Anybody else planning to watch tonight? Part 1 of 2, 9pm, Channel 4.

I'm very intrigued to watch. I remember the Martin Bashir documentary being aired years ago, and the various backlashes/criticisms that happened afterwards.

Again the claim in that article that he was under constant FBI surveillance when he was not.

Constant FBI surveillance for ten years that should say.

Thanks Minister for your input on this thread. I have some experience of developmental trauma and from that perspective I believe these men. It is simply not normal for an adult man to have intense relationships with many preteen boys ans share beds with them. If it was Pete the scout leader or Sid the driving instructor we would be in no doubt at all. Those poor boys.

alaric77 - No one is saying that the wives/brother/sister etc are lying? No I think that they are reacting naturally as they believe their family member. Those are all authentic.

Toottrousers, I am not talking about them as kids. That example is from now and just one example of the differences. As an adult after when he made the documentary and when he did the Oprah interview. That is when the inconsistency occurred. How hard is it to understand?

Why the fuck would anyone think that Mark Lester's testament has even a tenth of the relevance and veracity as that of the boys who were there?

When James told his mother Michael was bad, he didn't tell her any other details at the time. Just that he was not a good man and she shouldn't feel bad for him. Is it so hard to believe he told her the full story later? He is a ruined man. Robson is a slicker individual who I feel was conflicted because he knows he benefited (career wise) from the association and I think people don't believe him just because he is - surface only - less visibly damaged. But James (sorry forgotten his surname as I'm typing this) is clearly broken. I believe everything he says.

In the interest of fairness, anyone wanting to watch this for more examples of contradictions in story, between Wade and his own sister for example. There are loads of them.

Again Michael Jackson could have raped a child on stage and some of his fans would deny that it happened or find some excuse for it. There's not a chance in hell that they'd give their neighbour a fraction of the benefit of the doubt if he'd been having 'sleepovers' with boys, sending them constant faxes and calls and generally behaving incredibly inappropriately.

No one is talking about genuine victims here. Genuine victims should be fully supported. Not someone who makes a claim and amends that story at least four times. We are talking about two different subjects here.

I'm not the one thinking that a grown man sleeping in a bed with children is perfectly normal, spending as much time as he did with them, talking about them as though they were a lover, not children, bouncing them in his knee, holding hands, dropping many of them for a younger model etc. Do you really think that you'd be defending your average Joe who did that?
