Anyone watching?

Yous is also used in the NE.

Been annoying me who the actress playing MC's mother is, realised it's Carol Jackson from Eastenders. Think the lack of London accent threw me.

roisinagusniamh · 28/03/2019 20:05

'Yous's not common throughout Ireland . It's common in Dublin as is 'yis' but your average, middle class person uses 'you'.

Piggywaspushed · 28/03/2019 20:25

It's used in Northern Ireland!

roisinagusniamh · 28/03/2019 21:22

Not used by anyone I know from Northern Ireland.

Piggywaspushed · 28/03/2019 21:35

OK, well, beside the point... definitely used in Glasgow being my point as an aside as in Morven Christie would be familiar with it.

Maybe you're too posh roisin !

OneInAMillionYou · 29/03/2019 04:41

Watched the second episode, what an absolute pile of crap! Couldn't care less about any of the characters, it's all so grim and Jeremy Kyle.

I do think there is a structural problem with drama where the lead character is so unlikeable, she seems to have zero redeeming features.

It's the very worst of ITV drama, and makes 'Cheat' look worthy of a BAFTA.

Monty27 · 29/03/2019 04:46

If even I can keep up with the plot, it's definitely stupid.
I like the filming though Smile

Clawdy · 29/03/2019 09:21

In an interview before the series was shown, the producers and writer were saying enthusiastically how everyone would love the Morven Christie character, and be rooting for her as she tried to balance her job and family! Sadly, she is just not likeable, is she?

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 29/03/2019 09:54

I think the twins mum could be a local. Sean is pure Manc.

Piggywaspushed · 29/03/2019 15:37

Twins' mum is Chanel whofer doofer from This Is England : she's from Notts , I think. The guy that plays Shaun/Sean is actually Irish! Although he always does Manc/ random Northerner type roles.

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 29/03/2019 16:03

Piggy just meant she'd fit in well. She reminds me of a lot of girls I went to school with!

Piggywaspushed · 29/03/2019 16:11

Yeah, reckon she looks the part for many somewhat forlorn towns! (sorry, Morecambe!)

dollybird · 29/03/2019 23:04

Chanel Cresswell was also in Trollied

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/04/2019 14:07

Bloody hell. I didn’t recognise carol from ee aka Lyndsey as granny

Well spotted !!!

Tho I did spot Matthew McNulty as Nicholas Mooney - he was in cleaning up as sams ex hubby

Matthew obv likes itv dramas

And him as shagging LISA then going to his best mates bird

Who he has been having an Affair for last year

Yet still shagging his wife who is about to drop

Obv has some stamina 😂😂😂

dottypotter · 01/04/2019 15:30

Horrible programme. Cheating, lying, murder, drugs, attempted murder, Thanks ITV.

LadyKylieShagworthy · 02/04/2019 09:35

Why do people get so worked up about accents? Not everyone living somewhere has an authentic local accent, people do move about.
You can have a cockney accent and live in Liverpool.

Calzone · 03/04/2019 21:48

Anyone still watching this?

youngestisapsycho · 03/04/2019 21:51

I’m watching but it’s quite boring... don’t really care about anyone.

Rhinosaurus · 03/04/2019 21:52

I am. I am wondering when the policewoman actually parents her own children. The girl is suspended from school but her mum doesn’t seem to be showing any interest in this or how she is spending her day as she is not in school.

This is irritating me so much I don’t know if I can remember any of the other stuff!

Bottomplasters · 03/04/2019 21:52

I am! I like it

Calzone · 03/04/2019 22:01

I’m enjoying this too but I don’t actually care about anyone either.

Honeyroar · 03/04/2019 22:06

I'm watching it too. I'm enjoying it, but I wish the episodes were one every night for four days, rather than weeks. I'm not caring about them much either. And she doesn't parent her kids. At all.

OP posts:
keepondreaming · 03/04/2019 22:12

What relation is Ryan? The missing kids uncle? I missed who he was.

Calzone · 03/04/2019 22:21

That’s the problem dreaming......we don’t care so we don’t actually know who he is.

I think he’s a baddie though.

Clawdy · 03/04/2019 22:43

The Nick kidnapping thing is ridiculous and nasty, but at least they didn't show gratuitous torture scenes. The problem is that none of the adults are likeable, and all the kids are stereotypical troubled teens.
