Anyone watching the new series?

OP posts:

My daughter (a senior nurse) says most surgeons display that kind of arrogance.

HollowTalk · 09/04/2019 12:41

Was he actually cheating on his wife? I didn't see any mention of that.

I think he was so entitled. He thought the police were stupid and the insurance people were stupid and thought he was so high up that they'd kow tow to him and believe him.

What annoyed me was the fact he got 8 years, when the drug importer last week got about 2 years and the bastards with thousands of photos of child abuse got suspended sentences.

LittleChristmasMouse · 09/04/2019 12:41

eddiemairswife

That's just not true and I've worked in both the NHS and private setting.

Only ever worked with 1 like this and he was struck off!!!!

Yes they are confident in their abilities, willing to take calculated and informed risks etc but no dr should ever make staff to scared to raise a question or concern. That is not a safe person to be caring for patients. People like that get a god complex and don't work in the best interests of their patients.

dronesdroppingzopiclone · 09/04/2019 12:42

Why on earth would he not sell property rather than lose his entire career swindling the insurance company?

Because he's a lying sociopathic tit who believes he's so great he's entitled to have everything in life because he's the big I Am.

LittleChristmasMouse · 09/04/2019 12:42

Was he actually cheating on his wife? I didn't see any mention of that.

According to reports yes, multiple times. He admitted it in court, for the first time, apparently.

I think you have it in one there.

What an idiot. He could have had a great life had he not been so greedy.

dronesdroppingzopiclone · 09/04/2019 12:44

Was he actually cheating on his wife? I didn't see any mention of that.

It was back when he and his wife were trying for one of their kids.

Lemonsquinky · 09/04/2019 12:47

I thought psychopath or narcissist. I think he was incredibly arrogant both in his manner and thinking he could leave the 'stolen' items in the house and to take the photo after the fireplace was 'stolen'.
Also the product of a privileged background gave him a false sense of superiority .People treat rich people differently.
Many psychopaths make good surgeons as they are analytical, self confident, make quick decisions and can think on their feet. Not all psychopaths are bad people.

Cocolepew · 09/04/2019 13:21

In the news report linked up the thread, he bought his £50,000 Maserati in the middle of serious money problems. He told the police he was a bit rubbish with money Hmm
It's all image.

HollowTalk · 09/04/2019 13:30

Given he earned £85,000, he actually spent virtually all of his take home pay for that year on a car. I would love to see a psychiatric assessment of this guy.

Lemonsquinky · 09/04/2019 13:35

I think they said was family money, not personal money at the beginning.

Sagradafamiliar · 09/04/2019 14:55

Total narcissist. He couldn't believe he was going in the cells and when he was asked if he needed a break, asked for a coffee. Couldn't resist talking and so was unable to stick to the 'no comments'. Thought the police would be on his side and was so entitled he felt personally betrayed that they built a case 😱
I was laughing my head off at Dave standing next to that fireplace. What a legend.

dronesdroppingzopiclone · 09/04/2019 15:03

Oh, yeah, I'd like to go home. 'I'd like you to shut your hole until you decide to quit lying, you prick!' is probably what she was thinking.

misscockerspaniel · 09/04/2019 16:42

I felt sorry for his wife because he came across as a domineering, misogynistic piece of work.

He was very good at thinking on his feet - when he was asked how he had got the fire surround down into the basement and he said by the French (?) way, cutting it up in to pieces.

dronesdroppingzopiclone · 09/04/2019 16:51

Oh, please! His wife is no fool. She certainly didn't mind all four kids in private schools and living in poncy places and money to do it all up plus flash cars and what not.

Sagradafamiliar · 09/04/2019 16:54

Same, miss. When he was being interviewed I thought 'imagine being in a relationship with that controlling narc' sent a shiver down the spine!

Lemonsquinky · 09/04/2019 17:07

It must have been awful finding out in court that he had cheated so many times he couldn't remember. That must be a lot of of times!

CatWhisker · 09/04/2019 18:20

Yes including having an affair when they were ttc which came out in court and had her in tears. The police said he tried to prevent them speaking to her and that when they did she said "Nothing is missing, not even my jewellery" Plus she was found not guilty in court.
She said she was busy looking after the kids and caring for an elderly parent so let him deal with the finances.
She's now left dealing with their debt and the mess he's created, probably having to take the kids out of the school they know as well as missing their dad.

dronesdroppingzopiclone · 09/04/2019 19:52

Wonder what happened to the house. Guess the mortgage company seized it and then had to make the structural repairs it needed to be sold.

IStillMissBlockbuster · 09/04/2019 20:16

I just watched this absolutely incredulous at his staggering ego and utter stupidity!!! What a crap criminal! It's actually insulting that he didn't put more effort in.

HairyToity · 09/04/2019 20:44

Regarding family money it says elsewhere on the internet he has two brothers. Often property is in trust, or left to oldest son (which may not be him), or after solicitor fees and three way split the final inheritance isn't as much as you might assume, or his parents overspent and there was little cash left.

I thought he was brought up to be entitled but not kind.

If he'd been sensible he would have lived within his means, and sold the items that were not in trust.

Groovee · 09/04/2019 20:50

Apparently the 1.1million pound house is structurally unsafe and cannot be sold...

CaptainMarvelDanvers · 09/04/2019 22:00

He was so arrogant. He thought he was so clever that he could talk his way out of it, the clever thing to have done would be a “no comment” interview.

He’s a shit criminal.

Pengrin · 09/04/2019 22:34

The fact that he sent his solicitor home before the second interview showed his arrogance. He thought he could convince the police until she presented him with the findings of the searches, then he went no comment again Confused

Nicknacky · 09/04/2019 22:56

I don’t think we know he sent the lawyer home, do we? I have had interviews where the lawyer hasn’t stayed and it been in agreement with lawyer and client.
