We have a very particular set of skills. Understand this, schedulers.

Do not mess with us.

It’s too scripted this time - all those ‘funny’ quips🙄.

I can’t choose who will win! How many in the final.

Hazlenutpie · 23/03/2019 23:02

Gutted that Alex has gone. My favourite is now Jilly.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 24/03/2019 07:08

I particularly like Jilly and Irini.

Don't like Thomas.

Acis · 24/03/2019 07:43

Is Tuesday one of those ones where they send them off to work in some wanky restaurant or similar? If so, it can definitely come second to the Sewing Bee.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 24/03/2019 09:07

How many in the final then? And I loved the pottery throwdown - we all watched it in Casa Fekko and were sad when it was pulled!

maddiemookins16mum · 24/03/2019 16:56

My vote is for Jilly or Irini. Delia is from my hometown though.
Thomas is lucky to be there and Dr Lurrve needs to stop crushing walnuts.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 24/03/2019 17:00

I want to know what a Love Psychologist is (but am afraid to ask).

I like Irini - she makes lovely food (and is very pretty, not that this means anything but she has a nice, kind nature) and Jilly because she is Scottish and I admire anyone who had competed in sports at a high level (in awe of their talent and determination).

GabrielleNelson · 24/03/2019 17:39

Jilly to win but I'd be happy for Irini to pip her to the post. Love Psychologist creeps me out - is he some sort of therapist? Eurgh. He seems to be a very good cook but he's a bit disingenuous. Thomas can go. Delia is fine but not sure she's quite up there with the others.

Have issued order for next Friday - we're not watching Deutschland 86 live, it has to be the Masterchef final.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 24/03/2019 18:49

Are all in the final final though - isn’t it usually 3?

GrouchyKiwi · 24/03/2019 20:15

In the final episode there are usually three.

I want it to be Jilly, Irini and Delia now that Alex is out, but they LOVE Dr Lurve so I'm afraid he'll be there.

GabrielleNelson · 24/03/2019 20:19

Yes, a bit of whittling to be done as the week proceeds.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 24/03/2019 20:21

Ok I’m gonna call Jilly, Irini and the Love Walnut.

whatashower · 25/03/2019 07:51

Well I have complained about the timings
“The cavalier scheduling of Masterchef with no set days and no set times seems a slippery slope. You may think in an age of watch on demand it doesn’t matter but it does. In order to view and enjoy at point of broadcast, which I wished to do in order to discuss and share, I have had to check and recheck listings, move appointments and evening meals. There is a value to constancy and order, and I would expect better of the BBC. Your tight scheduling is one of the few remaining features that distinguishes you from second division channels stuffed with non sequential and duplicate repeats. I would urge you to give programme series the respect and airtime they deserve and not expect those viewers who still enjoy scheduled broadcasts to also reschedule their lives.”
Grin

Pencilmuseum · 25/03/2019 09:18

excellent complaint Whatashower. BBC won't know what to do with such a literate letter. I could do with some constancy and order myself.
Jilly or Irini to win but I have a horrible feeling if Len Walnuts doesn't go to pieces, he might get through.

whatashower · 25/03/2019 09:44

pencil it’s not my best work but for a loosely disguised sulk about missing MN chatter and Alex being booted it will do 😀
I realise I have coped thus far ignoring Len Walnuts completely and I share your concern. Hopefully he will attempt walnuts seven ways and go out in a blaze of nutty glory.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 25/03/2019 14:05

Or a walnut steak, shower

I think a walnut steak could be his undoing. (Not sure if I should use the term "undoing" in reference to Luuurve Doctor . . . )

whatashower · 25/03/2019 14:11

Ooh yes, schaden that I’d like to see, a microscopic grilled walnut steak with an acorn thimble of jus ....and er, micro herbs. Overdone, obvs.

GabrielleNelson · 25/03/2019 14:39

Yes, under a giant dome holding in a cloud of walnut smoke. Grin

SchadenfreudePersonified · 25/03/2019 14:44

shower Gabrielle

Grin Grin Grin

We are wasted here.

The three of us should be designing menus for pretentious, overpriced eateries.

whatashower · 25/03/2019 15:09

schaden what makes you think I AM NOT?

Actually, no, I am not really, but wouldn't it be terrific fun. I feel a small theme to weave through the final week emerging here. Allowing for Sewing Bee of course.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 25/03/2019 15:13

Mmmmm . . . . your idea interests me greatly shower . . . . I'm sure that the many Great Minds of MumsNet would be delighted to offer their suggestions

whatashower · 25/03/2019 15:27

Ok then lets say Wednesday - starters, Thursday - mains and Friday final - desserts?. Posts to be pre-fixed by your many menu suggestions wherever possible. Hey, we could even name change.! It may fly or it may not but it stops me grizzling over Alex.

I realised I was lying in bed imagining Patrick Grant taking over from FOGg on MC. That's an over-invested fantasy, isn't it.

Taswama · 25/03/2019 18:56

Place marking for when I can catch up. Go Jilly!

whatashower · 25/03/2019 19:34

Hoping @halsall is crafting a beautiful shiny new finale thread as we speak 😀

Halsall · 25/03/2019 20:08

I'm on it, what Grin

Great complaint btw.

I'm completely bamboozled over what I'm going to do tomorrow with the Sewing Bee/Masterchef clash - we'll need a new MC thread fairly sharpish. Imagine me surrounded by screens with smoke coming out of my ears as I attempt to co-ordinate without self-combusting 🔥🔥
