Anyone watching?

OP posts:
Sullensilence · 04/04/2019 14:38

It really feels like budget broadchurch to me

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 04/04/2019 20:00

I lost track of who Ryan is too.

Caught up today and my God, could she BE a more useless mother?

Enjoyed working out where I'd seen Vincent before, though - Happy Valley! He's clearly going for Small Town Lowlife on his acting CV.

Sullensilence · 04/04/2019 21:39

THAT’S Where he’s from!! Thank you that’s been bugging me

Yes so far I can’t think of a single person who is likeable

Perhaps poor Nick.

HappyGirl86 · 04/04/2019 21:53

I'm still watching this show, but I find I don't really like any of the characters! Just can't warm to them!

Sonicknuckles · 05/04/2019 13:47

I like the Theme music

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/04/2019 13:10

I’m confused why her son is stealing stuff and videoing it

In with the wrong crowd?

Yes a crap mum. Not notifying what her kids are doing due to work

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/04/2019 13:29

recap 3

princessTiasmum · 07/04/2019 13:38

I used to live in Morecambe and loved it there so i watch to see if i recognise anywhere, but doubt it ,as everywhere changes and it was 40 years ago, but i am going there for the weekend next week, so looking forward to a bit of nostalgia
I missed the first episode so have not got into the story really

Aberforthsgoat · 07/04/2019 16:52

Can’t get into this but am still watching?!
I think I’m waiting for something intriguing to happen or for me to start liking the characters

Amimissingsomethinghere · 07/04/2019 17:38

I think it's obvious the uncle has something to do with it along with the guy that the teenage girl is smuggling drugs for (!) and they have roped in the naive and vulnerable Mooney guy to help.

Haven't worked out what the reason is though - something drug related.

Amimissingsomethinghere · 07/04/2019 17:38

All the teenagers are really annoying in it and imagine having sex in an alleyway two minutes after meeting someone. Put me off her from the start.

Amimissingsomethinghere · 07/04/2019 17:39

Sorry, correction - put me off BOTH of them!

faeveren · 07/04/2019 18:04

I don’t like Morven Christie in any of the roles that she has played but this is the worst. I watched the first three episodes hoping it would improve but the acting is flat, there is no chemistry and the story is dire. I do think it will transpire that the victims are involved in the county lines investigation referred to in the first episode.

HollowTalk · 08/04/2019 12:42

What got me was that the female lead (can't remember her name) was up on stage singing karaoke (talk about a cliched girls' night out, all linking arms and skipping in the street before karaoke) and that guy was ogling her. None of her friends noticed. None of them saw her go to talk to him. Then he's a major suspect. Her friends work for the police. Nobody says "Oh he was at the karaoke night" or "Wasn't he that guy you went off with?"

HollowTalk · 08/04/2019 12:42

She had sex with him at 10.30 so her friends would hardly have gone home by then.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/04/2019 16:35

Thy all sang. Did they then leave while she shagged ?

HollowTalk · 08/04/2019 17:32

Yes, they all sang. The next day she bumped into one of them on the stairs at work and they joked about hangovers. It's very unlikely the other women would have gone home at 10.30, but that's when she was down the alley with the fisherman Grin

Honeyroar · 10/04/2019 21:36

What's the grandmother been in?

OP posts:
keepondreaming · 10/04/2019 21:50

The grandma is played by Tracy Bennet. She's been in lots of things, but as a Corrie fan you'll remember when she played Sharon Gaskell in Corrie!

I can't look at the boss in The Bay without thinking David Brent from The Office!

Honeyroar · 10/04/2019 22:02

I watch Corrie, but can't remember a Sharon Gaskell. Who was she?

I'm still absolutely baffled by what's going on, but enjoying it. Even if it's far fetched.

OP posts:
keepondreaming · 10/04/2019 23:09

She was fostered by Rita & Len.

Oh yeah, I recognise that face, thanks.

Frustrated with this now. Story line is crap, lead actress is unbelievable and the way the investigation is being carried out is nonsensical. I cannot believe that she has NO clue at all as to what her kids are doing, not an inkling. It feels like there are a number of stereotypes all put together in the hope a story will emerge. Wont be watching again .

Clawdy · 11/04/2019 20:14

It should really finish next week, it's playing itself out now.

TattyOldbit · 12/04/2019 21:58

I'm so fed up of crime dramas in general but particularly those that feature child murder. FFS give it a rest. There is such a wide variety of realistic positive stories with heart and soul. Please, oh please, TV schedulers give them a chance.
