The bike

purpleme12 · 29/12/2019 21:10

The bike scene?

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 30/12/2019 13:13

I didn't see that coming (Mason) either.
I hope we do get the back story about Mason & why he was the way he was.
I really don't like the person Ethan is becoming but the punch from Rash appears to have bought some of Ethan's kindness back.
I was also wondering if Rash was having some kind of nightmare/dream at the beginning.
I liked the on call manager Marina. I knew she had a good heart & the cakes proved it.

Neet Mohan (Rash) & Maddy Hill (Ruby) are brilliant actors & have seen them in other things. I think they will both go very far.

I'm not too bothered about Mason either. Yeah he wasn't all bad but I still wasn't keen on him. And I knew it would be natural causes. Don't really know why the hospital seemed to jump so readily to him doing it intentionally I mean sure it would be a possibility but they seemed to more be jumping to that conclusion

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 30/12/2019 18:48

I mean, I wasn't gutted about Mason. I was actually quite relieved that we would no longer have to try to work out whether or not the script writers wanted us to like him that week. Didn't they find caffeine tablets in his locker? Perhaps he overdid them and had a heart attack.

QueenofmyPrinces · 30/12/2019 22:15

Wasn’t expecting the Mason storyline at all! Initially I too thought Rash was hallucinating.

I liked the Floor Manager and the new ACP. It was nice to see professional, senior females who haven’t been written as arrogant, smug, rude and unpleasant people, like most of them usually are (Connie and Jac Naylor for example).

When Rash was hugged by the autistic boy at the end and started to cry, it made me really well up too!!

Not sure why they showed Rash walking away from his bike though? Was it just because it reminded him of when Mason rode it and so he didn’t want it anymore? I was just a bit confused by it.

And as sad as the episode was, it was nice to see a lot of focus on my favourite sexy characters: Dylan, Rash and Ethan! The Ex-Army guy was also very attractive too so I feel like I’ve been spoilt Grin

sweetkitty · 30/12/2019 22:24

Watched it today (I save it for ironing) wasn’t fussed about Mason. Dylan needs a love interest and some happiness.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/01/2020 19:11

Finally seen last weeks. Late as usual

Looked like mason had a heart attack. Was about to answer his phone

Did feel sorry for rash

Don’t care about Dustin and chariot

Optimist1 · 04/01/2020 21:59

I know I'm in the minority here, but I wasn't pleased to see Connie back again. Glad that only a few people were enthusiastic about her return - she did a lot of damage before. Surely it would make more sense for her to have a fresh start in some other hospital?

I didn't catch what was said about that monstrosity on Charlie's upper lip - whatever it was, it's not the sort of thing I'd want to see on any health care professional treating me!

purpleme12 · 04/01/2020 22:06

No I think she should have been fired
Although I can't deny she adds something to the programme

They didn't say why his lip was like that

FuzzyPigeon · 04/01/2020 22:17

They did say. Duffy attacked Charlie over Christmas

purpleme12 · 04/01/2020 22:25

Charlie said new year was eventful and pointed to his lip mark but nothing else was said

😆 we have a small tele so can't see that much detail! 😆

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 05/01/2020 08:59

Was there some tension involving Dylan and paramedic Lev? I think I must have been not paying attention when the new nurse (?) was introduced because I completely missed who she was and I was surprised that it already seemed to have been established that Dylan fancied her and was therefore annoyed when she turned out to be married.

purpleme12 · 05/01/2020 09:04

I know other people have said that last week they thought there might be something between Dylan and Faith but I have to say I didn't get that impression.
And didn't think there was any tension between him and Lev

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 05/01/2020 09:11

I was thinking of that bit where Faith and Lev were canoodling in the staff room and Dylan was looking pissed off. But then, that is Dylan's default face, so it's difficult to tell. I thought that was what we were supposed to think.

I got the impression Duffy had hit Charlie. God knows I don't want their storyline to be given any more space than it already has, but it seemed odd that it had just been hinted at and then not mentioned again.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 05/01/2020 09:30

I hope they're not setting up another love triangle involving Dylan - the last one sent him off the rails and back on the booze.

I suspect that Connie will be there for Charlie in his hours of need in the near future.

purpleme12 · 05/01/2020 09:41

Yes I know I just think Dylan was in bad place then.
I don't get the impression it's a love triangle but hey I could be wrong it's just what I get from

I do agree that it was probably Duffy who did that to Charlie
It's just he never said. Slightly odd that he never said about it but yes I think it was her

Squigean · 05/01/2020 09:55

He did say it was Duffy - at the start when he was talking to Robyn about Christmas.

Do you think in reality the actor injured himself (or has a severe cold sore) and they just threw in a passing comment to explain it?

purpleme12 · 05/01/2020 09:57

I had the subtitles on and even looked back at it cos I didn't understand how I could have missed it

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 05/01/2020 10:39

Squigean it did look like a cold sore. I don't know why they didn't just say that instead of making a throwaway hint of domestic violence. I have a feeling that there will be a storyline at some point about Duffy turning physically aggressive but it needs to be dealt with properly and sensitively if that's the case.

I'm sure there was a discussion at some point about Charlie retiring but for whatever reason they decided he was absolutely indispensable and that he had to stay. It was during a period when I wasn't really watching Casualty regularly so I could be wrong!

purpleme12 · 05/01/2020 10:41

Yes I agree about the first paragraph.

I think like someone said a while ago I think he might have retired years ago but then changed his mind? I seem to have a vague recollection of this
