That wasn't worth bribing DH to go up and see to DD for.
Am thoroughly disappointed in Russell t Davies!

Yes! wasn't just me then!

Utter bollocks

lemonaid · 30/06/2007 19:59

It started well...

NuttyMuffins · 30/06/2007 19:59

I wasn't as impressed as I expected to be tbh.

Is Martha leaving then ???????????????

PersonalClown · 30/06/2007 20:00

SSSSHHHHH I haven't watched it yet. Ds is insisting on watching Garfield.

BellaBear · 30/06/2007 20:00

I liked the story telling part

and captain jack = face of bo (sp?)

Chirpygirl · 30/06/2007 20:00

It did start great, but that ending was such a cop out...

Hmmm, how are we going to do this? I know, lets make the doctor a godlike person and he can solve everything.

WTF?!?!?!

I like life on mars man VERY much.

lemonaid · 30/06/2007 20:09

She says in RT interview that she's in the next series, so presumably she's not in the Christmas special but then calls him up?

But the captain jack thing seemed like an afterthought as well.

Sorry to offend Fiofio, but I had been looking forward to intricate plot lines all week (how sad am I) and was really disappointed!

I thought it was breathtakingly brilliant. Althought I agree Messianic Doctor was a bit much. Captain Jack as Face of Bo had me gobsmacked.

Chirpygirl · 30/06/2007 20:17

Yeah, and what was with the Gollum Doctor, did they just borrow Lord of the Rings CGI templates or what?!

OP posts:
Chirpygirl · 30/06/2007 20:18

Was great plot adding up with him being Face of Bo, but still felt like an afterthought in case they don't do another series.

didn't enjoy it much. Hated the messiah bit. Face of bo a turn up though

Kids loved it and ds2 (6) who's obsessed said, so is next saturday christmas? bless him

Fubsy · 30/06/2007 20:21

OK, Messianic bit was a tad too much, and yes I said why the Gollum, but it was still a great ending.

They had to go back in time really - otherwise every time the dr went back to the present day theyd be trying to rebuild the world.

And that could be tedious.

I never liked "Survivors"!

What, Dr Who or Survivors?

Chamomile · 30/06/2007 20:25

The thing I found hard to swallow was the zany, mad master . I remember this grim figure from the seventies too well and it just jarred.

The "zany" Master was a good attempt to do something different. if he'd been all sober and goatee-bearded and cackling, he'd have just come over as a poor man's Roger Delgado.

Some people don't get it. Evidently, as it gets amazing ratings (8m+) which still means 52m people don't watch.

I watched Eastenders once - that really WAS shit.

MamaMaiasaura · 30/06/2007 22:20

I thought it was great, am avid dr who fan. With FioFio on this

foxinsocks · 30/06/2007 22:21

lol UD. I do love your how many people don't watch theories (I really do).

Are you watching Jekyll? I noticed Stephen Moffat wrote it (the same one who did Blink, I think). It's great - I'm enjoying it despite Nesbitt.

My children adored it tonight. First time they've ever been quiet in Dr Who.

Boco · 30/06/2007 22:25

I half watched while dd1 asked questions and told me interesting facts all the way through ie 'are there people who grown toenails anywhere apart from on their feet mummy?'

So what do you mean face of bo? I must have been explaining about toenails - i don't know what you mean?

foxinsocks · 30/06/2007 22:29

Jack was the face of Boe. He died from old age (only thing he could die from I guess).

LyraB · 30/06/2007 22:35

Hang on a minute, Jack is the Face of Boe? When was this revealed? I watched it all the way through (DSs were being a bit noisy though) and didn't see this.
