Hellllloooooo! Anyone there?

OP posts:
slayerette · 17/07/2007 14:05

Check it's not Lee's holiday week! He's having a week off here and there - we bought tickets through ALW's theatre company site (the Really Useful something or other) and that had the dates Lee wouldn't be performing.

slayerette · 17/07/2007 14:06

I'm a circle woman myself - like to look down on everyone

BoingBoing · 17/07/2007 14:09

It's ok, he's on holiday later on in March - you didn't think he'd take my birthday off did you!!!!

Yes, Slayerette, I love to look down on people too. Or drop things on their heads if I get bored.

slayerette · 17/07/2007 14:21

Time for me to say 'So long, farewell...' Off to the phenomenally wet New Forest for a week - camping . Make sure I have lots to read when I get back (obviously, with a few comments thrown in about how much you're all missing me)and don't eat all the jammy dodgers.

Have fun - think of me shivering on Bournemouth beach and convincing ds that, yes, this really is his summer holiday (poor love!)

BoingBoing · 17/07/2007 14:28

Uh-oh! Have you seen the weather forecast for this week? Are you SURE you want to go?
And of course we'll miss you. We'll even have the lifeboats on standby to rescue you when the New Forest goes under water.

binkleandflip · 17/07/2007 14:43

boing, definitely take up the 'adam option' tis very much worth it (especially if dh is treating you )

LoonyLyraLovegood · 17/07/2007 14:58

Definitely go for stalls, rows A-P or dress circle front three rows iirc. Avoid the upper/grand circle (the cheap seats where me and Oggs will be sitting ).
Look at the Theatre Monkey site for a seating plan and a guide to which seats are best and worst. I wish I'd looked before I booked.

BoingBoing · 17/07/2007 15:13

Is the Dress Circle a waste of time if you're not in the first few rows? Or to put it another way, is it better to be further back in the stalls than further forward in the dress circle?

binkleandflip · 17/07/2007 17:01

I was row P on Sat and that was fine and fine view from the back of the stalls as well - like I say it is a small theatre. I was quite suprise how small actually. The front row is directly below the stage - not even a walkway in front of it - so I dare say you're better off a bit further back so you can see more.

Berrie · 17/07/2007 17:17

Yeah and you might get dripped on ...on the other hand, if you have an extra long tongue...!

Berrie · 17/07/2007 17:20

Last time I saw Joseph, I was 3 rows from the front and I felt really embarrassed every time I made eye contact with a brother. I expect this might have happened more as I was surrounded by schoolchildren, the adults must have stuck out a mile with the children sliding down in their seats. Anyway, if it was Lee you were making eye contact with it might not be so bad!

Berrie · 17/07/2007 17:21

Either that or I'm so stunning they couldn't take their eyes off me!

OggswartsExpress · 17/07/2007 18:16

Boing, here's a link to theatremonkey's seating plan for The Adelphi.

I booked my tickets here (scroll down a bit to "book with SEE")There was no booking fee. You just pay the ticket price.

When is your birthday? Lee is on Hols w/c 10 March.

Hope you get decent tickets .

Have kept the youtube vid on my computer all day so I could sneak looks at the chest Will be disappointed when I have to finally turn it off. Is there no way of saving it?

Oh, they surely must make a dvd of it to sell???????

OggswartsExpress · 17/07/2007 18:27

Ooh Ooh!!!! New Yummy Photos inc the gold boots, thighs, golden breastplate and a pharoah who looks like a cross between Adam Ant and Gary Glitter

LoonyLyraLovegood · 17/07/2007 18:56

Boing, I'd definitely go for stalls if I were you.
Oggs, my computer won't let me look at those pictures

Berrie · 17/07/2007 19:15

Oh they are not too bad, I was imagining sheer white knee highs I think!

Berrie · 17/07/2007 19:16

I wish he'd wear some sandles with his loin cloth...I don't do feet

OggswartsExpress · 17/07/2007 19:54

Bare feet are much better than sandals.....you'll be wanting him to wear a knotted hankie on his head next - actually some sort of roman sandal type thingy with thongs would work maybe????? Lee has nice feet though. Don't mind them in the least.

Lyra, try this. The pics are on the right. There are also some video clips that I've not looked at yet.

OggswartsExpress · 17/07/2007 20:07

Bugger. I can't play the clips and they look so promising......... I just get a screen of gobbledigook text.....

Have just started the quicktime download, but it's estimating that it will take over 4 hours
Don't understand though 'cos I thought I already had quicktime installed. It's showing as an icon on my desktop

Anyone else having difficulty???

LoonyLyraLovegood · 17/07/2007 20:57

I can't get on the RUG site either. The gods are conspiring to stop me seeing those pictures.
I should be at opening night right now. Sigh.

LoonyLyraLovegood · 17/07/2007 21:14

I've been killing threads all bloody day.

OggswartsExpress · 17/07/2007 21:14

Aw Lyra . I wonder why? How can I copy them so you can see them? Can you see this?

I'm glad you're here. I'm feeling in need of a bit of mutual support.
I've been referred to (not by name) on another 'annoyed with a newbie using a similar name to mine' type thread, and have just posted saying I don't want to have to change....

Oh. it's a shame... there's loads of photos on that site. Is it just my link, or can you not get that site at all?

LoonyLyraLovegood · 17/07/2007 21:26

I tried getting to it through Google but no luck. It just sticks for ages then says the server's not responding.
Are you a newbie then? it's not nice to be slagged off on an Mn thread is it? Who said it and where's the thread so i can look it up? And don't feel you should change just because some arse complains.

OggswartsExpress · 17/07/2007 21:49

No. I'm not a newbie

Don't think so anyway, or do you have to be the daughter, of the daughter, of the daughter of an MNer to be accepted?
I lurked for almost a year, and have been posting for over one under various names. Is that a newbie

Ah, it's just me overreacting I think. Nothing remotely nasty was said, and it seems to have died a death. I got myself all fired up, took ages to compose a post, and by the time I posted it they'd all buggered off .

LoonyLyraLovegood · 17/07/2007 22:18

Found the thread. I thought you were going to be ignored but it worked out ok in the end, didn't it? You do have a distinctive style so there's not much chance of a mix-up imo.
