Can you believe we are on thread 50! This is for all discussions on the BBC series Our Girl and any possible future series. Reference to Captain James is particularly welcome.

Yes he is tall, dark and posh - so a typical Rupert.

Ilovelblue · 10/01/2019 21:03

He's the one who reappeared a few years ago as a consultant in Holby City - with a lot more wrinkles!

I find Major Cadman a bit funny - he is very intense, but Pascoe is being a bit naïve isn't he.

Ilovelblue · 10/01/2019 21:04

I think Pascoe must only be in his early-mid 20s?

'This bit at Brize Nor'hun makes me laugh very reminiscent of the start of OG apart from the poignant reminder of the dangers of serving on active duty.

eejittwo · 10/01/2019 21:06

And clicked on the wrong episode. And it was like this for so long.

Rhubarb01 · 10/01/2019 21:06

Here they are all lined up on parade - time for a photograph! Love the Sergeant Major with his teddy bear picnic chant.

Ilovelblue · 10/01/2019 21:07

I thought something along those lines Rhu except this lot are somewhat larger in numbers than Two Section (even the first series of OG).

Establishing the personalities of the characters quite early on.

Ilovelblue · 10/01/2019 21:07

... and here comes Mrs Buckle from Call the Midwife!

Can’t imagine Kingy going in about teddy bears.

Ilovelblue · 10/01/2019 21:08

The sergeant from the military police seems a bit of a bully and sexist.

Oh yes there were no budget limitations - they look like a real section.

I really like Nancy - she has such a cheeky sense of humour. Not sure if she would have to dress in a skirt these days - or am I wrong. She looks weird around the ankles in that distance shot.

Rhubarb01 · 10/01/2019 21:10

I think the Sergeant has a point - no arrests in two years!

Ilovelblue · 10/01/2019 21:10

When you think about it, the skirts aren't particularly practical but yes, that was the era I guess. I would never have dreamed of wearing trousers when I started work.

That pulled those removal men up sharply didn't it.

eejittwo · 10/01/2019 21:11

I still don’t wear trousers to work.

Ilovelblue · 10/01/2019 21:12

Excellent way of keeping the little boy in line!! Not sure about chucking the gun into a tree though.

Oh the Colonel is a bit of gallant devil is he? I like the way they wives can be cheeky with him and it doesn't matter.

Meanwhile Lieutenant Pascoe realises he has made a bit of a mistake turning up at the funeral - he looks out of place.

Rhubarb01 · 10/01/2019 21:13

Gosh eejit I don't think I've worn a skirt in years - hate the things now.

Rhubarb01 · 10/01/2019 21:15

Here we can see the difference in the ranks - the middle class wife is making a feast for the returning hero.

eejittwo · 10/01/2019 21:16

Who’s the colonel? I recognise him from something else.

Ilovelblue · 10/01/2019 21:16

eejit I started to wear trousers when we had a "dress down Friday" and then would occasionally through the week as a bit of variety but generally I wore skirts or dresses. All that changed when I finished work.

Oh dear - Nick Pascoe has been spotted and everyone else is looking worried. He realises he is going to have to make a run for it or end up in a lot of trouble.

Ilovelblue · 10/01/2019 21:17

He's been in all sorts eejit. (I googled him last week).
