I thought tonight's episode showed a major improvement on recent ones. Mind you, no Connie, minimal Jacob and a decent amount of Dylan tends to have that effect for me.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 18/08/2019 08:10

Poor Ethan Sad.

Rash seems a changed man. I know his mother has just died but I am wondering whether he is going to become more devout (and this may impact adversely on his relationship with Gem). Or maybe Gem will convert to Islam?

QueenofmyPrinces · 18/08/2019 08:54

Just caught up....

I enjoyed the episode and I hope to see more of Dylan.

I can’t quite understand where Gemma was though? Surely he wouldn’t have just left her abroad in a strange country whilst he can’t back for his mom’s funeral? And as his girlfriend surely she’d want to come back with him to support him??

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 18/08/2019 09:05

@QueenofmyPrinces didn't Rash say something to Ian along the lines of: "Gem's fine."?

QueenofmyPrinces · 18/08/2019 09:20

I know he did.... which I took to mean that Gem was still back in whatever country she’d gone to visit Rash (I can’t remember which one).

And then at the end, when Dylan offered Rash a job back in the hospital, Rash said, “There’s just the problem of my girlfriend being a million miles away, halfway around the world.”

Or something to that effect.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 18/08/2019 10:05

Oh I fell asleep towards the end, so that would make sense.

Susiesoap7 · 18/08/2019 11:00

Well I thought it was a load of rubbish!

spiderlight · 18/08/2019 13:16

Yes, it sounds as if she's stayed in Thailand. Bit odd. The scene at the end with people not wanting to sit near him on the bus was sad. All too real :(

TimeIhadaNameChange · 18/08/2019 13:23

I thought Rash was being set up as a victim of a revenge attack.

CaptainHammer · 18/08/2019 13:55

I’ve just started watching last nights episode. I can’t get over Ethan’s “oh I thought it was an automatic” line. Seriously?! You’ve been sat next to this guy very clearly changing gears as he drives around a course!

RedForShort · 19/08/2019 15:36

Poor Ethan. Wonder if he starts wearing his glasses again he'll get better - like a reverse of last time.

Do you think Casualty is having a budget crisis. For a supposed crisis worthy of clearing out the EDs of two hospitals there were very few extras being wheeled around to create the chaos and extreme busy nature a crisis worthy of that would cause. Haven't we had tents erected outside before to cope with a crisis?

I'm really emotional at the moment (blaming hormones as I've no other explanation) but I found the explosion and Etan being trapped hard going.

Think I need to get out more!!!

I thought exactly the same! That was a bit odd!

Tonnerre · 19/08/2019 15:55

I fear this may be the beginning of the end for Ethan - expecting his Huntingdon's to start showing symptoms soon.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 19/08/2019 16:30

Yes, think you're right @Tonnerre about it being a turning point episode for poor Ethan.

RedForShort · 19/08/2019 16:49

Part 2 next week isn't it? I do agree Rash is being set up for a revenge attack of some degree.

I wish David would stop being a dick to Rosa.

Abillity2019 · 24/08/2019 22:11

If Connie was still in charge she’d have told that new guy that no-one likes a grass. With no witnesses of course.

purpleme12 · 24/08/2019 22:50

Yes that's what he needed

Abillity2019 · 24/08/2019 22:54

Also his comment ‘I didn’t train for 7 years to babysit’ went unchecked. Come back soon Connie!

purpleme12 · 24/08/2019 23:03

I still can't forgive Connie for what she did.
And I don't think it's reported has it?

DobbyTheHouseElk · 25/08/2019 08:19

Have they got new writers of something? I didn’t understand last nights episode at all. What was the storyline about the baby about? Were was it taking us? It’s so disjointed at the moment.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 25/08/2019 08:25

It was very doctor centric last night, wasn't it, with the exception of the brief Duffy/Charlie interlude.

I think the baby story was more a reflection on Rash than anything else.

Anyone else spot a potential romance between Ethan and Effie?

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 25/08/2019 08:54

Ew. I do not like the new doctor at all. Completely unnecessary. I'm a big Rash fan so totally biased obviously. 😂

RedForShort · 25/08/2019 09:03

Oh another know-it-all , arrogant and superior new doctor.

I'm mean, he can't grasp why a dying baby might be overwhelming to him. Stropping because he had to do something he deemed beneath him for 10 minutes, to help out a colleague caring for a patient. (Think the baby story was in to show Rash as a decent doctor who cares for patients, in contrast to new doctor, who proved to be useless with speaking to the mum.)

Can we have some nice new doctors please?

Thought that. But hope not!! Friend's dying daughter and all that.
