21 kids and counting

Just watching the latest episode - how on earth do they afford to run that household? iPhones for the kids, holidays to Spain for 20 people, a new kitchen.

There is no way a bakery would generate that much money. Would channel 4 really pay that well for their participation in the programme?

Just tuned in. Caught it from when they called the teenagers lazy.

Going by the law of averages i reckon at least one of the kids may write a tell all book when they are older.

HelenaDove · 03/01/2019 22:11

"they dont need to go off and be independent because everything is here"

Frightened you will lose the free childcare Noel?

Controlling much.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 03/01/2019 22:12

Just watched and thought 'hmm' - that household is bat shit! The noise? The older ones and having a life or just some fucking peace and quiet.

My dad was one of 6 ( 1950s) as was my grandfather (pre ww2) I'd like to know how any woman copes with these huge families?

Bonkers.

Actually felt sorry for their two dogs in the household.

potatoscone · 03/01/2019 22:13

They are not paying for it. It's paid for them. They don't make TV shows for nothing.

potatoscone · 03/01/2019 22:14

Chloe just comes across as being so brainwashed by him Sad

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 03/01/2019 22:15

He’s so controlling. The way he shouted at her to follow the sat nav made me really uncomfortable.

BabyNameBook · 03/01/2019 22:15

It's just so cruel!

BornInAThunderstorm · 03/01/2019 22:15

I feel sorry for their neighbours, all that noise next door all the time

HowlsMovingBungalow · 03/01/2019 22:16

They must be getting paid. Mothercare was openly shown for new baby's pram purchase.

Fb page, magazines,tv shows?

HelenaDove · 03/01/2019 22:16

Just looked at the Twitter hashtag Why the fuck cant ppl see how controlling he is.

BakerBear · 03/01/2019 22:18

I would hate to live there.

No privacy whatsoever

HelenaDove · 03/01/2019 22:18

I will pre empt this by mentioning i dont have DC but surely part of bringing them up is to instill confidence in them and bring them up to be independent adults.

potatoscone · 03/01/2019 22:19

They don't even have time to talk to all of them most days let alone anything else.

GerryblewuptheER · 03/01/2019 22:21

I saw the earlier one.

It's a far cry from previous episodes.

All.enthusiastistic , excited and happy kids who love it at home so won't leave

Til the mask.slips and the ferel kids who destroyed the house, and sat nav gate, and the cake fiasco become apparent..

70sbaubles · 03/01/2019 22:21

I love them, sorry but I do.
They seem to really live each other, the kids are polite. On this morning they were all sat quiet, mine would have been bouncing everywhere.
The house has got loads better.
Sue didnt have one stretchmark!
Amazing.

I refuse to watch. Makes me so unbelievably cross.

HelenaDove · 03/01/2019 22:24

Bollocks Noel

bluebellpillow · 03/01/2019 22:25

I think they need to call it a day with the shows, this was just a copy of the previous ones (a birth and a holiday) but there was something very forced and scripted about this one? Last show showed the 3 big boys looking totally miserable and lifeless, saying they couldn't get any peace o r privacy, but now they love it and don't want to leave home?

The sleepover friend looked totally unconvinced when she said she would love to have that many siblings Grin
S ue and Noel have a rule about no boyfriends in bedrooms? Sophie had her first baby at 17 and her boyfriend was living with them!

Glad to see her trusty birthing shirt out again, at least they are saving money somewhere. On a serious note glad all went well but think she should count her blessings and call it quits at 21.

BabyNameBook · 03/01/2019 22:25

I'm watching it on +1.. £350 on food a week during the summer? What the fuck! The waste, the packaging! How many bins must they have Shock

Also, the 17year old who isn't allowed boys in her room. I know each to their own but it's got me thinking about my teenage years and body issues and puberty.. teenagers need a bit of privacy and their own room and space. It's so sad Sad

Lepetitpiggy · 03/01/2019 22:25

'we're not on benefits' No course you're not.

HelenaDove · 03/01/2019 22:25

the subtle benefit bashing again.

staydazzling · 03/01/2019 22:26

I was waiting for a thread on this, i felt bloody sorry for the 17 yr old , shes over 16 she should be allowed a love life.

bookmum08 · 03/01/2019 22:26

I saw a bit of it. The bedroom of the teenage girls looked so bleak and sad. No books, no pictures, no teddy bears and the beds all crammed together so there was no space. Odd.

BabyNameBook · 03/01/2019 22:26

'We're not rich' but we've had 30 prams..
