Last thread was full.

I thought I was done hearing Tyler’s mums grating voice on my tv but she’s just popped up on a Lidl ad!

This Gemma stuff is truly atrocious.

eddiemairswife · 19/04/2019 20:17

Are we supposed to be enjoying this Gemma nonsense? I'd rather watch a Carry On film.

Housewife2010 · 19/04/2019 20:31

Did anyone enjoy their Bank Holiday on Coronation Street tonight? It was relentless misery.

tinstar · 19/04/2019 20:33

Having given up on Corrie a few weeks ago (after a lifetime viewing) I thought I'd give it another go and watch it tonight. Gave up half way through - what the hell is all that crap with Gemma? Just abysmal.

PrincessScarlett · 19/04/2019 20:38

I did chuckle at the voiceover man at the end with "if you've been affected by Gary's story..." Does anyone actually care about Gary?!

As for poor Gemma, Chesney is such an old man and he's being so mean to her. Yes, she's immature and irresponsible, but I thought he fell for who she is. Now he's just making her bloody miserable. And his poor son always seems bloody miserable too.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 19/04/2019 20:43

What exactly was the point of having a Rita clone in the campsite shop? Confused

FedUpOfBrexit · 19/04/2019 21:38

I'm confused as to how we would be affected by Gary's story?
What him being a nob has affected me?
Who do I phone?!

Clawdy · 19/04/2019 22:13

Out of all the ridiculously improbable storylines and dialogue tonight, the least likely line as Chesney and Co arrive home : " Joseph, go and run yourself a bath..." Shock

Honeyroar · 19/04/2019 22:16

Yes we laughed at that Clawdy! And what young lad happily trots off to run a bath without a “but I’m not dirty/I had one yesterday..”

ellenanora5 · 19/04/2019 23:30

Grin I did the same about the bath, the child has had a miserable holiday, he said more than once he didn't want to go but his father wouldn't listen, he constantly berates Gemma like she's a bold child, he expected her to step up as a mother even though he only stepped up as a father quite recently and his apology (sorry son, it was a shit holiday for you) is get yourself a bath!!

Are you bloody joking me, he's about six years of age and his (completely inept) father let's him run a bath by himself, hope it wasn't scalding water or too deep, christ we may never see Joseph again Shock

Chesney will blame Gemma anyway.

Rhinosaurus · 19/04/2019 23:58

I also am fast forwarding past the Gary scenes, storyline is crap/boring - he is a very unlikable character, even more so since he bullied Seb.

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 20/04/2019 08:13

This reminds me of scene from Classic Corrie when Gail said that Nicky (who was about 4) was 'having a bath and would be down soon.' Kids are very independent in Weatherfield.

CoolShoeshine · 20/04/2019 08:53

That was literally the worst episode of Corrie ever. The writers have managed to turn Gemma from one of the most likeable characters into one of the least. I was hoping the caravan was going to fall off a cliff at one point.

tinstar · 20/04/2019 09:05

Slippery slope! I started fast forwarding the bits I wasn't interested in - any scenes with Gary, Michelle, Chesney, Gemma, Carla, Kate, Rhana, Gail, Peter, Imran (closed eyes Confused), Sinead, Dev .....

Got to a point where I was watching about 5 minutes of each episode. So no point really 🤷‍♀️

Susiesoap7 · 20/04/2019 09:31

Please get rid of Gary, chesney, michelle it's getting beyond bad now!

EachandEveryone · 20/04/2019 14:04

Im watching Carry on up the Jungle. I am preferring it to last nights Corrie. Go, Sid James.

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 21/04/2019 16:33

I'm watching Carry On Loving. No way can Corrie be compared with Carry On films. Let's face it, the acting is better and the plots are far more plausible in Carry Ons.

EachandEveryone · 21/04/2019 20:56

Yes I watched Carry on Loving as well. Its unbelievable how our parents sat down on watched them with us when we were six 🙂🙂. And the campest men have all the women throwing themselves at them!

TattyOldbit · 21/04/2019 21:00

All the Gemma dud "comedy" antics and they've yet to unleash Mary's one woman show, which I swear was supposed to be a thing as I saw her put up a poster some time back..

MrsSteveMcDonald · 21/04/2019 22:06

I love Carry On Films, always have done

Clawdy · 22/04/2019 19:38

Sinead has a mum?? Grin

eddiemairswife · 22/04/2019 20:36

Yes, and her grandmother was Doreen (I think) in Brookside.

So Ken receives a letter from the council on Bank Holiday Monday, but realises there will be no-one there to answer the phone. Surely the actor could have reminded the writers that there would be no post today.
