Italian I keep rewatching old episodes, I’m becoming a LoD conspiracy theorist 😂

SinkGirl · 24/04/2019 22:31

I’m not sure Marmite

Apart from the fact she didn’t end up being murdered, obviously...

Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio has said he has always known who H is
If that’s true, I don’t believe there’d be no mention of her whatsoever until season 3. My main objection to her being H is that she didn’t show up until so late on, and that would imply Jed had no idea what he was doing and I refuse to accept it! It’s like he got to S3 and went right, we need a big boss... let’a write one in, do a terrible job of hiding how keen she is to let corruption slide, and then stick a random initial in there to keep em guessing.

I may be biased because I really don’t want it to be her, I guess. She’s such a satellite character, I’d be really let down. Mind you, at this point, I don’t think there can be a conclusion that won’t be disappointing.

I mean, even if she hadn’t appeared before S3, she is not mentioned at all. No mention of her, or even of a PCC lawyer. Nothing. That would be shoddy and sloppy.

Also, does she have more power now? She was a lawyer for the PCC then, she still is now... right? Or did I miss something?

SinkGirl · 24/04/2019 22:32

whowants2know I know right? The adverts sort of spoil the flow though!

TheweewitchRoz · 24/04/2019 22:41

Completely agree @SinkGirl

LemonRedwood · 24/04/2019 23:00

Also, whoever wrote that sun article can't count. 2972 doesn't = BIGI when you correspond them to the alphabet. It = BIGB

GreenDragon75 · 24/04/2019 23:26

My memory is appalling but I can’t really remember the peodophile storyline. I have a vague recollection now after reading this. Was it season 3? I have seen them all but get names mixed up and so many intertwined plot lines. I have to keep googling bits.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 25/04/2019 00:06

Yes, the paedophile storyline was in S3. Danny Waldron shot dead someone he recognised as an abuser from his days at Sands View children's home, then kidnapped and tortured another abuser. By the end of the series a v senior police officer (and friend and fellow Mason with Ted) Patrick Fairbank had been found guilty of historic child sex abuse offences and imprisoned. Before he died, Danny made a list of other abusers and left it for Arnott in his flat, but Dot found it and burned it. However, Danny had saved a photo of the list online which Lynsey Denton managed to find after his death and everyone in AC12 has now seen it. The story in S4 didn't connect in many places with the story in S3.
