Just came on to start a thread and you beat me to it!

Still18atheart · 16/04/2019 21:36

I’m watching. Same finding it eye opening and interesting

hideandgoseek · 16/04/2019 21:37

Amazed at these kids and their comments

musicposy · 16/04/2019 21:37

Yes, finding it interesting too, though I always wonder with these things how much is edited in such a way to get the programme maker's particular points across.

musicposy · 16/04/2019 21:40

I like the way the teacher is trying to get them to find common ground.

Heartofglass12345 · 16/04/2019 21:42

You don't have to be born in Britain to be British, my mum was born in Wales and she's still british Grin

hideandgoseek · 16/04/2019 21:45

No way is this woman having this conversation

Still18atheart · 16/04/2019 21:45

You can edit as much as you want but at the end of the day those kids are still saying these one liners

Tiptopj · 16/04/2019 21:46

Hi nice to meet you let me tell you about my husbands vasectomy Hmm

woodhill · 16/04/2019 21:46

It's very interesting

gauntletthrown · 16/04/2019 21:47

This woman is cringe.

Vasectomy, Asian people smell. Oh dear.

cupofteaandcake · 16/04/2019 21:47

I'm watching and feel like crying to be honest. I am shocked at the complete ignorance of these children.

ABC1234DEF · 16/04/2019 21:48

Where do channel 4 find these people?!

The attitudes across the board are shocking!

FrenchSchnoodle · 16/04/2019 21:48

I'm cringing at the mothers comments

gauntletthrown · 16/04/2019 21:49

Making me think I'm doing a good job with my child because it'll be a cold day in hell before he spouts any of that racist bullshit like thirst kids are!

hideandgoseek · 16/04/2019 21:49

It’s unbelievable. If my children were as ignorant as this they certainly wouldn’t be all over channel 4 displaying it Shock

Still18atheart · 16/04/2019 21:51

Hope they show this on Gogglebox

musicposy · 16/04/2019 21:52

I too am shocked at the ignorance.

I'm also shocked they haven't mixed more beforehand in general life. Maybe I'm naive as I live in a very white area, but DD was living in London for a while and it always seemed pretty integrated to me. Maybe these things look different from the outside.

areyoubeingserviced · 16/04/2019 21:52

I can’t believe that this is England in 2019.
I feel that we have regressed somewhat.
The ignorance ( from both sides) is astounding

roisinagusniamh · 16/04/2019 21:53

Why didn't the teacher explain to Olivia why calling someone half caste is inappropriate?

MoorMummy · 16/04/2019 21:54

Must admit that I’m stunned that children this age have so little knowledge of other cultures. And they don’t live in a little hamlet somewhere either. Interesting though uncomfortable viewing.

ghostyslovesheets · 16/04/2019 21:55

I would urge you to watch it as a whole - and see things evolve.

The mum you talk about is a product of her life and she is really open and her views change - not everyone is evolved and aware - it's easy to think people all think like us - they don't

(it's my daughter challenging the use of the word 'coloured' btw)

I'd also say it is edited to hell - they haven't included any of the less racist stuff

ghostyslovesheets · 16/04/2019 21:55

or the really good stuff - it's would make less exciting viewing

roisinagusniamh · 16/04/2019 21:56

OK ...he's addressing it now

woodhill · 16/04/2019 21:56

Will the schools swap so they go to Tamworth instead?
