When is it back? I'm sure I read somewhere that it would be back in April. Does anyone have any theories about the storyline or characters?

The AC12 triumvirate comprising Hastings, Arnott and Fleming will definitely be back.

What about Roz Huntley? and her rather drippy DH ?

Wil Nige feature? and will we find out how and why Maneet was being blackmailed by Hilton?

I can't wait, frankly.

I think Ted put the H thing to bed too quickly and Kate is suspicious. Arnott looked hot in his little waistcoat.

I did think Lise couldn’t be the UCO as that was too obvious. Maybe she’s just in deeper than she has been before.

Poor Maneet. She’s gone to the same place as Hilton and the Social Worker.

They were trying to give the impression Ted was ringing the woman in the OCG. But I'm assuming that's a red herring.

It lacked the punch of other openings I thought on the whole. And I say this as a huge fan.

Early days but not sure I like this new set up.
I was a bit hmm when I heard it was about the balaclava gang rather than catching out another corrupt officer.

I don't think Maneet put the device in the phone. Remember she was given the phone. It was an excuse to bump her off.

Aaah but did anyone else spot what I spotted? . I can't do the whole screenshot thing but the two black-clad henchmen who were with Corbett when he was grilling Maneet at the end? The thinner one? it's Ryan, the wayward bike boy working for Tommy Hunter in series 1, the one who delivered phones and tried to cut Arnott's fingers off in a vice. I recognised him and literally shouted out loud to my dd and dh " OMG it's Ryan". We did some rewinding and then checked his name at the end. It's definitely him.

'Operation Peartree' ? sounds suspiciously like 'Yewtree'.

Maneet didn't divulge her sources did she? there is definitely something much bigger going on with her cousin and her but we won't find that out for a while. The place where her throat was cut was the same place as where Lloyd-Stephens and also Hilton were murdered wasn't it?

I am liking series 5; more of a slow burner perhaps without the operatic opening sequence of series 3 and 4 ( actually 1 and 2 as well) but it's very gripping. Stephen Graham crackles with evil electricity.

Well, holy mother of God as Ted would say! Roll on next week.
