Totally cringe story with Mary tonight. Hopefully she’ll get half the house from Norris in the divorce settlement. I’m a bit confused why Frieda signs while she is talking? You can hear her speech quite clearly and surely you sign at deaf people, not hearing people? or am I missing something?

Why has Frieda got anything to do with the house. Emily sold it to Norris.

Emily gave the house to Norris so he would be responsible for the upkeep. Emily has a life interest in it. How does that work wrt him selling it.

Why is Norris being so matter-of-fact about things ? I thought Mary would be kicking up a lot more.

Is the whole thing an exit story line for Norris ?

Yes, I thought the signing while talking looked all wrong. It's as if they are desperate to emphasise that she is deaf, so they can tick a box.

I have a friend who is deaf. She signs and talks at the same time, her speech is good but she signs so her children have become 'bi-lingual' as such. It has become 2nd nature for her to do both, she doesn't have to worry about who is listening to her or remember or think about if she's in the company of hearing/hearing impaired people. She covers all bases without a thought!

Whoever wrote those lines for Mary (MURDERER GOLD DIGGER) and thought she should shout them loudly while pointing her finger should be fired and banned from ever writing anything ever again.

I don't think I've ever seen should shite script writing in Coronation Street and I must be watching it for nearly 40 years.

Yes I thought where is Emily going to live, she sold it on the understanding she would have a life tenancy? Mary and Rita are Norris’s family of sorts, all the things they have been through together and he pretty much does not give them the time of day, he sells the cabin without consulting Rita, sells the house his wife lives in, ignores all Mary’s calls etc and is marrying a woman who he really disliked, as usual total character transplant from the Corrie scriptwriters.

Does anyone else think Geoff is a controlling arse? He cancelled Yasmeen’s book club night without even consulting her, (and she did not even bat an eye at that behaviour,, obviously not a mumsnetter) he then manipulates and lies so he can get her to himself that evening , then sulks and strops when after he asked her opinion on the casserole she tells him the ‘cauliflower ‘ was bland and then accuses her of fancying Dev and hating his daughter in law and somehow she ends up apologising to him.....someone needs to let her know about red flags smartish.

She was very mean about the cauliflower though!

When you've been on MN for a while it opens your eyes to behaviours you'd not necessarily have spotted before. Does that make sense? It needs a name of some sort.

I think Geoff, Daniel, Ken, Peter and Jan are all controlling manipulative asshats. Don't see why any woman would go near them.

My teens were outraged by Geoff's behaviour and how he is trying to "get his feet under the table" . Run Yasmine! Is Geoff still living there or has he gone back to his flat?

Geoff is a big baby! He begged her to critique his casserole, insisted on it actually, and then he took offence! Twat! And if my oh was making me a romantic meal, I would be fucking disappointed to be served casserole. I suppose Norris's 'romance' with Frida is the excuse for him staying away so long. I reckon bloody well hope she will be packed off with a flea in her ear once Norris settles back on the street.

I'm sure Mary was in the house when her son etc were there so why did she move.

She would have a key and a room so why didn't she move back in and stake her claim.

I suppose if Angie is gone she is back living at Dev's.

Odd that Mary would squeeze into Dev's elastic house when Norris's house is standing empty.

Who was that bloke Mary had that thing with a couple years ago? I want to say Barry, but not sure that's right. I bet he's sent Mary love letters that Norris has hidden.

Are they trying to make every one nasty ?
I stopped watching EE donkeys years ago, when I realised every one was horrible.
If everyone is nasty then I don't care what happens to them, so there would be no point in watching

I don't know about Geoff (who is rude, pointing at his partner with his cheese on toast, then yelling at her grand daughter to put the kettle on) but his partner seems to be evasive and running out of patience with him.

Didn't the campervan get stolen?

Marys van was impounded by the Council I think.

Your post makes absolute sense Monkey Mumsnet has completely opened my eyes to things that would likely have gone over my head before, it should be on the school syllabus, so many young women would benefit from it.

And Geoff conned his way into moving in with Yasmeen by pretending he’d hurt his back at work.
