Anyone watching the new series?

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 09/04/2019 00:41

It took a long time to sentence him didn't it

dronesdroppingzopiclone · 09/04/2019 00:45

Yeah, well, he'd also committed £1m of mortgage fraud, too. He is a thieving cunt who felt entitled to the high life courtesy of everyone who pays insurance and mortgage insurance.

Tutlefru · 09/04/2019 00:49

God imagine actually being married to him.

Wonder if his poor wife stuck by him. Nothing surprises me.

dronesdroppingzopiclone · 09/04/2019 00:51

Who knows, maybe she was in on it and he took the heat to keep her out of prison (although he's so up himself I find that hard to imagine). If he were made of chocolate he'd eat himself.

PatricksRum · 09/04/2019 01:12

I can't believe how stupid he was!
Such a poor attempt at fraud.
"Oh I have a matching fireplace" 🙄 please

bettyshine · 09/04/2019 06:55

What an insufferable man he was, and such a crap criminal Grin.

Must've been a fun case to work on! They got a little road trip to Ireland with very little risk involved!

bettyshine · 09/04/2019 06:56

"I can't BELIEVE you've just shown me a photo of my own candlestick! So triggering!"

RandomMess · 09/04/2019 09:10

The police commented when they interviewed the wife she said something like "nothing was stolen all my jewellery was still upstairs"!!!!

Cocolepew · 09/04/2019 09:37

The policewamans face during the interview was priceless at time.

SouthWestmom · 09/04/2019 09:46

He did have a very tragic back story though, with his whole family dying when he was young? I don't think he can have had an easy start in life

TansyViola · 09/04/2019 09:51

Was he young? I assumed it was when he was an adult

TansyViola · 09/04/2019 09:59

Was the mortgage fraud getting mortgages by pretending he had money he didn't have so he wouldn't be able to keep up his payments?

purpleme12 · 09/04/2019 10:09

I wondered what was meant by mortgage fraud but didn't know if I was being stupid Blush

TansyViola · 09/04/2019 10:11

The policeman in Ireland made some comment suggesting he was in awe of the family's standing. Something about not wanting to draw attention to them because of who they are

LittleChristmasMouse · 09/04/2019 10:39

Was the mortgage fraud getting mortgages by pretending he had money he didn't have so he wouldn't be able to keep up his payments?

Basically, yes. It wasn't on the programme in the news reports - basically false information about earnings for his wife and I think a false report from a job that he was no longer at.

TansyViola · 09/04/2019 10:42

I feel sorry for his wife and kids.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 09/04/2019 11:03

How on earth did he think he would get away with this! It's astounding .... pure arrogance maybe due to his job etc.

TansyViola · 09/04/2019 11:18

The fireplace was hideous

Nicknacky · 09/04/2019 11:20

Apart from cheating on her, I don’t feel sorry for his wife at all.........

ABC1234DEF · 09/04/2019 11:20

For a well educated and one can assume probably pretty intelligent, he was fairly stupid! Must have pretty big issues if on the verge of bankruptcy on a surgeon + GP salary and a house (or two) full of antiques.

bordellosboheme · 09/04/2019 11:28

Anyone else have him down as a psychopath? Clearly deluded about his own superiority anyway.

LittleChristmasMouse · 09/04/2019 11:51

Anyone else have him down as a psychopath?

There was definitely something very frightening about him. I would not want him operating on anyone. I cannot believe he took any challenge to his judgement very well.

RoseDog · 09/04/2019 12:15

I watched this morning then googled for the news reports, he will never think he has done anything wrong or be responsible for his actions, he will always be the wronged one!

The way he spoke to the ladies interviewing him really annoyed me!

dronesdroppingzopiclone · 09/04/2019 12:20

Apart from cheating on her, I don’t feel sorry for his wife at all.........

I don't, either. I'll bet you my granny's ashes she's still living in the lap of luxury, 4 kids in private school, etc. Don't see how she didn't know he was sheisty.

Yeah, boohoo, plenty of us have had a shit start in life. Doesn't mean you go thief. FFS. Wonder what the reactions would be if it were a single mum on benefits poaching £40k off the dole. There'd be no 'Her poor partner,' 'She had a rough start in life, being a care leaver' but 'bang her up for life! Stole from the taxpayer!' Well, he stole from taxpayers, too, the ones who pay their insurance and use banks within the law.

LittleChristmasMouse · 09/04/2019 12:30

I don't understand how he appeared to have assets - his car, a house in Ireland a ton of antiques, he was earning £84 000 a year and his wife was a GP. They then took out a million pound mortgage to buy another house. Why on earth would he not sell property rather than lose his entire career swindling the insurance company?
