Watched the first four of this so far. Very quirky and Wes Andersonish but the music is brilliantly done, and it's very original even within the superhero genre

Mary J Blige was the Cha Cha the assassin, not Allison.
Well that'll make me even less confused!! Though evidently I have no recall of what Mary J Blige looks like at all!!! I'd just thought Allison as her name came up early as presumed she was one of the main characters (we won't go I to Cha Cha being fairly noticeable in her role!). Have been thinking she hadn't aged at all.

(I am awful with remembering faces. I havent recognised colleagues outside of the workplace!!)

So as you may have figured I'm not that quick on the uptake and prone to confusion. Here's a few questions:

Why doesn't Five have a name. The others got one, from Grace, but it looks like she arrived when they were four (maybe five) yet they call him Number five or Five. Why!!!!?

Father Hardgreaves 'status' wasn't clearly expressed was it? As I said I'm not the quickest, but I didn't pick up that he wasn't human from the start of episode 10. Other than he was around (and with a woman?) At a time that would mean he was extraordinarily old when he adopted the seven. I didn't quite figure out what was supposed to be occurring outside the window!! In my usual way when something doesn't make sense I just brushed it aside and forgot about it (till now).

Also i couldnt figure out why he decided Vanya needed to be medicated. Why didn't he teach her to control her power? (Though it does seem he also didn't tell Klaus the full extent of his power with the dead.)

When do you think Harold decided to manipulate Vanya? I guess he left jail seeking revenge and got lucky with finding the book?

I was wondering if the reason Five doesn't have a name is because the Mom only named them after 5 was gone

Mom wasn't on the scene til they were about 5 because he built her as an indestructible Nanny named Grace for Vanya

So Leonard/ Harold and Vanya

Harold was an Umbrella Academy superfan who felt like he should be one of them because he shared their birthday but Hargreaves sent him packing.

Later Vanya wrote her book about how awful it was to be the spare part, and he found a sympathetic ally in her

He was following Klaus having just been released from prison but having gone back to stalking when Klaus dumped the book which revealed Vanya had extreme powers subdued by meds

So he made it is goal to finally get into the academy via her, and by tagging on to her tremendous power with no real idea that she could and would kill him.

Hargreaves is an alien who came to Earth from a dying planet. Don't know full backstory but that's why he had no human emotion for the children he wasn't human
