Oh my good god. Just coming to the end of the first new episode. Thrilling.

Idris is also not bad to look at!

Why was George the gangster heading to Luther’s home at the end? Because he saved Errol? Or
Something else? Do we know?

Yousignup · 01/01/2019 23:43

But it wasn't the nightbus! It was only 10.01 when she got on :)

CatAndHisKit · 01/01/2019 23:43

it seems that James (the patient) was in that diused tunnel - did she tell him to hide there or has he been held captive? It's the only way the boyfriend (or is it the son?) of the psychiatrist could have killed him there and put the mask on him while disappearing himself.

But also when would he have got into her car if there was police all around there, and she was nursing her stabbed arm?

It's good but unneccesarily graphic overall - why do that.

LanaorAna2 · 01/01/2019 23:45

Bloody hell, Hermione's fillers make her scarier to look at than the killer in the mask.

They've photoshopped her too much too. Bwa ha ha.

CatAndHisKit · 01/01/2019 23:45

*unnecessary, tsk

CatAndHisKit · 01/01/2019 23:48

Yes Hermione had some fillers - but I think she looks better/younger now as she was very gaunt in recent tv appearances.

George shot at Alice, or a figure looking like Alice, earlier on when he was looking for his son, so he knows she's alive.

My guess is that he twigged that she's be heading to Luther's so that's why he made his way there.

Yousignup · 02/01/2019 00:00

When he put the whisky glasses down and they all moved off, George said something. We replayed it 6 times but still have no idea what he said!

Awrite · 02/01/2019 00:05

Didn't George say something like 'Luther must've known/must know'?

Yousignup · 02/01/2019 00:15

Ah, makes sense but I just couldn't hear it!

MiddleClassProblem · 02/01/2019 01:04

I have questions:
Firstly about the set up, the husband used the patients phone so they must have decided to set him up. I thibk the husband had abducted the patient and hidden him in that tunnel bit ready to decoy... but why? They had only found one killing spree and had no clues to who it was until HN came forward. Now when he kills again they’ll know she’s to do with it.

(Side note: her Botox face looked too much like the mask. HN! You don’t need it!)

Secondly, the bus... how the fuck was the floor so clean? At 10pm!?! Not even a McDonald’s straw wrapper?
And why did no one notice some weird bloke crouching down at the back? The back and the front are alway the first to get seats nabbed.

And they had poor continuity or the other passengers getting off which annoyed me.

MiddleClassProblem · 02/01/2019 01:48

Just thought if something. When he was making the noise to the girl at the bus stop but then was on the bus, did we see that it might be him before the cyclist came? Maybe they roped in James and he was doing the noise whilst the husband was on the bus? 🤷🏽‍♀️

ProudAunty2nine · 02/01/2019 03:21

"Why does he walk funny"?

Idris Elba had knee surgery a few months before filming began

Sillybilly1234 · 02/01/2019 03:50

He never had his seatbelt fastened when he was driving. It irrationally annoyed me. Still loved it though.

ohwownosnow · 02/01/2019 06:41

Forgotten about him being shot in thigh.

I am wondering what caught Halliday's eye.

Been awake in night trying to piece it all together!

What noise at the bus stop???

TeachesOfPeaches · 02/01/2019 08:05

Can someone briefly explain the Alice character please?

NoWordForFluffy · 02/01/2019 08:32

There was a kind of whooping noise while the woman waited for the bus. I think while the cyclist was cycling down the path.

I said to DH that there's no way I'd have stayed on the top deck on my own. That bit was quite unrealistic.

Neverunderfed · 02/01/2019 08:40

Was the one who was killed the gangster's missing son?

MrsGrindah · 02/01/2019 09:33

Ridiculous! Was so looking forward to it but it was too silly for words esp the bomb scene

MiddleClassProblem · 02/01/2019 09:39

TeachesOfPeaches series one is really your best explanation but she’s just like this psychotic angel to Luther. She’s amazing.

I could write it down but it really is different to seeing it. She was a child prodigy with a PHD as a teen who killed her parents but Luther couldn’t prove it. She then starts to stalk him and try to impress him but not for romantic reasons. He’s safe when she’s around as she will do anything to save him, no conscience, smart, agile and strong. You find yourself cheering when she’s on screen.

MiddleClassProblem · 02/01/2019 09:46

Neverunderfed we don’t know anything about the missing son yet other than he’s missing but maybe Alice knows. (Newbies: George has supposedly killed Alice for stealing diamonds from him a.k.a Ruth Wilson was too busy to come back to film).

nowifi · 02/01/2019 10:05

Agree about the bus way to clean haha! And no way would it be empty at that time!

nowifi · 02/01/2019 10:05

*too clean!

OrgyofSausages · 02/01/2019 10:15

I just knew there would be a thread on this! my thoughts so far:

  • Alice is the key to George's ds' disappearance. She's taken him in revenge for George having her bumped off.
  • Hermione N (who has deffo had the mother of all cheek fillers) is pulling the strings re: the psycho killers. Still not clear about the identity of james / the man in the car boot etc.
  • there will be a big showdown between the two female bosses, Alice and Hermione.
  • the new female DS is a bit dull don't you think? Better than the last series though, the female DS was a drip and a half.
  • I love Benny.
  • I love Idris more.

Eagerly awaiting tonight's instalment ! Grin.
