Last thread was full.

I thought I was done hearing Tyler’s mums grating voice on my tv but she’s just popped up on a Lidl ad!

We laughed that the whole Bradey bunch turned up and said they'd come to help look for Carla, yet a couple of scenes later they were sitting at home having a cup of tea. They didn't put much effort into it!

MsChookandtheelvesofFahFah · 16/04/2019 10:55

Every time I see Nick he's a different person! So cruel at the moment. And his speech is low, slow and deliberate. In fact it's so noticeable I wondered if the actor is on medication for something. Otherwise terrible acting!

Clawdy · 16/04/2019 11:06

It's been poor for a long time, but storylines like the Gary one are so boring. And the attempts at comedy are dreadful, particularly if they involve Gemma or Mary. DD said to me the other night "Why watch it, Mum, when all you do is moan about it?" I still keep watching, though........

SymphonyofShadows · 16/04/2019 17:14

The Gary storyline is so joyless, it made me turn off and watch on catch-up so I could FFWD through the dismal debt collector bits. I’m liking Imran having suspicions about Nick though

eddiemairswife · 17/04/2019 21:39

Where do all the cars come from? Sarah said she followed someone to the roundabout. I didn't know she had a car, let alone had driving lessons. Chesney appeared to have a car to tow the caravan, he's never been seen to drive before.

Redshoeblueshoe · 17/04/2019 21:45

I don't understand cars on Corrie. They all seem to have one, when they need one. But there's never any parked on the road, and no one has a drive, so where do they keep them all ?

ILoveMaxiBondi · 17/04/2019 21:59

Came on to ask the same question about cars! They must all have a car lock up somewhere round the corner.

Couldn’t care less that Gary is beaten to a pulp. Get rid of him. Phelan should have taken him out when he had the chance.

I actually miss phelan. That’s how bad Corrie is nowadays!! Shock

I really liked Gemma before. Now she has absolutely zero endearing qualities.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 17/04/2019 22:31

Gemma is awful. It appears gemma and chez relationship is going to be based around Gemma messing up with Joseph, yet again, in all sorts of “hilarious” ways. And chesney getting angry with her. Hmm

OP posts:
Honeyroar · 17/04/2019 22:33

God I hope Gemma and Ches split up soon. And can they hit Gary harder next time (and a few other people on the street as well).

Clawdy · 17/04/2019 22:39

The bit where Joseph muttered "And then there were two!" was so unrealistic. At the start of the relationship Gemma was quite sensible and kind with Joseph, now she's like an unpleasant older sister.

Honeyroar · 17/04/2019 22:41

And why did Joseph spend half his holiday in the loo??

You'd think that Chesney would be gazing wistfully at Emma, realising and regretting what he let go!

Clawdy · 17/04/2019 22:45

I hope they're not heading for a storyline where he dumps Gemma and is welcomed back by Emma, she is far too nice for such a dour unattractive guy. He and Gemma deserve each other, they are both awful.

Redshoeblueshoe · 17/04/2019 23:25

Clawdy I totally agree. I said to DH tonight Emma needs a really decent BF. CheMa doesn't work.
I think they keep looking for the new Jack and Vera, or Ken and Deidre

ILoveMaxiBondi · 17/04/2019 23:27

Oh please don’t inflict chesney on poor Emma again. It’s bad enough they inflict him on us but leave Emma alone. She’s lovely. I love her behind the bar. Reminds me of Racquel!

OP posts:
Redshoeblueshoe · 17/04/2019 23:35

Ilove yes she does have the qualities of Racquel. She is genuinely kind and lovely, and she doesn't know she's stunning.
I'm also surprised that the men haven't noticed she's stunning, though I may have missed their comments

thenightsky · 18/04/2019 01:08

Emma is no Raquel as far as I can see. Confused

ajandjjmum · 18/04/2019 07:13

I have never felt as little empathy for a character as I do Gary. Please Corrie writers - just get shut!

Cozzo · 18/04/2019 09:39

Nooo, keep Gary.

Nice to see Kev and Dev in it a bit more. Also like the bad lad’s mum Vicky.

I know Imran’s quite annoying to Wayne and the police but he’s not getting much sympathy for the death of his sister.

They’re overusing Gemma. She was good as Kylie’s colourful friend now she’s there all the time being annoying and loud and unlikeable.

MsChookandtheelvesofFahFah · 18/04/2019 09:50

It's either doom and gloom or farce. The caravan set piece was dire. Interaction and chemistry between characters is all you need. Being cynical though, I suppose that doesn't win awards.

Cozzo · 18/04/2019 10:09

Agree chuck.

Wonder if Rick the baddie has potential for a personality transplant and a regular slot.

Deadringer · 18/04/2019 11:26

That caravan is the holiday from hell. Please scriptwriters, Gemma is not funny! I did laugh when Chesney said the charades had worn him out, acting out the 39 steps over and over again. Grin. Emma is lovely and while I thought she brought out the best in Chesney, I hope she doesn't go back with him. Maybe Wayne will ask her out? I have been enjoying it a bit more lately, aside from the caravan stuff, more of David please, and Jenny, and Tim and Sally, they are keeping me watching anyway.

MrsSteveMcDonald · 19/04/2019 14:35

Bit late to this as avoided the thread while I caught up with Corrie

Snog - Steve
Marry - Steve, Tim and Sally
Avoid - Michelle, Kate, too hard to choose just 1 more!

Honeyroar · 19/04/2019 19:50

Ha! Just realised that the campsite and pub that Gemma are in is local to me! We all still wear waistcoats and flat caps around here!

Housewife2010 · 19/04/2019 20:04

I hate the relentless misery that they are putting Gary through. I'm no Gary fan but it isn't entertainment watching one character suffer again and again.
