Sorry couldn't see a thread for this..

Did anyone watch it last night?

Just catching up with it now on iPlayer. I'm pleased to see Lynn is in it.

That's the second series. Not as good as the first

Savoury99 · 20/03/2019 21:21

The chocolate mousse night and the swingers episode "Lynn, these are sex people'. So many funny ones episodes.

PigeonofDoom · 20/03/2019 21:24

I think the second series is as good. I didn’t at the time but they grew on me and I do love Sonia and her Alan pillows 😂

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 20/03/2019 21:33

I love it when she takes notes of his fry up feedback Grin

Has anyone seen 'Ideal Home' with Steve Coogan and Paul Rudd? It's a fab film.

Watched this tonight, loved it. They were both brilliant and the child actor who played Bill.

MadauntofA · 22/03/2019 22:08

His funniest line was"cashback" - does anyone remember that?

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 22/03/2019 23:48

I've also just watched Ideal Home this evening. I liked it although I thought Coogans character was a bit OTT whereas Paul Rudd actually acted. God he's hot.

Ahh yes, cashback! And "back of the net" still is used regularly in our house.

Savoury99 · 23/03/2019 10:22

I think Steve Coogan's character was supposed to be OTT though. Have you seen Tom in Celebs go Dating? Some some gay men are like that and some aren't. I agree though Paul Rudd was hot, he's matured well since playing Phoebe's Husband in Friends.

cushioncovers · 23/03/2019 11:23

I think Coogans character was suppose to be ott self obsessed, and fickle whilst Rudd's character was the 'grown up' almost a bit like how Johnny Depp overplayed the character Jack Sparrow. Silly but it worked.

'Mother parliament is worn out because of the 600 members inside her'

"Let's hire some Albanians to fuck him up" GrinGrin

Loved the Sisters are Doing it for Themselves at the end, with the women reduced to backing vocals

covetingthepreciousthings · 27/03/2019 07:24

I'm glad we stuck with this series, was a bit dubious at the beginning but really enjoying it as it's progressed.

PigeonofDoom - Love that episode and the line just before that clip where lynne says to cancel it and he says 'but some of these people have come from Stoke' Grin

cushioncovers · 27/03/2019 08:27

'Only the curator can touch the books. ' and his face when she described the word for the testicules hanging lower than the penis. Grin

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 27/03/2019 12:31

I think it jarred on me a little because of the contrast, like you say Rudd played a guy quite grown up in the relationship and quite serious and I just found Coogan a bit daft. I still enjoyed it though and liked them both. I think I was expecting something more like The Fundamentals of Caring as it had the young boy in it. Have no idea where this expectation came from but I think Coogan could be brilliant in a surprisingly serious role. Kind of like Steve Carell.

Aware I'm totally rambling Confused

But yes enjoyed this weeks, god the lips. Yet more nightmarish imagery!

Pissed my self laughing with the sparring with Ruth Again "That's literally what I've just said!"

headinhands · 27/03/2019 12:45

I love the references to his ex wife 😂

AndSheWas85 · 27/03/2019 16:55

I think Irish lookalike Martin Brennan will go down in comedy history for his "WHO DA HELL IS DATH?" while talking to Alan, only to interrupt him with his rendition of Come Out Ye Black and Tans.

Savoury99 · 28/03/2019 12:34

Really loving the series.

'Only the curator can touch the books. ' and his face when she described the word for the testicules hanging lower than the penis. grin

His facial expressions are so funny.

fruitbastille · 28/03/2019 13:39

I really laughed at the mention of lynn falling into nettles and also her smelling like stuffing.

Savoury99 · 28/03/2019 16:13

When he he was talking about missing out on meeting Princess Anne because of refusing to brush the ladies hair again.

Savoury99 · 28/03/2019 16:15

Pissed my self laughing with the sparring with Ruth Again "That's literally what I've just said!"

Yes, Ruth really does not like Alan.

headinhands · 29/03/2019 11:21

I love the looks he gives just after he's said something bizarre, like even he's thinking 'wtaf is wrong with me??'

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 29/03/2019 19:10

The opening credits are so funny, especially when he does that hoppy/skippy thing with both hands in his back pockets.
