Sorry couldn't see a thread for this..

Did anyone watch it last night?

Just catching up with it now on iPlayer. I'm pleased to see Lynn is in it.

"Maybe it's time to take a fresh look at Shell" 😁😀🤣

EdWinchester · 27/02/2019 19:28

I watched it with my 16 year old, so seeing it through fresh eyes with him.

We laughed on and off for about an hour at the Clunt/Fluck line and the long studio walk in complete silence.

I have heard from those who have seen next week's that it's very funny.

HoraceCope · 27/02/2019 21:15

Clunt was about the only thing I laughed at, cringing most of the time

headinhands · 27/02/2019 21:53

"Terrrrerrists" 🥴

kennypppppppp · 28/02/2019 21:44

i started off a bit ugh about it. thought it got funnier (can't remember when) and thought it ended up all a bit W1A. sigh. and i loved W1A but i thought coogan wouldn't have gone there, as they say.

i am knee deep in The Trip again though. which is the bestest thing ever (says me) so nothing compares to that (as sinead conner almost sung)

Lottapianos · 01/03/2019 08:19

'I am knee deep in The Trip again though'

I just love Series 1 of The Trip. Everything about it is perfect - the food, the scenery, the impressions! And how very melancholy it is as well as being ridiculously funny

headinhands · 01/03/2019 09:28

"Maybe it's time to take a fresh look at Shell". 😝

"If we could make this show 10% more Foxtons then we will have something really quite special" 😅

noseagony · 01/03/2019 20:57

How did he pronounce antibiotics? I can't remember but it really made me laugh.

I really enjoyed it, I think it takes a while to adjust to a new format.

Loved the

The bit with Tim key was excruciating though.

headinhands · 01/03/2019 22:03

Anitbeeotics

That was it! Thanks Grin

Only half watched 2nd episode last night as was falling asleep. Will watch again later. So much cringe again though 😂😂

Savoury99 · 05/03/2019 15:07

I thought it was funny last night. I love him.

PerfumeandOranges · 06/03/2019 10:45

I thought it was awful and I'm disappointed. Won't be watching again and I had been looking forward to it so much.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 06/03/2019 10:54

I wasn't sure about this one I thought at times he was over egging the idiot factor a bit. Although I love the chap who does the twitter bits (can't remember his name).

I'm not sure if my "can't make my mind up" feeling is because I spend most of each episode in a permanent state of Cringe with my clenched bum cheeks virtually glued together. It's truly painful tv.

The80sweregreat · 06/03/2019 11:48

only watched half of episode two - it is funny how he changes the way people say things in order to look better than a presenter that died! sad really and he thinks that they dont realise his doing it.
Its not great, but i find my self smiling at how over the top he is.

PerfumeandOranges · 06/03/2019 12:00

I thought that particular episode was a bit insensitive, as our local news programme did recently suffer the loss of a presenter and they all seemed to be genuinely upset. I know this programme was filmed well in advance of her death but I- and I wasn't alone it my feeling locally-thought it was unfortunate.

Anyway, aside from that-it just wasn't funny apart from the bit where the posh chap came on.

Savoury99 · 06/03/2019 13:27

I love his facial expressions though and how cringe he is. I can remember watching it when I was younger and thought he was a real person. Steve Coogan can do no wrong in my eyes though. I do get how some people don't get it but I could see the old Alan more in this episode which I liked.

headinhands · 07/03/2019 16:58

"He has gone. At the weekend." 😆

PerfumeandOranges · 07/03/2019 23:34

I do get it and I still think it isn't very funny. He used to be but not in this. It has just veered on to the wrong side of bizarre when before, the character was completely believable-real life just geared up a few notches.

Anyway, its apparently losing viewers in droves so I guess I'm not alone.

Savoury99 · 08/03/2019 11:47

Another marmite comedian has a new show tonight on Netflix. Looking forward to that. Ricky Gervais in Afterlife.

Savoury99 · 09/03/2019 07:26

He has always been on the wrong side of bizarre.

PerfumeandOranges - I agree totally with regard to the death of a much-loved north west presenter. DH and I felt it was very uncomfortable viewing 🙁, even though we’re big AP fans 😪.
